Exterior Wear and Tear
-The rims are worn and scuffed. Due to daily driving on salted roads from the snow they have corroded and pieces of the rims have chipped off.
-There is a small scratch on the rear bumper.-As far as the carbon fiber hood, the clear coat was stripped off but can easily be re-done
-There is also a very small rust spot on the rear panel, this spot has been there since I bought the car six years ago and has not grown in size.
Interior Wear and Tear
-The interior is in great condition!
-The only defect is the white paint on the back of the driver seat and also the back seats. I did not use any product to try and remove these spots in worry that it would destroy or hurt the leather.
Engine
-The engine is in great shape, the car runs great and has no mechanical problems.
-Was just inspected at the beginning of May!
***All wear and tear noted is pictured***
This Celica was my first car purchased at 16. I have owned the car for almost seven years and although I love it, I think it is time to move on as I will be 23 this upcoming month and have just decided I'm ready for a new car. A little over a year ago I replaced the side skirts and front bumper of the car. This was just a cosmetic repair as I felt the wear and tear on the body kit was becoming noticeable, which is why I replaced it. I did not replace the rear bumper because it was and still is in great condition. Therefore, I have the rear bumper body kit and have no use for it and will be included with the car. This part is pictured. For Christmas I received pioneer speakers that I never installed. Again, I will have no use for these speakers and will include them as well. These speakers are also pictured, I have never even opened the box and are brand new. There will also be extra lowering struts I have included as well.
The body kit on this car is the Vader Body Kit for a 2000-2005 Celica. As you can see in the pictures, there are two gauges. These are an air/fuel ratio and oil pressure gauge. There is also a throttle position sensor. None of these are hooked up because I personally had no use for them but can be hooked back up and fully functional.
If you have any questions, please email me at sharlascotten3@rocketmail.com
***Mileage is subject to change as I do use this car as a daily driver! I will drive it as least as possible during this auction period.***
***I do have this car listed locally, therefore I can end this auction at any time***

J.D. Power study sees new car dependability problems increase for first time since 1998
Wed, 12 Feb 2014For the first time since 1998, J.D. Power and Associates says its data shows that the average number of problems per 100 cars has increased. The finding is the result of the firm's much-touted annual Vehicle Dependability Study, which charts incidents of problems in new vehicle purchases over three years from 41,000 respondents.
Looking at first-owner cars from the 2011 model year, the study found an average of 133 problems per 100 cars (PP100, for short), up 6 percent from 126 PP100 in last year's study, which covered 2010 model-year vehicles. Disturbingly, the bulk of the increase is being attributed to engine and transmission problems, with a 6 PP100 boost.
Interestingly, JDP notes that "the decline in quality is particularly acute for vehicles with four-cylinder engines, where problem levels increase by nearly 10 PP100." Its findings also noticed that large diesel engines also tended to be more problematic than most five- and six-cylinder engines.
EPA says automakers ahead of schedule for 54.5 MPG by 2025
Sat, Apr 26 2014Remember, the target is 54.5 miles per gallon by 2025. Today, the CAFE level is a little over 30. How we get from here to there is something the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is monitoring closely. Thus, the EPA just released an annual flash report on how the auto industry is progressing towards meeting the nation's fuel economy goals. Overall, the industry is doing almost 10 grams per mile (equivalent) better than the rules require. The good news is that the industry is a bit ahead of schedule. In the report (see page iii), the EPA breaks things down by automaker based only on MY12 numbers. Tesla is at the top of the list (which is ranked by over-compliance with 2012MY CO2 standards), but for our money, the real leader is Toyota. The Japanese automaker built the second-highest number of vehicles (2,020,248, after General Motors' 2,364,374) but racked up the most net 2012 over-compliance credits (13,163,009 metric tons). That's an average of over 6.5 metric tons per vehicle. The next closest is Honda, with just over five metric tons of credits per vehicle. Given the MPG fiasco with Hyundai and Kia, the EPA says, "we are excluding Hyundai and Kia data because of the ongoing investigation into their testing methods," but overall, the rest of the industry has credits worth 25,053,168 metric tons of CO2, which means it's doing almost 10 grams per mile (equivalent) better than the rules require. Go team. For now, the numbers in this report (and there are a lot more of them – get the 59-page PDF for yourself here), can't really be used to understand everything from the first year of the new CAFE program. The EPA writes, "Because the program allows credits and deficits to be carried into future years, at the close of the 2012 model year no manufacturer is considered to be out of compliance with the program. ... Compliance with the 2012 model year standards can't be fully assessed until the end of the 2015 model year." There are a more interesting tidbits in the report, such as the fact that Fisker produced 1,415 model year 2012 vehicles, Tesla made 2,952. Remember, too, that CAFE numbers don't equal the fuel economy you see in your daily drives. In the real world, the 54.5 CAFE level will be about 40 mpg, and the average fuel economy today is around 25 mpg, so we have a ways to go, no matter how you measure it. How Charlotte lost to Plano without even knowing it was dealing with Toyota
Thu, 08 May 2014With Toyota set to relocate its North American headquarters to the Dallas, TX suburb of Plano following a top-secret, 100-city search, the cities that missed out can now begin asking themselves what happened during a process they apparently knew little about.
That's a particularly brutal task for Charlotte, which, according to North Carolina's Secretary of Commerce, Sharon Decker, finished second to Plano. While Toyota has been fairly open about what it was looking for in a new headquarters city - direct flights to Japan, proximity to its US production facilities, a lower cost of living, high-quality educational facilities and finding a neutral site suitable to the California, Kentucky and New York-based employees that would be relocated - it's been less open about how the finalist cities, which also included Atlanta and Denver, stacked up against each other.
The Charlotte Observer has a few ideas. Part of the problem is the distinct lack of direct flights between Charlotte and Asia. US Airways, which operates a hub at Charlotte/Douglas International Airport, doesn't fly to Asia.
