Dark Green 2000 Toyota Camry CE. Auto. 4 cyl. Power Windows and Door Locks.
Runs Great. Just rolled 200K miles. Engine runs strong, transmission shifts smooth.
Only consumes about a quart of oil every 2000-2500 miles or so, which is normal according to manufacture for the mileage, does not leak oil. Regular oil changes, well maintained. Body is in good condition with minimal rust, the most prominent rust is the passenger side rear wheel well as shown in pictures. Car is solid. Gets good gas mileage, 25MPG city, 30MPG plus highway. Complete exhaust system replaced within the past 12 months including cat. converter. Interior in good shape for age, normal wear. The worst of the interior is the rugs, could probably do with some new mats, if I get the right price I might even go buy a new set for you. I also recently replaced the factory radio with a double din touch screen with bluetooth, dvd, cd/mp3 and upgradable to nav with an antenna and map sd card. Also replaced the a/c blower resistor last fall.
Tires are in decent shape, I'd say at least 10K miles left on them. Car is excellent in the snow and a smooth ride. All four struts were replaced @ 170K miles. The only issues with the car are #1 there is a light on the dash the is supposed to alert you when a tail light burns out. For some reason it stays on. All lights have been checked and work perfectly. #2 is it sends a check engine light and gives a code for the Evaporitive Emission System. This system is designed to help reduce gas fumes during refueling by recapturing the fumes and using them. It in NO way affects driveabilty, but generates a code. I have had system checked and everything always comes out ok, clear the code and it stays gone for a while before popping up again. As stated though, it does not affect the engine in any way. Inspection good thru July 2014. I am also including an older Actron Code Reader since I purchased a newer on. It is useful for reading and clearing check engine codes.
CLEAN CarFax report available upon request.

Toyota Prius sales could come up short in 2013

Sat, 06 Jul 2013

A Toyota executive has said that the automaker's hybrid Prius model may not reach its 2013 goal of selling 250,000 units in the US marketplace. Bill Fay, group vice president for Toyota's US sales, told Reuters, "The 240,000 to 250,000 range is kind of where we're settling our sights for the Prius family."
The first-generation Prius, a five-passenger model, was introduced to the States in 2001 (its arrival made it the second mass-produced hybrid, after the two-seat Honda Insight). The second-generation model arrived in 2004, followed by the current third-generation design that arrived for the 2010 model year. The automaker has subsequently added the Prius V, a hatchback wagon (shown above) and the Prius C, a subcompact hatchback. As of March, 2013, cumulative worldwide sales of the Prius had reached 3.67 million units.
Last year, Toyota sold 236,659 Prius models in the US. However, sales of the model have fallen 5.1 percent in the first six months of 2013. In response, the automaker has boosted its marketing for the model, and the promotions are expected to continue through at least July.

Toyota Tacoma helps stand up to your girlfriend, mimes, magicians and the Grim Reaper

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

It takes a lot to get a product noticed in today's fast-paced world, but one avenue that's always seemed to grab the eyeballs of consumers has been humor. Toyota knows this rule well, and has put together a quartet of spots called "Tacoma Wins," in which the midsize pickup's features and specifications best a number of seemingly worthy competitors.
Whether it be sobbing girlfriends, a circus magician, a grim reaper or the scariest thing of all, a mime, the Tacoma looks well equipped to deal with it. Take a look below for all four of Toyota's newest spots.

How many Toyotas are potentially affected by seat fabric problem?

Fri, 31 Jan 2014

When we reported yesterday on Toyota's stop-sale order of certain 2013 and 2014 models due to an issue with the fabrics on models with heated seats not conforming to flammability regulations, one of our many questions was how many vehicles were affected? More importantly, how many of those cars have already found homes?
Kelley Blue Book has the troubling statistics. Every 2013 and 2014 Avalon features heated seats. 6.2-percent of 2013 and 4.5-percent of 2014 Camry sedans, meanwhile, were sold with heated seats. That doesn't seem as bad as 100-percent of the larger Avalon, until you consider the Camry's huge volume - the 5.6-percent average still accounts for a lot of cars. Sienna minivans are heavily affected as well, with a total of 37-percent of 2013s and 46-percent of 2014s fitted with butt warmers. The stop-sale only affects 7-percent of 2014 Corolla models, but like the Camry, that number is rather misleading due to the sheer volume of cars Toyota moves. You can see the entire breakdown of percentages by clicking on the inset image.
According to Karl Brauer, a senior analyst for KBB, this problem comes at the worst possible time. "Given that much of the US is currently in the grips of a record cold snap, there's sure to be high demand for models with seat heaters," Brauer notes. The stop-sale order is a good first step, but it doesn't do anything to inform consumers who currently own the affected models and may, in these frosty temperatures, want to use their seat heaters. "Should owners of those vehicles stop using the seat heaters?" Brauer asked.
