1993 Toyota Celica Gt Convertable Very Rare With Low Miles on 2040-cars
Gainesville, Florida, United States
Very rare 1993 Toyota Celica GT Convertable with low low miles. Very clean inside and out for a 21 year old car. Interior 7.5/10, exterior 7.5/10. The car is all original motor, transmission, interior, top, paint. The car was purchased at an estate sale. It was just sitting in the back of the owners house under a tarp. The owner I purchased it from bought the car back in june of 2004 and only had 116817 miles on the odometer at that time which is documented on the Title. That means the car has been driven less than 2000 miles in the past 10 years. It now only has 118169 miles. The starting bid is less then what I have just put into the car in order to get it running again. My loss is your gain. THE PROS: New Radiator, thermostat, alternator, battery, distributor, wires, plugs, fuel filter, fuel pump, timing belt, all fluids changed or flushed, Brand new tires put on last week with less than 10 miles on them. Just over $1600 in just parts, not including the labor. THE CONS: air bag light on (not sure why), tachometer inop (sure its just a sensor), wipers don't work (bad switch), factory radio cuts in and out (needs replaced), car has cold start hickups first thing in the morning when started but smooths out and goes away once warmed up (caused by cold start injector) nothing major at all. These are all very minor issues that would take no time at all to fix. All that being said, the car runs and drives great. I have only put 90 miles on the car since I have got it up and running and it just runs better and better with each mile I put on it. Really just needs to be driven. If you have any question please ask, If your local and want to come look at the car before you bid please just let me know. The car is located in Gainesville Florida. Ford predicts it will finish 2013 as top-selling US brand
Mon, 30 Dec 2013Ford is ready to call the ball on its 2013 sales totals, predicting a first-place finish for units sold in the US for a single brand. The company anticipates selling more than 2.4 million vehicles when all vehicle sales over the last 12 months have been tallied, repeating the victory it trumpeted over Toyota last year.
According to Ford's accounting, it sold 329,677 more vehicles than did Toyota in 2012. This year, the Blue Oval expects that margin to grow; through the end of November, Ford says it has outsold Toyota by 396,041 units.
Retail sales of Ford products are projected to exceed 1.7 million units for 2013 (the best retail result in 6 years for the company), with passenger cars accounting for 600k of that total. The redesigned Fusion is expected to crest the 290k mark, and the Fiesta is said to be ready to hit a model-record of 70k-plus. Meanwhile, utility vehicles and trucks are still paying a lot of bills in Dearborn, with the new Escape racking up an expected 300k sales and F-Series trucks chugging along at 688,810 units sold thru November.
Toyota makes $100M investment to boost Indiana Highlander production
Mon, 25 Aug 2014Toyota has announced that it will be making a $100 million investment in its Princeton, IN factory in a bid to increase production of its popular Highlander CUV. The move will create 300 new jobs by 2016 and increase the total number of crossovers the plant can produce by 30,000.
Toyota currently builds the Highlander, alongside the fullsize Sequoia, at Toyota Indiana's West Plant. The additional capacity, though, will be sent to the East Plant, which is currently responsible for production of the recently refreshed Sienna minivan.
"The Highlander has been a great product for our plant," Toyota Indiana President Norm Bafunno said in a statement. "Establishing Highlander as the 'bridge vehicle,' as we call it, between the East and West plants increases our ability to meet customer needs for our outstanding products. This exciting news is a true testament to the capability of our hard-working and dedicated team members."
Why Toyota Camry's Korea Car of the Year win is a big-time upset
Tue, 26 Feb 2013The 2013 Toyota Camry is officially the car of the year in Korea. The country's motoring press graced the Japanese sedan with the honor for the first time, officially marking a shift in prevailing Korean attitudes toward Japan and its products. According to industry analysts, buyers in the country are no longer simply choosing their purchases based on whether or not they're made in South Korea, but rather based on quality and personal choice. That's a big jump from a few years ago, when buyers viewed their purchases through a patriotic lens.
The Camry managed to edge out a total of 44 other cars, including hardware from both Hyundai and Kia, to become the first foreign vehicle to take home the Korea Automobile Journalist Association's Car of the Year award. As The Detroit News points out, just 10 years ago, domestic manufacturers held some 99 percent of the Korean car market. But a change in trade regulations has opened up the country considerably, and buyers now have access to a wide range of products from around the globe. As a result, Hyundai and Kia have countered by cutting prices in an attempt to keep their grip on the market.
