Front tires can be replaced soon (see photos)."

This is a 2009 Toyota 4Runner SR5 in silver metallic.  This SUV runs great and looks great.  This vehicle has never seen any snow or road salt.  Never near a flood.  The odometer is currently at 73,034.  Over 90% of these miles are highway miles, up and down I-95.  The SUV has a few paint chips from road debris.  No body damage other than that.  I was struck in the rear in a low velocity accident a couple years ago.  The bumper cover was torn and required replacement.  There was no structural damage to the vehicle.  The trailer hitch was not even damaged.  This vehicle has a Kenwood Excelon single DIN, DVD receiver with a motorized, flip up screen.  This unit includes a DVD player, XM satellite radio, navigation system, CD player, AM/FM radio, bluetooth, and a back up camera.  A Viper alarm system is installed.  This vehicle has leather seats.  Genuine sheepskin, custom made seat covers are installed on the front seats.  There is a Husky, model specific, heavy rubber, cargo area liner.  Also included is a Toyota rear area cargo net for keeping groceries or other items secure in the rear cargo area.  Power windows, power steering, cruise control, leather seats, tow package, full size spare, tilt wheel, keyless entry, running boards, tinted windows, alloy wheels, and a roof rack. This car has been well maintained and well cared for.  The full size spare has never been used.  The rear tires are in very good condition.  The two front tires will need replacement in the near future.  On the AutoCheck Report there are some "issues" that pop up.  One is this vehicle was a fleet vehicle.  A McDonald's regional manager drove this car for the first half year after it was manufactured.  Two, is the accident.  This is detailed above.  There was no structural damage to the vehicle.  Three is some odometer issue.  The car was initially registered in Louisiana with 5 miles on it.  Five months later, when McDonald's sold it, the car was sold at auction in Louisiana and purchased by a dealer in Florida.  I bought it from that dealer.  Mileage was 13,472.  The clerk at the Florida title office did not come out to the parking lot to physically read the odometer at the time of registration.  As a result, there is some notation of "not actual miles."  The odometer does, in fact, read the actual miles.  The vehicle has never been stolen.  There is no title issue.  I have a clean title in hand.  There is no lien.  The AutoCheck report contains inaccuracies (like a lot of them do).  As a result, the AutoCheck score of 64 is simply wrong.  This is a good, clean, reliable vehicle with no substantive issues.  If you need a loan or want to make payments, please see your banker or your rich uncle prior to placing a bid.  Vehicle and title will not transfer until payment has cleared.  $1,000 deposit due via PayPal upon acceptance of winning bid.

Toyota and Subaru file patents for performance FR-S and BRZ

Wed, Nov 11 2015

People have longed for a more powerful version of the Subaru BRZ, Scion FR-S, and Toyota GT86 since the triplets arrived on the market. So far, neither partner in the deal has launched a model to fully satiate that hunger. However, the Japanese patent office recently approved documents from Toyota for the design of a vehicle that looks just like the Subaru STI Performance Concept (pictured above). According to AutoGuide, the filing also gives Fuji Heavy Industries credit for the design. The STI Performance Concept debuted at this year's New York Auto Show as an early step in STI's attempt to expand its reach here. The BRZ-derived coupe featured a body with a ground-scraping front bumper, tweaked headlights, wider fenders, a massive rear wing, and diffuser with a center-exit exhaust. All of these elements also show up on the patent renderings. The concept was just as exciting under the hood because STI installed a 2.0-liter, turbocharged boxer four-cylinder from its GT300 racer, and upgrades for the chassis, suspension, and brakes came from the Japanese market's BRZ tS. While the coupe made hearts race, the company was clear it didn't necessarily plan to build the model. Patent filings aren't a guarantee for production, and even if this one does arrive in showrooms, it might not come to the US. That's because Subaru and Toyota have a history of creating Japan-exclusive versions like the tS or Style Cb. That being said, spy shots have revealed a camouflaged GT86 testing in Europe, and rumors indicate more power from the engine. Subie's boss has even confirmed the existence of a partnership to create a next-gen model. Related Video:

Toyota NA CEO says his excitement for hydrogen sedan is rising

Fri, Apr 4 2014

Toyota has an undeniable vested interest in seeing its hydrogen sedan succeed when it goes on sale in the US next year, so it's no surprise that the company's North American CEO, Jim Lentz, says that he's got more hope for the car now than ever before. And if we remember ways that others in the company, like Bob Carter, have loudly sung hydrogen's praises, we have to assume that positivity is running awful high in Torrance. In fact, Lentz said that the US side of the company is far more excited by the H2 car than colleagues in Japan. Speaking at The Wall Street Journal's ECO:nomics conference in Santa Barbara, CA this week, Lentz said: After we've seen the product, understand its range, its driving dynamics, its refueling, we're a lot more bullish than Japan - probably about fivefold more bullish. It's just a question of how many can be produced now. Well, we've driven this car, and we still feel that Toyota is placing a big bet on the technology. One important issue is cost, but Lentz would not say exactly how much the car costs to make or what it will be priced at. He did say, though, that the production cost has dropped by 95 percent from the $1 million price tag the car wore ten years ago. That hints at a production cost of around $50,000. Lentz also said he thinks it will take at least a decade for hydrogen vehicles to hit sales of 500,000 per year in the US. Speaking to Bloomberg, he said: Their acceptance could get off to a quicker start than the hybrids did. I think you're going to see a lot more marketing of the concept of fuel cell much sooner than you did for hybrids, because basically the whole industry is behind it.

Buy a Toyota GT86 and your wife will hate you

Wed, 14 Nov 2012

Marketing can be a very strange business. Convincing a man or woman (or child, really) that they absolutely cannot live without the latest, greatest new bit of technology oftentimes takes a unique approach. In the "online film promoting the Toyota GT86" you'll see below, created by agency Happiness Brussels, men are reverse-psychologied into thinking a new sports coupe will make them more masculine by getting their loved ones to hate them. Or something like that. We think.
In any case, we suggest you watch the video below to see how much fun men can have with a GT86 - or Scion FR-S or Subaru BRZ, presumably - at the expense of their significant others. Fair warning: There's a potential Not Safe For Work moment in the ad: beware of a brief male butt shot about 44 seconds in.
Marketing. Gotta love it. Unless you're married to a man. Or something like that. We think. Whatever, just watch.
