You are looking at a Japanese built 1982 Toyota Celica Supra. This car was running when parked 11 years ago. Since then, the plug wires have been chewed apart and one of the windows busted out. It needed the gas tank replaced, so the owner went and bought a new one(pictured in back of car). Before he could fix it, he went out and purchased a newer truck. The only reason I'm posting this information is because I know the guy pretty well and trust his word without a doubt.

This car has no physical title, but I have what is needed to apply for a lost title.

The run down: Has no catalytic converter, Plug wires are almost gone, passenger window is busted out, windshield is cracked, dash is cracked. ENGINE IS NOT LOCKED UP! He said it would run with the gas tank replaced, a tune up(that includes the plug wires), and a little TLC.

5 Speed Transmission
2.8L I6 DOHC engine
Interior definitely needs cleaning. Back seat is covered with folded seat but the seat is in decent condition.
Front seats are as pictured.
This car is solid; as in no visible or damaging rust.
We are selling as-is.
What you see {in and on the car} is what you get.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask them. The only stupid question is the one you don't ask.

Thanks for looking and Have a Good One!

119K Toyota Avalon sedans recalled over airbag woes

Thu, 27 Mar 2014

Toyota has issued a voluntary safety recall for 119,000 2003-2004 Avalon models because in some cases the airbags could inadvertently deploy.
The automaker says that circuits within the airbag control module could be damaged by electrical noise, which could cause the front airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners to activate. Dealers are going to repair cars by adding an electrical noise filter to the module. Owners will be notified by first class mail.
Toyota Public Affairs Manager Cindy Knight told Autoblog that there was one reported injury caused by the sudden deployment, but there have been no accidents or crashes. The company is currently preparing the parts for dealers now, and the component takes 90 minutes to two hours to install. "We don't believe there are any other affected models," said Knight.

New Toyota semiconductors could increase hybrid fuel efficiency by 10%

Wed, 21 May 2014

Toyota may have an ace up its sleeve in the fuel economy wars, as it's developed a new type of semiconductor that will allegedly help the company's hybrids net a ten-percent improvement in fuel economy.
The tech is still in development, although Toyota is already reporting five-percent gains during testing, six years before it plans to implement the new semiconductor in production vehicles, meaning the ten-percent improvement doesn't seem like an untenable goal. That is, until you hear from Kimimori Hamada, the project general manager of Toyota's electronics division.
"We are aiming for great improvement in fuel economy and miniaturization," Hamada told Automotive News. "This is a very challenging target."

Toyota develops new pre-collision system with steering assist

Sun, 13 Oct 2013

A number of automakers are working on developing fully autonomous cars, but it looks like the groundwork for such technologies will likely show up first as semi-autonomous systems for both safety and convenience. Following recent announcements from Nissan and Ford in this area, Toyota has now released information for some of its advanced semi-autonomous technologies that could be offered in production cars over the next few years.
On the safety front, Toyota's new pre-collision system with pedestrian-avoidance steering assist is aimed at protecting the folks who aren't in the car. This system combines visual and audible alerts with automatic brake assist and automatic steering. If warnings don't get the driver to slow down, the brake assist kicks in if a collision is very likely, but if that is still not able to avoid the impending collision (and if there is enough room to do so), the car can automatically steer itself around the pedestrian. This sounds most beneficial for last-second dangers such as a person accidently stepping out into the road in front of a car. Toyota hopes to have this technology available to customers by 2015.
The Japanese automaker is also testing a suite of technologies called Automated Highway Driving Assist (AHDA). The key part of this is a new adaptive cruise control system that uses vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications rather than a radar-based system. This cooperative-adaptive cruise control allows vehicles to communicate their acceleration and deceleration data with other cars, which Toyota says this helps to improve fuel efficiency and traffic flow. Also a part of AHDA is the Lane Trace Control feature, which sounds like a next-gen lane keep assist. This system uses cameras, radar and a computer to keep the vehicle in a "smooth driving line" by being able to change steering angle, engine torque and braking force. Toyota says this technology could be in place by the "mid-2010s."
