For sale is a 1977 Toyota Celica GT liftback.Thanks to eBay they have made it possible to resource many of the NOS parts from around the world that have gone to restore this beautiful hard to find Toyota Celica GT Liftback .This vehicle has been totally restored and slightly modified and currently has less than 500(75K on original engine)miles on a original rebuilt engine,transmission and drive train.The body was stripped down to bare metal and was painted with three coats of Toyota 202 black followed by four coats of clear.The black paint was then color sanded to a high gloss black finish.All of the panels were removed and chemically stripped to bare metal(not a bit of rust was found on any of the panels)then painted separately by Carmers body shop.The only rust on the vehicle was in the spare tire well(common) and some underneath the battery.(Both areas were addressed and repaired).The window trim,windshield,the tail lenses,license panel,rubber seals,chrome door trim,antenna mast and two of the side marker light are brand new NOS.The brake system was replaced including NOS brake calipers.All of the engine accessories including radiator,alternator,starter,drive shaft (rebuilt and balanced)etc were replaced with new components.The car has a fresh exhaust system similar to OEM.The undercarriage is as clean as the top.

To improve performance a Canon intake manifold paired with a Weber carburetor were added along with a DUI ignition system.Some of the components were polished to a high luster.(the original Asin rebuilt carburetor,distributor and intake manifold and refinished silver valve cover come with the vehicle).New KYB struts and shocks are also installed.

The interior is also brand new as well as the all interior panels and door panels were professionally redone and the seams were sewn in as opposed to heat seams as were the original.The seats were reupholstered using a Madrid grain vinyl and the center panels were in such great shape they were incorporated in the new seats.

A new carpet kit,headliner were also installed.The original rear shock covers and tail light access panel were sourced and installed to finish off the interior.

An after market sound system was professionally installed which includes a 9 series kenwood head unit,infinity speakers,a kenwood subwoofer and two amplifiers provide

music.

New Michelin Defender tires and Toyota Supra aluminum wheels were installed at the time of the restoration.

Issues:The tachometer is working sporadically and one light stays on.

However to address the tach issue,the purchase includes a brand new Speed Hut GPS speedometer and tachometer are included but not yet installed,500.00 value.

Vehicle will come with additional spare parts and 2 car covers.

The Mercedes-Benz S-500 Plug-In Hybrid has earned an Environmental Certificate from the TUV Sud technical inspection authority. The award is based on a lifecycle assessment of the vehicle. This includes the ability to reduce CO2 emissions by 43 percent through charging, and by 56 percent if charged using hydroelectricity. Read more in the press release below. Daimler is expanding its production capacity for lithium-ion batteries. The company is investing around 100 million euros in its subsidiary Deutsche ACCUmotive, who will provide batteries for the electric Smart Fortwo and Forfour, as well as various Mercedes-Benz models. By the end of the construction, Deutsche ACCUmotive will have quadrupled production and logistics space since 2011. Read more in the press release below. Honda has begun sales of its Grace hybrid sedan in Japan. The Grace is based on the Honda Fit and uses the automaker's Sport Hybrid i-DCD system. It comes in front- and four-wheel-drive versions and uses a seven-speed DCT with built-in motor. The Honda Grace starts at the equivalent of about $16,500. Read more in the press release below. Honda has begun operation of its wind farm in Brazil. The farm consists of nine wind turbines, expected to produce about 95,000 MWh of electricity per year, which is on par with Honda's consumption for automobile production in the country. Toyota has won the 2014 World Endurance Championship's Driver and Manufacturer categories with hybrid technology. Toyota celebrated the win after the final race in Sao Paolo, Brazil. Controlled Power Technologies and other groups are calling for an international 48-volt electrical standard for vehicles. The groups called for the standard at the International Conference Automotive 48 V Power Supply Systems, saying that the 48V standard for mild hybrids would help make the systems more affordable. This will make it easier for automakers to meet the more stringent CO2 standards anticipated in coming years along with the introduction of the World Light vehicles Test Procedures. Toyota, Daihatsu and Suzuki team up to unbox some fun-size electric kei vans

The G7 Summit is happening in Hiroshima, Japan, right now and some automakers have taken the opportunity to announce new projects. Toyota, their wholly owned subsidiary Daihatsu, and Suzuki (of which Toyota owns about 5%) made news with a trio of electric micro-vans built to kei car specifications. The battery-electric vans are part of an industry-wide push toward carbon neutrality. Kei-class vehicles, in addition to limited displacement gasoline engines, have strict dimensional restrictions that allow them to navigate the often narrow streets in dense urban areas. They're also privilege to certain tax breaks and parking benefits. [gallery ids="2474953,2474954"] The engine size rules obviously don't apply to the electric vans, but they will still conform to the size boundaries. Kei vans are often used to solve the "last mile" problem in logistics since they're able to whiz around crowded streets inaccessible by larger commercial vehicles. Daihatsu, which specializes in kei cars, will build the vans and name their variant the HiJet Cargo. The HiJet name has been a consistent one in the company's lineup since 1960, but these new versions will be front-wheel-drive in contrast to the rear-wheel-drive gasoline variants. Toyota's version will be called the Pixis Van, while Suzuki will be named the Every, a nameplate that's been around since 1982. Aside from the badges the vans appear identical. Range is said to be approximately 200km (124 miles) on a single charge. The exhibition was held in conjunction with the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, which former Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda heads. Toyoda stepped down from the top position at the company his grandfather founded in April, but still takes a overseer role as Chairman. Toyoda was criticized for being slow to adopt EVs, and new CEO Koji Sato has emphasized the role of battery-electrics moving forward while still taking a multi-front approach to carbon neutrality with hydrogen and hybrids. These vans were likely in development before Toyoda's retirement, though.
