Up for auction is 1 weekly driven 1988 Toyota 4runner SR5 sorry i took the pictures on a gloomy day while it was raining a little. The truck needs cleaning especially the top. This is a southern truck and I see no rust issues anywhere. It has a new battery and alternator installed within the past year. it has 220,678 miles at the moment the engine does not smoke and runs strong. The 4wd works fine it has side steps rail bars and sunroof. The car had an expensive radio at the time installed but it does not work i think it is a wiring issue? The body is straight except a few dents in the rear liftgate and a bumper end that is dented. It has a Roll bar and removable rear top. All the electric windows work even the rear hatch window. The cruise does not work nor does the A/C it did last year maybe a recharge? It has the optional alloy wheels with full spare. otherwise it is very original ORIGINAL PAINT AND STRIPES. You can drive this anywhere. it is loaded with power mirrors locks etc. This was the SUV to have in the 1980's they do not make them like this anymore! I am selling this for a friend he is the 3rd owner. If you have any questions please ask before bidding payment due within 7 days after auction. The reason he is selling it is he has a RANGE ROVER AND A HONDA and there is not anywher to park. I am starting this auction with no reserve DIRT CHEAP!!! CLEAR TITLE very original rust free 4wd v6 1988. Please do not bid unless you are serious if you want to look and drive the car we can do arrange a time in Birmingham Alabama. I feel this truck is worth every cent and more. Any questions ask and i will reply. If you want more pics we can e-mail them to you last chance dirt cheap need room!

Toyota to recall 185k cars globally, including Yaris
Thu, 04 Jul 2013Toyota has announced it is recalling a total of 185,000 vehicles worldwide for a power steering issue. Yaris and (overseas) Vitz models built between November 2010 and March 2012 could suffer a short circuit in their power steering control module if water gets inside. Should that happen, the power steering could fail, increasing effort when turning. The recall also includes the Verso-S and Ractis built from August 2010 to August 2011. The recall covers 130,000 vehicles in Japan and around 22,450 in Europe.
Only 74 units are being recalled in the United States.
Toyota says if the fault occurs, the vehicle will display the Electronic Power Steering warning light on the dash and a buzzer will sound. The automaker will alert owners by mail and dealers will replace the power steering control module free of charge. You can read the quick press release on the recall below for more information.
Toyota's refreshed Sai is a Lexus HS by any other name
Wed, 04 Sep 2013Toyota first launched Lexus in the United States back in 1989, but it wasn't until 2005 that it brought the luxury marque home to roost. But don't think that Toyota didn't find a way of selling many of its premium models in the Japanese Domestic Market in the meantime. The Lexus LS was sold as the Toyota Celsion, the ES as the Vista and Camry Prominent, and the SC as the Soarer. (We could go on, but you get the point.)
These days Lexus sells in markets around the world, including Japan, but Toyota still spins off its own versions of Lexus models to sell domestically as well. Like the new Sai, for example. Sharing its platform, hybrid propulsion and much more with the Lexus HS (which you may remember as the world's first dedicated luxury hybrid until it was pulled from the market early last year), the Sai was introduced to Japan at the same time as the HS was rolled out around the world. Now nearly four years on the market, Toyota has given it a bit of a refresh.
Boasting a far more aggressive front end and a restyled rear, the revised Sai features LED headlights, 16-inch alloys and a higher-quality interior in which JDM buyers will find a new center console and trim, along with an optional 10-speaker infotainment system. Toyota also boasts that the new Sai is made of 20-percent Ecological Plastic and recycled resin.
Toyota restructuring US operations, possibly moving to Texas
Sun, 27 Apr 2014According to multiple sources familiar with the matter, Toyota is poised to announce Monday that it is restructuring its US operations, which may include plans to relocate some of its operations to Texas. Toyota Motor Sales has been located in California since 1957, and is responsible for North American sales, marketing, and distribution for Toyota, Lexus and Scion. According to Toyota literature, its Torrance operations presently employs 6,156 workers and represents a $2.3-billion investment.
Workers in Toyota's Torrance offices were abuzz about the possible relocation to Texas. One young offspring of a Toyota employee even posted to Twitter that her parents warned about the upcoming move, and she said she's refusing to go.
Rumors at one point had Toyota settling in Richardson, TX, just outside Plano. But Autoblog talked to Richardson Mayor Laura Maczka, who said she would be thrilled if that were true, but has not heard anything on the subject. Autoblog also emailed with Bill Sutherland, a city councilman in Torrance, CA, who said, "To date the only info I have is what I have read in the paper expecting a press release Monday."
