HI there eBayers! For auction today, we have a 2000 Toyota Celica GT!
It has a 4 cylinder 1.8 engine. 5 Speed manual transmission.
A few things to know before you bid. This is my sons car which he has put a lot of money into.
Last year we had to replace the transmission with a rebuild transmission and clutch on the vehicle. At the time we also replaced the brakes( rotors, pads and brake flush), coolant flush, Power steering flush as well. We had also purchased tires from Firestone. ( tires have approximation 1,000 miles on them). Vehicle was in top running condition until this past winter when my son calls me up saying the vehicle stopped working. Took it to our shop (Firestone) and told us the motor has locked up. After this news my son decided to sell the car. For those who do not know what this means , its that the vehicles engine needs to be replaced since it does not work anymore. My son has kept the vehicle in original specs. NO MODIFICATIONS at all. Truly a wonderful car once fixed.
Everything works on the car sound system, power windows, sunroof, lights.
Has no History of accidents.

BMW, Toyota outline new tech joint venture, new sports car

On Thursday, they signed a more formal and binding agreement that goes further into detail about the partnership, and it all sounds pretty exciting. Toyota engineer warns automous cars could increase fuel use, urban sprawl
Fri, 18 Jul 2014An increasing number of people are starting to consider the potential downsides of a transition to autonomous cars. The FBI is already looking at them for the potential ill effects on law enforcement, and a scientist for Toyota is raising the possibility that driverless vehicles could actually be detrimental to the environment over the long term.
Ken Laberteaux, who studies future transportation for Toyota, thinks that autonomous cars could lead to more pollution, not less, says Bloomberg. However, Laberteaux's theory isn't so much based purely on science as it is considering behavioral and historical trends. "US history shows that anytime you make driving easier, there seems to be this inexhaustible desire to live further from things," said Laberteaux during a presentation at the Automated Vehicles Symposium in San Francisco, CA, cited by Bloomberg.
Laberteaux's belief is that if commuters can make their drives easier, then they will be more willing to live farther away from the cities where they work. The end result would be more urban sprawl and increased pollution from the longer travel times.
HQ move based on study, not pitch from Gov. Perry, Toyota says
Tue, 29 Apr 2014Toyota's surprising announcement on Monday that it will move its North American headquarters from Torrance, CA location to the Dallas suburb of Plano, TX is allegedly not due to any political wrangling from the state's Republican governor, Rick Perry.
Perry (above) has been up front in his aggressive pursuit of businesses and jobs for Texas, traveling to California, Missouri, Illinois and New York to tempt corporations to his state. And it's not just about the promise of much lower taxes, a Perry spokesman reminds Automotive News that the state boasts, "a workforce that is skilled and ready to do any job."
For his part, Jim Lentz, Toyota's North American CEO said Plano was chosen through an internal process, with the location helped by its proximity to the company's massive pickup factory in San Antonio rather than any campaigning from the governor.
