This is a rare 1980 Sunchaser and everything works. This is a 33 year old car that is by no means perfect. Please dont email asking if it has dings and scratches, yes it does, the paint is original and is weak. This is a fun car to drive and be different it is not a show car. That being said here is a list of everything that has been replaced on the car: New -vinyl on targa, convertible and convertible boot, tires, front rotors and pads, rear shoes, clutch master cylinder, fuel pump, fuel filter, distributor, spark plugs and wires, many new hoses, gaskets and vacuum lines, all new fluids and a rebuilt carburetor, A/C has been converted to R134a and is cold. Now for the bad: The power steering motor leaks a little and I have a new one but probably will not install it before selling. The paint is weak and has one small spot of surface rust that has been covered with primer(I tried to show in the picture). It has not rusted through! ( There is no rust damage anywhere on the car) Chrome trim pieces should be replaced along with some weatherstripping. The car is not completely waterproof and Im sure most never were but has no major leaks. I keep it under a cover just to be safe. Upholstery has some tears or holes, its original (tried to show the largest one in picture) and carpet is ok but not great. One speed on A/C heater fan does not work, 2 other speeds are fine. I also have a front end rebuild kit with new bushings, springs and struts that I will sell with the car. The car drives and tracks straight but I bought them on a closeout and felt it would be good to replace after 33 years. Just like most people I never found the time to do it. I bought the car to drive on weekends but new baby means no time for toys. Again the car runs and drives fine for such an old car and I drove it home 200 miles when I bought it before everything was replaced. I have the original owners manuel and 2 service manuels along with a Motor Trend magazine featuring the 1980 Sunchaser as well. The car is supposed to be original miles and was in storage for many years. My local mechanic had no reason to doubt the miles but these are only 5 digit odometers so there is no way to be sure. I have covered everything I can think of but feel free to ask a question before bidding. Winner must make arrangements to pick up vehicle within 2 weeks of end of auction. Purchase must be made in person with cash or at your bank in the Birmingham/Hoover AL area.

2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback, Volvos earn IIHS Top Safety Pick rating
Tue, Oct 2 2018It's time for another round-up of recent IIHS crash tested cars. The trio this time include the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback, 2019 Volvo XC90 and 2018 Volvo S90. All three have earned one of the highest ratings from the IIHS, the Top Safety Pick. And all three continue a trend of very safe cars having slightly below-par headlights, preventing them from earning the highest Top Safety Pick+ rating. Of these three cars, the Corolla Hatchback has the most impressive scores. It earned the highest "Good" rating in every single crash test, including the difficult small-overlap passenger-side collision. It also received the top score for access to LATCH anchors for child seats. The standard forward collision prevention technology also brought home the best score possible, stopping the car before a crash at speeds up to 25 mph. The headlights themselves weren't particularly bad either, earning the second-highest score of "Acceptable" with both the standard and optional LED headlights. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Both Volvos shared similar scores to the Corolla Hatchback, with "Good" ratings for all crash tests they participated in, and top rank for their standard forward collision technology. Both vehicles were not tested for the passenger-side small overlap collision, so there is no score in that area. Both also received the "Acceptable" rating for LATCH anchor access. In the headlight department, the XC90 earned "Acceptable" scores for both of its available headlights, and the S90 received an "Acceptable" for its optional lights, while the standard ones were rated as "Marginal." 2014 Toyota Highlander to start at $30,075*
Tue, 17 Dec 2013We now have pricing for Toyota's redesigned 2014 Highlander, which is seeing moderate price hikes across the board. Prices for the popular crossover have been bumped from less than 1 percent to less than 3 percent on lower-end models (anywhere from $125 to $890, depending on trim). Toyota has increased prices on higher-end XLE and Limited models more substantially - between 4.1 and 4.5 percent ($1,480 to $1,700). The Highlander Hybrid sees its price increase 2 percent ($930). The new model will be available in four different trims and with either front or all-wheel drive.
The absolute cheapest member of the Highlander range, the base LE, with a four-cylinder and front-wheel drive starts at $30,075, an increase of just $195. The LE is also available with a V6 and all-wheel drive, with the bigger engine upping the price to $31,380. All-wheel drive models start at $32,840. A slightly pricier LE Plus starts at $33,600 for a V6 FWD model and $35,060 if you add all-wheel drive.
Next up, we have the XLE, which starts at $36,900 for FWD models and moves up to $38,360 for AWD. The top-tier Limited model starts at $40,500 in FWD spec, grips-at-all-fours versions will retail for $41,960. For those that want the very top of the Highlander range, there's the Platinum Pack, which adds the Driver's Tech Pack (adaptive cruise control, pre-collision warning, lane departure warning and automatic high beams), a panoramic moonroof, heated steering wheel and heated second-row seats to the already well-equipped Limited model. Highlander Platinums start at $42,990 and $44,450, depending on how many tires are doing the work. (Note: All prices include an $860 destination and handling charge.)
