2010 Toyota Camry Le Sedan 4-door 2.5l on 2040-cars
Whitewater, Wisconsin, United States
My wife purchased this car new in the fall of 2009. It has been a great car for her, and she is letting it go only because she has recently purchased a new convertible that she has always wanted. This car has been properly serviced by the Toyota dealer since new. In 2013 the car received new tires, new battery and the suggested 80,000 mile service which includes tune-up, tire rotation and balance, coolant service, filter(s) replacement and brake inspection. The exterior of the car shows very nice, with only a couple of minor parking lot dings and scratches here and there. She has had these minor blemishes professionally touched-up at our local body shop (see photos). The interior shows nearly new, with 3 tiny blemishes on the drivers seat and one on the passenger side rear seat (photos). The car has power seats, windows, locks and mirrors. Recently she had a remote start added to the car, which is a really nice feature for cold winter starts. She loves this feature, as it allows her to start and pre-warm the car while the car is still locked and secure, before she even gets to it, whether at home or at the mall. This is a one owner, adult lady driven, well cared for car that looks and drives nearly new, and needs nothing. The 4 cylinder engine is surprisingly quick and gets great gas mileage in the mid to upper 30's. Most mileage is highway miles, many of them back and forth to Iowa to attend to an elderly family member. Synthetic oil since new. I had the oil changed on May 31st. Additional features include power assisted rack and pinion steering, 4 wheel disc brakes, driver and passenger advanced front air bags, seat mounted side air bags, rear side curtain air bags and drivers knee airbag. It also has a direct tire pressure monitor system, daytime running lights and a rear window defogger. AM/FM CD player with Satellite capability with 6 speakers. Remote keyless entry system, power driver seat with lumbar support. Tilt forward/telescopic adjustable steering wheel with steering wheel audio control. Outside temperature gauge and digital clock. Clear title in hand. Non-refundable 500.00(PayPal) required within 24 hours of sale. Balance to be paid in cash at pick up. I am open to pre-inspections.

Toyota recalling FJ Cruiser due to excessively bright headlights
Sun, 05 May 2013Now, hold on. This recall isn't quite as serious as it sounds. Yes, Toyota is recalling 11,489 FJ Cruiser models from the 2007 to 2013 model years, and yes, it's because the vehicles, as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration states, "fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108, 'Lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment.'" But read the fine print and you'll see the catch: This recall is only for vehicles fitted with the automaker's auxiliary lighting kit that can be mounted to the front bumper.
Basically, the auxiliary lamp assemblies use 55-watt bulbs, and when these are turned on in conjunction with the upper beam headlamps, it's a pretty blinding sight. NHTSA states that excessively bright lights can blind other drivers, increasing the risk for a crash.
To remedy the situation, Toyota will replace the 55-watt bulbs with cooler 35-watt units. The recall is expected to begin later this month. Scroll down for the full details in the NHTSA report.
Suzuki will road-test EVs in India, start production with Toyota in 2020
Fri, Sep 7 2018NEW DELHI — Japan's Suzuki Motor Corp will start testing prototypes of electric vehicles in India by October, its chairman said on Friday. "We will start road-running tests using a fleet of 50 EV prototype vehicles in India from next month in order to develop safe and easy-to-use EVs for Indian customers," Osamu Suzuki said at the Global Mobility Summit at New Delhi. The company would then launch EVs in India around 2020 in cooperation with Toyota, he added. However, Suzuki said that for EVs to become popular in India, there had to be well-developed charging infrastructure. "In this regard, we look forward to proactive leadership from the Indian government," he said. The government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a plan to electrify all new vehicles by 2030, a target many experts call ambitious. EVs are expensive due to the high cost of batteries which are still not manufactured in India, and carmakers say a lack of charging stations could make the proposition unviable. Suzuki, parent of India's top-selling automaker, Maruti Suzuki, would start production of lithium-ion batteries for automobiles at its plant in western India from 2020, Suzuki said. India is one of the world's fastest-growing car markets, but EV sales are negligible compared with millions of petrol and diesel cars sold every year. Suzuki said to meet India's environmental challenges, the government would have to look at hybrid and CNG (compressed natural gas) vehicles also.Related Video:
Weekly Recap: Toyota wants cars to be your 'close friends' around 2020
Sat, Oct 10 2015Toyota confirmed plans this week to launch autonomous technology in its production cars around 2020. The automaker's version is called Highway Teammate, and it's one element of a broader mobility strategy that includes vehicles communicating with each other and the grid. "Toyota believes that interactions between drivers and cars should mirror those between close friends who share a common purpose, sometimes watching over each other and sometimes helping each other out," the company said in a statement. That sounds utopian, and perhaps a bit cheesy, but it's an acknowledgment that autonomous driving requires more than technology developed in a vacuum. Toyota is looking at its research in a broader context, and dubs its overall strategy the Mobility Teammate Concept. Highway Teammate is the first step. Its test vehicle is a modified Lexus GS, which uses road-mapping data and external sensors to merge or exit highways, change lanes, and maintain safe distances during driving. It's operated on the Shuto Expressway in Tokyo. Toyota has been working on autonomous tech since the 1990s, with the goal of providing mobility for older people and the disabled, as well as lowering the frequency of traffic accidents. Toyota's push comes as an early adopter, Nissan, is hedging on its own deadline to implement the autonomous tech by 2020 due to a lack of firm laws governing self-driving cars around the world. Conversely, Volvo took the landmark step of being the first automaker to accept liability for when its cars will operate in autonomous mode, and urged the US government to set federal guidelines to regulate the technology. OTHER NEWS & NOTES 2016 BMW M4 GTS: Your water-injected, turbo-boosted demon BMW is unleashing its most powerful M4 ever, a 493-horsepower special edition that's road legal yet bred for the track. The company is making 700 copies for sale around the world, and 300 of them will come to the United States. The twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder revs to 7,600 rpm and uses a water-injection technology to cool the intake air and lower the compression temperature. BMW says this allows it to wring more power out of the inline six. The car also uses carbon-fiber reinforced plastic for the roof, hood, engine compartment strut brace, drive shaft, and rear spoiler to reduce weight. The M4 features BMW's organic light-emitting diode taillights, which are said to be an industry first.
