I'm listing my 2002 Toyota Celica GT up for sale so that I can upgrade to an SUV. It is silver with a black near-mint interior, has an automatic transmission, has 141k (mostly highway) miles, a clear title, non-smoking, all work records kept on it since I bought it, everything mechanically sound, ice cold A/C, woman-driven, and all maintenance up to date. Never modded, all factory Toyota parts. It has top-quality General Altimax Artic tires on it with at least 2 years of tread left, excellent in the winter yet still smooth and quiet in the summer. It's been regularly hand-washed and detailed, and the only rust spot is on the driver's side running board. It runs and handles solidly and smoothly (it's a Toyota after all). The split-folding rear seats fold down flat and give a ton of room - I even brought home my dresser in the car, much to the amazement of the furniture salesman. I'll be sad to see it go, but we just got a German Shepherd that will soon be around 90lbs, so I'd like something a little roomier so we can transport her in my vehicle, too.
Two small accidents were reported long before I had it, with absolutely no residual damage or effects. Everything is perfectly aligned and matched, as a matter of fact I had it inspected before I knew it was in an accident and the shop told me it had never been in one because of how it looked both in the body and underneath the car. The lien that shows up on the title report is also from a previous owner and is not in effect anymore.
Message me with any questions. Thanks for looking!

Toyota recalling 1.9M Prius models globally for software update
Wed, 12 Feb 2014Toyota has announced a set of voluntary recalls covering 960,000 Prius, RAV4, Tacoma and Lexus RX350 models in the United States to address two separate issues. Worldwide, Toyota will have to recall a total of 1.9 million Prius cars.
The Prius recall affects about 700,000 2010-2014 models in the US, due to a fault in the motor/generator control ECU and hybrid control ECU software. It says that the current software could result in high temperatures on certain transistors and possibly damage them. When it fails, the error forces the car into failsafe mode. Toyota says that in rare circumstances, it could even shut the hybrid system down while the car is being driven.
Toyota spokeswoman Shino Yamada told Automotive News that the software update should take about 40 minutes, and dealers would start to be notified about affected vehicles today. She also told them that the first reported glitch occurred in May 2011 in the US when the system overheated and the car entered failsafe mode. The affected cars were built between March 2009 and Feb. 5, 2014, according to Automotive News. Toyota says that it has received no reports of accidents or injuries caused by either fault.
Expedition drives from Russia to Canada over North Pole...
Tue, 21 May 2013No, a Ford Expedition did not drive from Russia to Canada via the North Pole, but that's exactly what a team of intrepid explorers accomplished recently. Using specially-modified buses with massive tires, the group slowly drove 2,485 miles in 70 days over drifting ice, occasionally using a pickaxe to clear a path and staying on guard for chasms that could open up and plunge the team into the frigid arctic waters. Average speeds were about 6 mph, "at the speed of a (farm) tractor." While the big tires technically allowed the buses to float if the need arose, the team preferred to stay out of the water to keep the suspension from getting coated in thick, hard ice. Falling in on foot would mean almost certain death.
According to Phys.org, the buses were powered by Toyota diesel engines, but were built with prototype parts from a previous driving expedition to the North Pole. Right now, the machines are parked in a garage in Canada's Resolute Bay while the the team rests up with family back home. They plan to continue their trek to back across the Bering Straight to Russia. If successful, the team may eventually offer a version of their buses for commercial sale.
Toyota profits up 23% on high US sales, despite mounting legal costs
Tue, 05 Feb 2013Toyota earned $9.3 billion in net income in the financial year that ends next month. The number beats earlier forecasts and marks a five-year high for the automaker, with both operating income and revenue up by 9.5 percent and 2.5 percent, respectively. Toyota saw quarterly profit enjoy a year-on-year jump of 23.4 percent, with the manufacturer earning more than $1 billion between October and December 2012. The good news comes in spite of the fact that the Japanese automaker actually endured an operating loss in North America, due in part to legal fees.
Toyota is set to pay more than $1 billion to owners who claim their vehicles decreased in value as a result of the company's recent spate of recalls. Even so, all three of the automaker's brands enjoyed a 13.5 percent sales increase in the US in the last quarter, beating the industry average. Toyota faltered in Europe, however, where it earned $99 million in operating profit last year, compared to $111 million in 2011.
