I am a graduate student in Pittsburgh and am looking to sell my Toyota Camry "AS IS".  The cost of the car is $3900 or best offer.  The car is licensed in Ohio, where I am originally from, and will likely need a PA inspection upon sale.  I have maintained inspection in Ohio and have a full report of repairs/maintenance that have been performed on the vehicle.

The car is in excellent shape, no rust, runs great, and is fantastic on gas.  I am the second owner of the vehicle and have owned it for 5 years.  Currently, the Camry has 129,136 miles on it.  It's only "major" blemish is that it suffered some body damage on the rear/passenger door (seen in pictures).  The car is still driveable, the door works fine, and there is no structural damage to the rocker panel or frame of the car.  I had initially planned to sell the car for a higher amount, but have decided to drop the price in case potential buyers want to repair the body damage.  The reason I am selling the car is to upgrade to a new vehicle.

Below are some details regarding the Camry:

AC
CD and tape cassette
Dual Airbags
Power door locks
Power windows
Bucket seats
Cruise control
Intermittent wipers
Power mirrors
Rear window defroster
Tilt steeling wheel
Cloth seats
Digital clock
Power brakes
Power steering
Alloy wheels

Below are some of the major repairs performed on the Camry in the 5 years that I have owned the car:

Timing belt and water pump replacement at 97,358 miles - October 2008
Catalytic converter replacement at 100,102 miles - March 2009
Stabilizer bar, links, springs replacement at 101,285 miles - August 2009
Alternator, battery, and electrical replacement at roughly 115,000 miles - February 2011
Tire replacement at roughly 115,000 miles - June 2011.....The tires I purchased were advertised as 90,000 mile warrant and I have only put roughly 15,000 miles on them.
Exhaust piping and muffler replacement at 119,971 miles - June 2012
Brake pads and roters replacement at 119,971 miles - June 2012
Front strut assembly replacement at 127,587 miles - May 2013
I have also maintained oil change/lube/filters/fluids and tire rotation every 3,000 miles

I plan to give the Camry a thorough cleaning prior to sale for any potential buyers.

BMW-Toyota sports car heading towards Tokyo debut

Mon, 20 May 2013

Earlier this year, BMW and Toyota confirmed a four-part joint venture mostly focusing on increasing improving vehicle efficiency using fuel cells, lightweight materials and better battery technology. Also tucked into the announcement was a "feasibility study" for a shared platform to underpin a future midsize "sports vehicle."
In terms of the latter, it seems that things have stepped up from the feasibility stage to the conceptual stage, as Motor Trend reports we could see a pair of new sports car concepts debut later this year in at the Tokyo Motor Show. There isn't much information about the new program, but the article suggests the sports cars could be all-wheel drive hybrids, with electric motors powering the front wheels and a gas engine powering the rear wheels. While a partnership between Toyota and BMW might not lend itself to a catchy portmanteau like "Toyobaru," here's hoping it will bear fruit that is as exciting as the ones produced by the Toyota/Subaru tie up.

Toyota Me.We concept is a multifunction Tupperware car [w/video]

Wed, 24 Apr 2013

Not to be outdone by the Renault Twin'Z concept penned by Welsh designer Ross Lovegrove, Toyota has partnered up with French designer Jean-Marie Massaud to create the 2013 Toyota Me.We Concept. Unveiled at Le Rendez-vous Toyota in Paris, the Me.We Concept is an attempt to imagine a car that can be appreciated by owners across a wide variety of lifestyles while being courteous to the environment, too.
From a "Me" perspective, the concept is highly customizable with removable body panels, and even though it might look like just a small hatchback from the outside, Toyota claims it can also be used as a pickup (with an extendable rear panel), a convertible (with a neoprene roof panel) and even an off-road vehicle. As for the "We" part of the car, it's a fully electric vehicle with individual in-wheel motors and a battery pack mounted under the load floor. The concept has a weight of around 1,600 pounds kept low thanks to an aluminum chassis, but it also features renewable bamboo wood for the floor in addition to the fully recyclable polypropylene exterior body panels. Japanese dealer petitioning Lexus for luxury van [w/poll]

Thu, 13 Mar 2014

Used to be that if you wanted a luxury automobile - especially one to be chauffeured around in - your choices were basically limited to a sedan. It could be bigger or smaller, more or less expensive, depending on your needs and budget, but it was always going to have four doors and a trunk. But these days the rich and famous are looking elsewhere for their commodious forms of pampering transportation. There are, of course, the crossovers and SUVs, which only seem to be getting bigger and more expensive thanks to the likes of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, Range Rover L and upcoming Bentley sport-ute. But luxury vans are becoming the new big thing.
That's the point that one dealer in Japan is trying to make to Toyota. The dealership owner himself reasons that if he's going out on the town, he's likely to take his chauffeured Lexus LS. But if he's taking a few friends along, even the biggest sedan isn't going to cut it. So he takes a Toyota Alphard (pictured above, also known as the Vellfire), a JDM van that's even bigger than a Voxy/Noah or Sienna but hardly a high-end affair. That's why he's asking Lexus to make a luxury van.
The idea may seem a little far-fetched, but isn't without precedent. It didn't take much for Lexus to transform the Land Cruiser into the LX and thus create its first luxury SUV. And as Mercedes has shown with pimped-out versions of the Sprinter and now with the debut of the new V-Class in Geneva, there's clearly a market for it... in some countries, anyway. The only question in our minds is how long it's going to take other luxury automakers to catch on, because let's face it: the Chrysler Town & Country ain't gonna cut it for those used to be driven around in a Maybach.
