I am the original owner of this 2009 Camry sedan. This car runs and drives perfect and has absolutely no problems. All recommended scheduled maintenance has been performed by the dealer. The brakes (rotors and pads) are brand new all around and the tires have 50% tread life remaining. This car has a 5 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION. It is NOT AN AUTOMATIC. The clutch is in perfect condition as I have been driving manual transmission for many years. The exterior is very clean and has never had any body work. The "accident" listed on carfax is bogus. There was no damage to the car and the listing shows regular service 3 days after. The interior is in great shape, has never been smoked in and has brand new factory carpeted floor mats. This car is a comfortable/smooth ride, very fuel efficient, spacious and practical. It's reliability is legendary, thus helping it to retain it's percentage of original value better than any other midsize sedan. Here's a chance to own a newer Camry for thousands less than what a dealer will charge you. I have priced the buy it now option in accordance with its Kelly Blue Book private party value. This car is available for local pickup only. I will not ship. A $500 downpayment is due within 48 hours after the auction closes. This can be made through paypal. Do not pay any more than this through paypal. The remaining balance can be paid on pickup. This car is for sale locally and is listed on autotrader. Please understand that the auction will be cancelled if it sells through another venue. Happy bidding!

177k Toyota Camry Hybrids being recalled for brake issue
Mon, 11 Aug 2014It looks like Consumer Reports might be getting part of what it wants regarding the Toyota Camry Hybrid and its braking system. Toyota is issuing what it calls a limited service campaign, rather than a full recall, covering about 177,500 of the hybrid sedans from the 2007 through 2011 model years because of an issue with the cars' brake fluid reservoirs.
The models have a filter separating two chambers of the brake fluid reservoir, and the part can get clogged over time. If this happens, the fluid level in one of the chambers can get too low and eventually cause the power assist to fail. There are multiple warning lights on the dashboard that illuminate over time if the filter gets obstructed, though. The company is replacing the entire reservoir with an improved unit, and the fix takes about two hours to perform.
Consumer Reports recently began asking for a recall on these models for the potentially clogged filters. The magazine also reported a second issue with the ABS brake actuator that could lead to a difficult to depress brake, but Toyota has increased the warranty on the part to 10 years or 150,000 miles.
Toyota found not at fault in alleged unintended acceleration crash
Fri, 11 Oct 2013Toyota has already paid out millions and billions of dollars in settlements surrounding unintended acceleration, but the first lawsuit in the matter, which headed to a California court in July, has reached a verdict. Following the 2009 death of Noriko Uno, whose 2006 Camry was hit by another car and then sped out of control before crashing into a tree, the jury found that Toyota was not at fault in the crash.
Even though the 2006 Camry (shown above) wasn't involved in any of the unintended acceleration-related recalls and it was not equipped with a brake override, Automotive News reports that the jury's verdict says there was no defect in the car and actually blames the entire incident on the driver that ran into Uno's car - to the tune of $10 million. The accident started when the other driver ran a stop sign and hit Uno's car, and the report says that medical conditions (including diabetes) caused Uno to fail to stop her Camry.
The AN article also states that this lawsuit was a bellwether case for around 85 other personal-injury and wrongful-death suits against Toyota, but there are still many impending suits across the country. Scroll down for an official statement on this particular case from Toyota.
