Condition: ALL HISTORICAL SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST I've owned numerous cars and this vehicle has by far had the best engine performance/health. The engine and performance is perfect. There is one small scratch the size of a finger nail on the right side of the vehicle. Other than that, this car has been to the body shop once to have the rear bumper painted due to a rock that scraped the paint (3 inches in length from being scraped by a rock). No damage and dents have been done to affect the safety or the performance of the car. Since I've only owned this car for 2.5 years, there are still many existing warranties, which include: BASIC 3 yr./ 36000 mi. DRIVETRAIN 5 yr./ 60000 mi. HYBRID COMPONENT 8 yr./ 100000 mi. This car also has an auxiliary chord for listening to music from ipod/iphones, which has been very nice with the quality car speakers. Since it's a hybrid, I've only had to refuel every 1-1.5 months. History: This vehicle was bought at Toyota of Apex, NC, and I have been the only owner. This vehicle has only been driven by me and has been used primarily for commute to school and occasionally nearby restaurants, hence the little mileage. Toyota recalling 11,200 Scion iQ models over faulty passenger sensors
Wed, 07 Nov 2012Toyota has announced a voluntary recall of 11,200 Scion iQ models from the 2012 and 2013 model years. According to the manufacturer, the problem with these pint-sized hatchbacks concerns the front passenger Occupant Classification System (OCS) weight sensor cables.
The OCS sensors in the front passenger seat control the operation of things like the airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioner. In these affected models, the cables for these sensors located in the seat track can become damaged as the passenger seat slides forward and backward. And if the cables are damaged, the airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioner may not function properly.
No injuries or crashes have been reported in conjunction with this issue.
Toyota and Lexus recalling 235,000 hybrid CUVs and sedans over separate issues
Wed, 04 Sep 2013When it rains, it pours. Toyota has announced a pair of separate but voluntary North America recalls covering approximately 235,000 vehicles built between 2006 and 2011. The larger of the two recalls targets Toyota's hybridized crossovers, the Lexus RX400h and Toyota Highlander Hybrid. 133,000 units, including 2006-2010 Highlander and 2006-2008 RX crossovers are covered in the campaign. The other recall affects 102,000 IS350 sedans, IS350C convertibles and GS350 sedans built between 2006 and 2011.
With the CUVs, the faults in the parallel circuits of the transistors can cause heat damage in the inverter assembly, triggering an abundance of warning lamps and sending the vehicle into limp mode. The Lexus sedans are being recalled due to loose bolts on the variable valve timing controller. Detected by unusual underhood sounds on startup, the issue can cause the engine to stop while driving. The inverter issue is also triggering similar recalls in Japan and Europe.
At the moment, it's unclear if any of these issues have caused any crashes or injuries. Toyota says it plans to notify owners of the recall via snail mail. Toyota releases teaser for Kaley Cuoco Super Bowl ad
Wed, 23 Jan 2013Toyota has released a 35-second teaser video for its upcoming Super Bowl spot staring Kaley Cuoco, the actress best known for her role as object-of-nerd-affection Penny on The Big Bang Theory. The real star of the ad, however, is its soundtrack, the 1995 hit "I Wish" by rapper Skee-Lo that will have your mind cashing nostalgia checks the moment it hits your ears.
We still don't know much about the content, plot or story of this Super Bowl commercial, though we can say that its object of promotion is likely the new RAV4 we see Ms. Cuoco driving in this teaser. The rest of the time she's walking the street in a purple getup granting wishes like Robin Williams on a Disney sound stage. And then the Easter Bunny and a chihuahua enter the picture and we get lost. Clint Eastwood under a bridge this is not.
