UP FOR AUCTION IS A 1992  SR-5 4X4 TOYOTA 4 RUNNER, THIS VEHICLE IS WEARING ITS ORIGINAL PAINT ON EVERY PANEL, THE PAINT IS VERY SHINY AND GLOSSY, THE PANELS DOWN THE SIDES ARE VERY STRAIGHT AND CLEAN.  I SEE ONLY ONE VERY  SMALL DOOR DING ON THE DRIVERS DOOR ONLY , THERE IS NO HAIL DAMAGE ON TOP OF THIS VEHICLE, THE ONLY ISSUE IS THAT THERE IS A SPOT OF CLEAR COAT ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE FRONT TOP FENDER " SEE PICTURE" THAT HAS RECENTLY STARTED LIFTING  , I PULLED THIS VEHICLE FROM STORAGE AND IT SPENT A FEW NIGHTS OUTSIDE, IT HAD 2 VERY SMALL SPOTS OF CLEAR COAT BLISTERING ON THAT UPPER FENDER, IT HAD RAINED ON IT ONE NIGHT AND THE NEXT DAY THE WATER HAS GOTTEN UNDER THE CLEAR COAT IN THOSE SPOTS AND CAUSED IT TO LIFT, OTHER THAN THAT THE PAINT IS UNBELIEVABLY NICE FOR ITS AGE, IF THE TOP OF THE FENDER WERE PAINTED  YOU WOULD HAVE A NEAR PERFECT LOOKING  TOYOTA . STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL FACTORY SR-5  STRIPING ON THE SIDES ITS ALSO VERY NICE COND, THIS VEHICLE APPEARS TO HAVE  NEVER BEEN IN THE BRUSH OR SCRATCHED OR SCRAPED,OR CRAWLED OVER ROCKS OR LOGS, NEVER IN ACCIDENT, ALL PANELS ALIGN PROPERLY. REAR BUMPER CORNER ON PASS SIDE HAS A CORNER DING,"SEE PICS".THE UNDERCARRIAGE LOOKS NEARLY NEW AND UNBELIEVABLY CLEAN., NO RUST HOLES OR SOFT SPOTS IN FRAME OR FLOORS, UNDERCARRIAGE IS SUPER NICE AND VERY CLEAN NO SIGN OF OFF ROAD ABUSE, FACTORY RUNNING BOARDS ARE NOT ROTTEN OR DENTED, THEY ARE VERY NICE.THE SKID PANS UNDER THE TRUCK  ARE UNTOUCHED .APPARENT THAT THIS VEHICLE HAS NEVER CLEANED OUT A MUD HOLE AND HAS NOT BEEN A GRAVEL ROAD REGULAR. HAS A VERY NICE DRAW TIGHT TYPE TRAILER HITCH. THE EXHAUST SYSTEM IS CLEAN AND SOLID, NOT ROTTED OUT, APPEARS TO BE ORIGINAL.

THE FUEL INJECTED  3.0 V-6 ARE KNOWN TO RUN SEVERAL HUNDRED THOUSAND MILES WITH SIMPLE MAINTENANCE, I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL HI MILE TOYOTA'S AND NISSAN'S IN THE PAST I HAVE HAD A COUPLE TOYOTA'S THAT WERE CLOSE TO 500K MILES AND STILL RAN PERFECT. THERE ARE ALOT OF THESE VEHICLES  STILL ON THE ROAD. IN MY OPINION THIS PARTICULAR  ENGINE IS JUST GETTING BROKE WITH ONLY 226K MILES  IN IT STARTS VERY EASY, NO SMOKING, NO TICKING, NO KNOCKING ,NO LEAKING, NO BLOW BUY NO MISSING .IT RUNS VERY SMOOTH, QUIET  AND CORRECT,  RUNS NICE AND COOL AND HOLDS GOOD STEADY OIL PRESSURE. NOT A GOOEY SLUDGED UP PENNZOIL MOTOR. HAS HAD TIMING BELT REPLACEMENT AT ON POINT AND HAS HAD A RECENT TUNE UP, NGK PLUGS CAP ROTOR, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS ARE ON. I DO ADD FLUID TO THE POWER STEERING PUMP  ON OCCASION THERE IS A SLOW LEAK, I BELIEVE IT IS IN A HOSE . THE PUMP STILL FUNCTIONS PROPERLY . 

THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS PROPERLY AND HAS CLEAN RED FLUID, THE PAN IS DRY WITH NO DRIPS OR LEAKS ON THE DRIVEWAY, SHIFTS FLAWLESSLY THE OVERDRIVE WORKS, THE 4X4  WORKS FLAWLESSLY IN HI AND LOW RANGE. NO LEAKS FROM TRANSFER CASE.

THE INTERIOR IS VERY CLEAN AND VERY WELL KEPT, THIS VEHICLE HAS NOT HAULED PIGS AND HAS NOT BEEN A CRUMB CRUNCHER KID HAULER, HAS NEVER SEEN A HAPPY MEAL OR SPILLED DRINK.THE CARPETS ARE VERY CLEAN  UNDER THE CARPETED FLOOR MATS.  NO EXOTIC STAINS OR WORN OUT SPOTS, NO FUNNY SMELLS . AREA BETWEEN SEATS AND CONSOLE ARE CLEAN AS A PIN. NO OLD FRENCH FRY'S OR SPILLED GOO. THE SEATS ARE ALSO VERY NICE AND STAIN FREE, DRIVER SEAT HAS HAS A STITCHING REPAIR AT ONE TIME ,A NICE JOB. ,THE REAR CARGO AREA IS CLEAN LIKE NEW NO STAINS SNAGS OR WEAR SPOTS.  DOOR PANELS ARE SUPER CLEAN, WEATHER SEALS ARE VERY NICE. HEADLINER IS VERY NICE , DASH IS VERY NICE, CONSOLE AREA IS VERY NICE. THE LEATHER STEERING WHEEL IS ALSO INTACT, I HAVE PUT A COVER ON IT TO PROTECT IT. ALL POWER OPTIONS ARE IN WORKING ORDER AT THIS TIME, LOCKS, WINDOWS, CRUISE CONTROL, POWER SUN ROOF, POWER REAR WINDOW WORKS FLAWLESSLY, AFTERMARKET KENWOOD AM/ FM CASSETTE STEREO "CASSETTE PLAYER IS NOT WORKING"  ALL DASH GAUGES WORK PROPERLY, NO CHECK ENGINE OR WARNING LIGHT ARE ON. ALL EXTERNAL LIGHTS WORK PROPERLY, HAS A GREAT HEATER AND CHARGED AND FREE SPINNING  AC COMPRESSOR, ALL GLASS IS CLEAN AND CRACK FREE, NO CRACKS IN WINDSHIELD.WIPERS WORK.
ALL 4 TIRES ARE LIKE NEW, 98% TREAD, ALL ARE WEARING EVEN AND PROPERLY,  THE ALLOW WHEELS  ARE SPOTLESSLY CLEAN AND NEVER CURBED OR BENT, VEHICLE DRIVES VERY STRAIGHT AND VERY TIGHT, SUSPENSION IS NOT LOOSE OR SLOPPY,GOOD TIGHT SHOCKS, RIDES VERY NICE. Bring back the Bronco! Trademarks we hope are actually (someday) future car names

Trademark filings are the tea leaves of the auto industry. Read them carefully – and interpret them correctly – and you might be previewing an automaker's future product plans. Yes, they're routinely filed to maintain the rights to an iconic name. And sometimes they're only for toys and clothing. But not always. Sometimes, the truth is right in front of us. The trademark is required because a company actually wants to use the name on a new car. With that in mind, here's a list of intriguing trademark filings we want to see go from paperwork to production reality. Trademark: Bronco Company: Ford Previous Use: The Bronco was a long-running SUV that lived from 1966-1996. It's one of America's original SUVs and was responsible for the increased popularity of the segment. Still, it's best known as O.J. Simpson's would-be getaway car. We think: The Bronco was an icon. Everyone seems to want a Wrangler-fighter – Ford used to have a good one. Enough time has passed that the O.J. police chase isn't the immediate image conjured by the Bronco anymore. Even if we're doing a wish list in no particular order, the Bronco still finds its way to the top. For now (unfortunately), it's just federal paperwork. Rumors on this one can get especially heated. The official word from a Ford spokesman is: "Companies renew trademark filings to maintain ownership and control of the mark, even if it is not currently used. Ford values the iconic Bronco name and history." Trademarks: Aviator, AV8R Company: Ford Previous Use: The Aviator was one of the shortest-run Lincolns ever, lasting for the 2003-2005 model years. It never found the sales success of the Ford Explorer, with which it shared a platform. We Think: The Aviator name no longer fits with Lincoln's naming nomenclature. Too bad, it's better than any other name Lincoln currently uses, save for its former big brother, the Navigator. Perhaps we're barking up the wrong tree, though. Ford has made several customized, aviation themed-Mustangs in the past, including one called the Mustang AV8R in 2008, which had cues from the US Air Force's F-22 Raptor fighter jet. It sold for $500,000 at auction, and the glass roof – which is reminiscent of a fighter jet cockpit – helped Ford popularize the feature. Trademark: EcoBeast Company: Ford Previous Use: None by major carmakers.

Mini Minor to be co-developed with Toyota

It was back in 2011 when Mini first showcased the prospect of an even smaller hatchback with the Rocketman concept at the Geneva Motor Show. In the nearly four years since, parent company BMW has hemmed and hawed on the possibility of putting it into production, but the latest word from Europe has it that the project is a go. According to Automobile magazine, Mini is realigning its product portfolio into five pillars: the essential hardtop we've already seen (available in two/three- and four/five-doors), the convertible, the upcoming new Clubman wagon (coming this summer with full-size auxiliary suicide doors on both sides), the next-gen Countryman crossover in 2016 and two new model lines. One will be the production version of the Superleggera roadster concept, earmarked for 2018. The other will be the Minor, a smaller city car reviving a long-gone model name and presaged by the aforementioned Rocketman concept. But for that last one, Mini won't go it alone. To develop the mini Mini, BMW will reportedly turn to its partnership with Toyota. The relationship is already set to yield a new Supra and Z4 and share fuel cell and other technologies. But this would broaden the partnership to include a small hatchback. However rather than use the existing (or next-gen) Aygo, which is already built under joint venture with PSA Peugeot Citroen (with which BMW previously had a joint engine venture), word has it that the BMW and Toyota will develop a new platform for the project – one that will be used by both partners. The new product plan doesn't leave much room for the Mini Coupe and Roadster (which have already been discontinued), for the Paceman three-door crossover (which will suffer the same fate) or for the projected seven-seater minivan. But the addition of the new Superleggera roadster and super-mini Mini aren't likely to leave us wanting for either. Related Video:

HyFive hydrogen infrastructure gets $51M boost across Europe

"High five!" was one of the catch-phrases of Sacha Baron Cohen's Kazakh comedic alter ego Borat. A real-world HyFive is being announced by a power broker named Boris. And this is serious business. London Mayor Boris Johnson has announced a program called HyFive, which will see automakers and other entities invest 31 million British pounds ($51 million US) in a demonstration project for hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles. By next year, London will have three hydrogen refueling stations, while there will be one each in the Danish cities of Aarhus and Odense and one in Innsbruck, Austria. Leaders of the program are planning for other stations in Sweden, Germany and Italy. The five participating automakers are BMW, Mercedes-Benz parent Daimler, Honda, Hyundai and Toyota, while other companies involved include Copenhagen Hydrogen Network, ITM Power and Linde. Those OEMs will make 110 fuel-cell vehicles available for deployment in Bolzano, Copenhagen, Innsbruck, London, Munich and Stuttgart. The program represents an effort to address the "chicken or egg?" challenge inherent to establishing a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle market. While the powertrain technology provides benefits by combining fossil-fuel-like refueling times with long driving ranges and zero emissions, establishing a refueling network and building fuel-cell vehicles is prohibitively expensive, especially in low volumes. The London mayor is no stranger to green transportation technology. Late last year, Johnson made himself available for a photo opportunity with Ecotive and Frazer-Nash, which had developed a six-passenger extended-range plug-in taxicab.
