2006 Toyota 4runner Sr5 Sport Utility 4-door 4.0l on 2040-cars
Little Rock, Arkansas, United States
I bought this truck about three months ago with grand visions of me driving it on woods expeditions and taking camping trips and going where no man has gone before. It has set in my shop with a battery maintainer hooked up to it for over a month now. My visions were greater than my time. So I'm selling it to buy a sports sedan! I'll use that! Sure thing! (I'm sure you will see my new sports sedan advertised on here in a couple of months)
I bought this from a local attorney who had driven it for about three years. It was his daily driver and he traveled the state. It runs GREAT. I was shocked at how smooth and powerful it is running around town. The lift does not effect the ride and handling at all. No rubbing, no wandering, no problems. It has some modifications: - Toytec leveling kit. - ARB front bumper - Warn M8000 winch - IPF lights - 285/70R17 Nitto All Terrain tires, still in excellent condition - American Racing Teflon Mojave wheels, perfect condition - Pioneer head unit with satellite and USB hookups, no navigation. The paint condition is incredible and scores a 9/10. There are about four rock chips on the hood, no rust, not all the way through the paint but they are there. The rear bumper has a crack in it and the picture represents it well. I did not notice it the first time I saw the car so it is not bad but it is there. Interior looks and smells like new. I am shocked at how clean the interior is. Non smoker vehicle. Mechanically the truck is in great condition with no worries about driving to California tomorrow. Previous owner was a stickler for maintenance. If you have any questions please let me know. I can get other pictures if needed. Thank you. Thomas 501-352-4702 |

Toyota Prius sets a different kind of Nurburgring lap record [w/video]
Tue, 15 Jul 2014Scroll down the leaderboards of Nürburgring lap times and you'll see mostly racing cars, supercars and sports cars. Delve deep enough and you'll eventually get to hatchbacks and sedans, albeit the most performance-focused of their kind. But a hybrid? Sure, the Porsche 918 Spyder posted the top time for a street-legal series production car, and it's technically a hybrid, but we're talking about another kind of hybrid here. We're talking about a Toyota Prius.
That's right: the Prius just set a lap record around the Nordschleife. But it wasn't for the lap time. In fact, miles per hour barely factored in (except for staying above the minimum 37-mph average speed mandated on the vaunted racing circuit). No, this was about miles per gallon.
Toyota took one of its Prius Plug-In hybrids to the Nürburgring, topped up the battery, put on a set of low-rolling-resistance tires and put automotive journalist Joe Clifford behind the wheel with a mandate to use as little fuel as possible. After one second shy of 21 minutes, the Prius completed its lap having used just five tablespoons of fuel.

Tue, 30 Jul 2013Raising A White Flag To The Competition
We all benefit from highly competitive battles. In the automotive sector, few campaigns are so closely fought as the decades-long struggle for supremacy in the fullsize half-ton pickup truck segment. The Ford F-150 has dominated for ages, but Chevrolet, Ram and GMC have been closing the gap with freshly redesigned trucks that are rocking the industry.
Today's half-ton trucks are better than they've ever been, and we have fierce competition to thank for that.
A new Toyota MR2? We want to believe
Thu, Mar 9 2017In the wake of a busy Geneva auto show, the rumor mill is churning, and the latest grist involves one of the most beloved Toyota sports cars of all time. EVO reports that Tetsuya Tada, the chief of the Scion FR-S/Toyota 86 project and a hard-liner about sportscar priorities (light and nimble, but with modest horsepower), wants a third vehicle for Toyota's nascent sporty lineup. Currently, we know there's a Supra-like vehicle in the works, being co-developed with BMW, and the 86 is sticking around. Tada said he'd like a third sportscar to compliment the two we know about, and that he wants it soon. A quick bit of history: Toyota's classic sporty lineup had three components. The most visible was the Supra, whose power and prestige grew as the car evolved from a cushy personal tourer to a high-horsepower, high-technology icon. The Celica was its Clark Kent, more mild mannered but also more accessible and affordable. The third was the MR2, a mid-engined go-kart that lasted for three distinct generations. Each had its charms, and all have their fans. When Tada says that he wants three sportscars in the lineup, we already know about the Supra successor, and the 86 is already filling the Celica's role, so the blank is easy to fill. It doesn't sound like Tada spoke the word "MR2" to EVO, or hinted that the car would be mid-engined, but Tada doesn't seem to say anything without purpose. Whatever the layout, this third car – if it comes to fruition – will probably play a role similar to the MR2 in relation to its stablemates. To translate: it'll likely be even lighter and more nimble, and probably less powerful, than the 86. The closest real-world analogue to the pure MR2 ideal is the Honda S660, a mid-engined Kei roadster that's on sale in Japan right now. It's light, small, and powered by a 0.66-liter inline-three. Toyota could decide to directly compete with the S660, borrow an engine from its small-car specialist subsidiary Daihatsu, and produce a mid-engined MR2. Another possibility, even simpler from Toyota's perspective, would be to adapt the existing Daihatsu Copen roadster. Sure, it's front-engine and front-wheel drive, but it's a small, light roadster. And even better, it sells abroad with a larger 1.3-liter engine. Restyle it slightly, perhaps to resemble the S-FR concept of a couple years ago, and it's an off-the-shelf solution. The S-FR itself is a third possibility.
