This auction is for a 1982 Toyota Corolla in excellent condition. Has A/C, cruise control, an MP3/CD stereo, is very clean and it runs good! My grandparents bought this car new in 1982 and I am the second, the current, and only other owner of this Corolla. It is virtually impossible to find another Corolla this old in this good of condition! Original paint, 3T-C engine, K&N air filter, original wheels, have the title in my name, it's a great car! Have had people drive up and want to but this car several times. Now, it's not perfect. Was in a minor fender bender recently, so it does need a little body work, mainly on the hood to bring it back to excellent shape. See the photos. Also the passenger door rubs ever so slightly when opening as does the hood when opening, both from the fender bender. There are only two or three pea sized rust spots, which can be easily fixed with a little time, bondo, primer, and an included can of Sherwin Williams automotive paint that was made to exactly match the current paint color on this car. Also the driver door had a couple of dents which have been fixed and the lower panel only has been repainted with the Sherwin Williams paint. It looks great but if you wanted to make it look perfect, which it can, you might need to spend some more time putting on more coats of paint and wet sanding with four thousand grit sandpaper or finer. But it is nice as it is. You will also need a new radiator, this one has a tiny leak, and if you need heat, will need a new heater core also. You can use the A/C to defrost in the winter if your winters are mild, but just keep that in mind for defrosting the windows during the winter time. Emergency break works good, brakes are in good shape, rear Michelin tires have about 75% life left and the front ones are still drivable but it is really time to replace the front tires. Does not leak oil. The stereo is new. Has a new drive train. Has tinted windows. The driver side window tint has a small tear as seen in the photo. The rest of the windows are fine. Window tint is less than a year old. Has a trailer hitch and a working flat four wiring harness. Spare tire is good. Low fuel light bulb on dash is out, but fuel gauge and all gauges work properly. Interior light works but the switch broke so you have to use the key or something to move between off, door, and on. Not a big deal. Am selling this great Corolla because I bought a Tacoma truck for work, do not need two vehicles, and do not want to spend the time and money to fix the radiator and the hood. Also there are a couple of pieces of plastic trim on the front by the headlights that are cracked as seen in the photos. All of the original trim is still on the vehicle and in good shape, except for those couple of pieces. It is a five speed manual transmission. The miles are the original miles. This car has spent most of it's nights in a garage or under a car cover so that is why it is in such good condition. One tiny crack on the dashboard but otherwise it is also in excellent shape, as seen in the photos. Seats are in excellent condition. Oh, the driver side seat belt is a little frayed but it is only an aesthetic concern, not a safety concern. And included is a matching seat belt webbing if you want to replace that. The ceiling material has been replaced, the original one was falling down, and the current one is in excellent shape and it is not falling down. Has an antique Florida license plate. No bumper stickers or stickers of any kind on the car. All the windows work properly. All the locks work properly. So in summary, it is basically impossible to find another Corolla this old, in this good of condition, that runs this good; except for this slight damage (which you may be able to fix yourself in a few days) resulting from the minor fender bender. That's it! Have enjoyed driving this great car for many years and once you fix the front end of the body, am sure that you will enjoy driving it for many more years!
Update: Since typing the above description, the car has sat for a couple of weeks and now it won't start. Battery seems fine. It is probably the starter. The starter may work again, it may just be kind of locked up now from sitting around. You can probably pop the clutch to get it started on a safe incline, or it may possibly need a new starter or something. It may be a simple fix, I don't know. Tested the battery though and it is showing the proper voltage. Also there are no other major dents or scratches on the car anywhere else other that what is described above. It is very clean and the paint is not peeling anywhere. The paint is original and is in very good condition. Also I might can tow/deliver this car to you, if you want and that will cost extra.

2021 L.A. Auto Show roundup | All the reveals, reviews, pictures
Thu, Nov 18 2021The L.A. Auto Show took place this week for the first time since the onset of the pandemic. It was a show packed with news and reveals, which hasn't really been the case with other shows we've seen this year, and Autoblog was on the floor covering every minute of it. Well, Riswick and Stocksdale were, anyway. The rest of us were sitting at home in our sweatpants, but hey, we'll take credit anyway. Let's get to it. Hyundai Seven Concept This is the Hyundai Seven Concept, and it’s meant to act as a preview for an incoming electric SUV for the Ioniq brand. It leans more toward the concept side of the spectrum than a production car, but expect the final SUV to take design cues from the Seven Concept. Kia Concept EV9 The Hyundai Seven counterpart isn't the only big, bold electric SUV at L.A. this year. Kia has its own take, and it's a modernized version of the traditional boxy utility vehicle called the Concept EV9. It also previews one of the next production electric cars for the brand, which should look right at home next to things like the Telluride. 2023 Kia Sportage HEV As promised, the 2023 Kia Sportage HEV has been revealed. The hybrid powertrain makes the compact SUV the most powerful version available, and it goes on sale next year. The engine is a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder paired with a 44-kW electric motor. Total output is 226 horsepower. The company didn't give a torque number, but it should basically be the same as the Sorento HEV that has the same basic powertrain: 258 pound-feet. Those numbers are a healthy step up from the 187 horsepower of the base 2.5-liter engine. 2022 Range Rover If you noticed how extra smooth and suave the new Range Rover looked during its recent reveal, Autoblog's James Riswick got a design tour that revealed some of the technological secrets to its success. "Less is more" is harder to achieve than it looks. Fisker Ocean Fisker has brought the new Ocean EV to the L.A. Auto Show, with a public preview at Manhattan Beach and a presence at the show itself. You can watch the public show reveal above, and see more shots from the show floor below. Fisker says the Ocean will start at $37,499 before incentives. That entry model would be the Sport trim with a single, 275-horsepower motor driving the front wheels and 250 miles of estimated range. It also has a 0-60 time of 6.9 seconds. 2023 Toyota bZ4X This is the 2023 Toyota bZ4X, due to hit U.S.
Toyota settles first wrongful death suit related to unintended acceleration
Mon, 21 Jan 2013Toyota's sales seem to have rebounded from the unintended acceleration issues from 2009 and 2010, but the automaker is far from done dealing with this situation. Following a settlement worth up to $1.4 billion for economic loss to affected vehicle owners, Toyota has settled rather than going to trial in a wrongful death lawsuit stemming from an accident in Utah in 2010 that left two passengers dead. This isn't the first case in which Toyota has settled, but it was the first among a consolidated group of cases being held in Santa Ana, CA.
According to The Detroit News, this case was scheduled to take place next month, and it was for a November 2010 incident in which Paul Van Alfen and Charlene James Lloyd were killed in a Camry when, based on findings by the Utah Highway Patrol, the accelerator got stuck causing the car to speed out of control and hit a wall; the terms of the settlement were not announced.
The article says that while Toyota will settle on some cases, it doesn't plan on settling on all of them as it still wants to be able to "defend [its] product at trial." This will probably be the case in suits claiming that software for the drive-by-wire accelerator was the cause of an accident in a Toyota or Lexus vehicle. The question of whether or not the electronic accelerator played any role in this problem has been a hot-button topic since the beginning. Toyota has issued recalls in the past to attempt to prevent unintended acceleration caused by trapped floor mats and faulty accelerator pedals, but it also says driver error was to blame in some instances.
Toyota must go to trial over unintended acceleration suits
Tue, 08 Oct 2013Toyota is surely readying its trial lawyers, as the Japanese giant is officially headed to court in a pair of cases relating to its unintended acceleration fiascos of 2009 and 2010.
In the first case, the United States Supreme Court has actually got involved in matters, ignoring an appeal from Toyota that attempted to use an arbitrator to settle its California lawsuits. The automaker will now go to trial to face owners of 2010 Prius models over an alleged defect with the anti-lock braking systems, which plaintiffs say made the cars more difficult to stop, according to Bloomberg.
The second trial is a bit more in depth, covering the case of Ida St. John, an 83-year-old from Georgia, that crashed her 2005 Camry in 2009. The accident is believed to have played a part in her death, although the suit, being filed by her grandson, doesn't actually place blame on Toyota for her death.
