1993 Toyota Celica Gt Convertable Very Rare With Low Miles on 2040-cars
Gainesville, Florida, United States
Very rare 1993 Toyota Celica GT Convertable with low low miles. Very clean inside and out for a 21 year old car. Interior 7.5/10, exterior 7.5/10. The car is all original motor, transmission, interior, top, paint. The car was purchased at an estate sale. It was just sitting in the back of the owners house under a tarp. The owner I purchased it from bought the car back in june of 2004 and only had 116817 miles on the odometer at that time which is documented on the Title. That means the car has been driven less than 2000 miles in the past 10 years. It now only has 118169 miles. The starting bid is less then what I have just put into the car in order to get it running again. My loss is your gain. THE PROS: New Radiator, thermostat, alternator, battery, distributor, wires, plugs, fuel filter, fuel pump, timing belt, all fluids changed or flushed, Brand new tires put on last week with less than 10 miles on them. Just over $1600 in just parts, not including the labor. THE CONS: air bag light on (not sure why), tachometer inop (sure its just a sensor), wipers don't work (bad switch), factory radio cuts in and out (needs replaced), car has cold start hickups first thing in the morning when started but smooths out and goes away once warmed up (caused by cold start injector) nothing major at all. These are all very minor issues that would take no time at all to fix. All that being said, the car runs and drives great. I have only put 90 miles on the car since I have got it up and running and it just runs better and better with each mile I put on it. Really just needs to be driven. If you have any question please ask, If your local and want to come look at the car before you bid please just let me know. The car is located in Gainesville Florida. RE LISTING FOR THE SECOND TIME DUE TO NON-PAYING BIDDER: BIDDER RESTRICTIONS: Minimum 10 positive feed backs required. Toyota recalls 4,000 Tacoma pickups over valve springs
Thu, 07 Nov 2013When you build as many cars and trucks as Toyota does, you're bound to run into the occasional recall. In the past month alone, the Japanese auto giant has recalled over 800,000 Camry, Avalon and Venza models over problems with the air-conditioning units, and 10,000 more before that over windshield wiper issues. Now Toyota has issued another recall notice, but this time for far fewer vehicles.
The recall revolves around the engine valve springs in the 2013 and 2014 Tacoma, specifically those fitted with the standard 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine and not the optional 4.0-liter V6. The issue is that the valve springs are prone to cracking and breaking over time, and results from improper maintenance of the manufacturing equipment used by one of the two suppliers that outfit Toyota with the components in question.
All told, some 4,000 vehicles will be subject to the voluntary recall, the owners of which will receive notice by mail. If you think that could be you and want to get a jump on the problem, you can read the announcement below and call Toyota yourself.
Toyota hydrogen vehicle visits CES, on sale in US in 2015
Mon, Jan 6 2014If there was ever any doubt that Toyota loves hydrogen vehicles, just listen to some of what Bob Carter, senior vice president of automotive operations for Toyota Motor Sales, USA, said today at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas: "Fuel cell electric vehicles will be in our future sooner than many people believe, and in much greater numbers than anyone expected." "Hydrogen works beautifully with oxygen to create water and electricity and nothing more." "This [hydrogen] infrastructure thing is going to happen." "I believe what I'm going to tell you about today is going to change our world." Sounds like love is in the air. In all seriousness, Toyota is incredibly bullish on the future of hydrogen as a part of the automotive landscape, and is now gearing up for the 2015 launch of its hydrogen sedan. The concept version of the car was shown for the first time at the Tokyo Motor Show last fall and is making its North American debut at CES today, alongside the still-under-camo engineering prototype. The reasons for Toyota's hydrogen confidence? The debut vehicle is supposed to be a "reasonably priced" car that has a range of 300 miles and a refueling time of about five minutes. Carter highlighted the engineering work that Toyota has done over the past decades to get the fuel cell system downsized while upping power output to over 100 kW. He also said the vehicle will have carry enough energy to power a house for a week, so company engineers are working on an export power supply device. The H2 Toyota sedan will start sales in California (the only state in the US where there are currently any hydrogen stations) next year. The automaker is working with the University of California Irvine's Advanced Power and Energy Program (APEP) to figure out where to build the next series of public hydrogen fueling stations. Today there are ten, but the model Toyota is using "is based on the assumption that owners want to reach a refueling station within 6-minutes" and shows that 68 stations would be able to serve around 10,000 hydrogen vehicles. 'Toyota Car of the Future' On Sale Next Year; Opens 2014 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Reasonably priced hydrogen fuel cell electric targets 300-mile range, 3-5 minute fill-up LAS VEGAS (Jan. 06, 2014) – "We aren't trying to re-invent the wheel; just everything necessary to make them turn," said Bob Carter, senior vice president of automotive operations for Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A.
Toyota Camry incentives and fleet sales cranked to keep sales crown, insiders worried
Mon, 01 Jul 2013We've been watching for some time now as Toyota has piled more incentives on the hood of its Camry sedan, and Automotive News reports that the we're not the only ones with raised eyebrows. The current Camry hasn't even been on the market for two years, but the family sedan segment is more hotly contested than it has been in years. It's that high level of competition that has led the automaker to uncharacteristically add more money on the hood in order to assure it maintains its long-held title of America's Best-Selling Car, a mantle it has owned for a dozen years. It's ramping up fleet sales, too.
According to the analysts at TrueCar, Toyota has bumped incentives per unit every month this year, now totaling some $2,750 as of May, a 38-percent hike over this time last year. That's more spiff money than the segment's other best sellers, the Nissan Altima ($2,400), Ford Fusion ($2,300) and Honda Accord ($1,400), all of whom have actually decreased their incentive spend by 20- to 40-percent over the same period.
The ramp up in incentive spending and fleet sales has analysts concerned that Toyota will tarnish the Camry's historically sterling resale value. ALG pegs the 2013 Camry's current 36-month residual value at 54.4 percent, well ahead of the segment average's 50.9 percent (but shy of the Accord's 55.6 percent). However, analysts are concerned that as the current generation ages, their resale values will eventually plummet if incentives continue to increase as Toyota looks to keep the Camry's best-selling car crown going forward.
