For sale is a very hard to find 2005 Toyota 4Runner V8 Sport with 89,871 miles. Clear title. It is has a black exterior and dark grey interior. It has silver trim on the inside which matches the silver trim on the sport model exterior.  Automatic transmission (4WD) with power sunroof, windows, locks etc. It has the sport package that gives you the scoop hood, rear wind deflector, fender flares, silver roof rack and rear silver trim. It also has running boards, wheel locks, and the towing package.

It has a clean car fax and I am the second owner of the vehicle. I purchased it as a certified used car from Leesburg Toyota in February 2011. The "Route 66" Extended Warranty is fully transferable to the new owner and will run until 2/25/15 or 100K miles, whichever happens first. Its a fairly comprehensive warranty so google it if you want all of the specifics.

I have always had it serviced by ASE Certified technicians at the local Toyota dealership. The 4Runner has been garaged both at work and at home since I have owned it.

I take very good care of my vehicles and this is no exception. All scheduled service is completed to include:

* Water pump and timing belt ($2,000 repair that all 4Runners require this repair at 90K miles)
* New brakes (pads and calipers) and resurfaced the rotors
* Top of the line Michelin LTX MS2 tires
* Front CAM and Crank Seal Replacement
* Front CV boots (left and right / inner and outer)
* Drive Belt

I have put substantial money into aftermarket accessories to include -

* K & N Air Intake - $400
* Borla Exhaust System (cat back)- $1500
* Front Bull Bar - Genuine Toyota Accessory - $500
* Viper Alarm System with remote start, window roll up/down with two way pager -$1500
* Pioneer Double Din GPS Head Unit with rear/back - up camera - $1000
* 2 sets of Polk Audio component speakers - $850
* Rockford Fosgate 4 channel amplifier - $400
* Sub Box with 2 10" Kicker Subs - $500
* LA Tint Platinum Window Tint - Lifetime Warranty - $400
* Heavy Duty black rubber all weather mats - $100

The truck drives beautifully. It tracks straight, runs strong and is very smooth throughout the power band.

There are a few scratches that are consistent for a car of this age. There is also a small crack in the front grill guard from when I tapped the back of someone else's car accidentally. The interior is clean and everything works perfectly.

I have several parts for the car that will convey to the new owner - floor mats (brand new Toyota Set), Factory Airbox, and Stereo with speakers.

This is a great truck that is worth the money.

The 4Runner was just given an oil change and a detail and is ready for its new owner to drive it away!

$1000 deposit due within 48 hours of auction close. Full payment due within 7 days of auction close. No cashiers or personal checks. Cash Only.

Toyota, Ford decide to end hybrid collaboration before it starts

Tue, 23 Jul 2013

Not all so-called Memorandum of Understanding pacts end in actual collaborations. For instance, after a two-year "feasibility study," Toyota and Ford have just announced that they will not be developing hybrid systems for use in light trucks and SUVs as previously planned, and the two automakers will instead continue to develop their own hybrid technology independently.
The would-be collaboration was first announced in August of 2011, and would have seen a rear-wheel-drive hybrid platform that would "improve the efficiency of trucks and SUVs while still allowing them to be driven in the way customers expect," according to our initial post on the topic.
Keep in mind that this announcement isn't to say we shouldn't expect hybrid pickups and SUVs from the two automakers, but that they probably aren't coming very soon - Ford says it will have a system "before the end of this decade" and we haven't heard much from Toyota on the hybrid truck front since the 2008 A-BAT Concept (pictured above) - and that they will not share any components between them (and they never have, for what it's worth).

All of the Bond cars of 'No Time To Die' (caution for spoilers)

Thu, Sep 30 2021

Note: The following overview of the cars in No Time To Die contains spoilers. Read at your own risk, or come back after seeing the film to make sure you caught everything.   No Time To Die picks up right around where Spectre leaves us. James Bond (Daniel Craig) and Madeleine Swann (Lea Seydoux) are driving along in Bond’s restored and iconic DB5 in Matera, Italy. Things donÂ’t stay all that cheery for long in picturesque Matera, though. As is tradition in Bond films, the first car chase hits us with an explosion of action in what's a super-long opening scene. Fourth-gen Maserati Quattroporte: The baddies in the beginning are driving a Maserati and chasing after Bond in the DB5. Specifically, theyÂ’re in a fourth-gen Quattroporte, which feels right for a chase scene in Italy. Its squared-off looks are mean enough, and its Italian growl is a good background soundtrack to the DB5Â’s inline-six. In addition to the Quattroporte, the chase scene in Matera is home to a couple of the best stunts of the entire movie, including the arch jump done with a Triumph motorcycle seen in trailers — Matera is extremely hilly. Eventually, Bond and Swann find themselves in the DB5 again together, which is where the famous gatling gun scene from the trailer commences, but not before the bulletproof windows and body of the DB5 are thoroughly tested. RIP to the first-gen Range Rover Classics and Jaguar XFs that joined the Maserati in pursuit of Bond (here's a list of other Bond cars over the years). As the DB5 escape scene concludes, we catch a glimpse of what appears to be a Ferrari from the 1970s. However, the view was far enough away that weÂ’ll need a second look to be sure of the exact model. Land Rover Series III: Next time we see Bond, heÂ’s fishing in Jamaica and driving around a blue Land Rover Series III. ItÂ’s yet another of the many Land Rover products featured throughout the film, and unlike most of BondÂ’s Aston Martins, this one doesnÂ’t seem to have any unique features. The other intriguing vehicle out of Jamaica? An old Chevrolet Bel-Air expertly and effectively piloted by Bond newcomer, Ana de Armas. Next up, we get a few shots of the new and still-not-for-sale Aston Martin Valhalla mid-engine supercar (also seen in trailers). BondÂ’s old boss M is in the scene which appears to have been shot in some secret wind tunnel of sorts. Much to our dismay, nobody ends up driving the Valhalla in the film. Could it be a teaser for what the next 007Â’s car is?

Toyota launches new Passo hatchback in Japan [w/video]

Fri, 18 Apr 2014

With considerable manufacturing capacity here in the United States and even a NASCAR program, it'd be all too easy to categorize Toyota as an American automaker. Only it's not. It's Japanese, of course. And back in the Japanese Domestic Market, it offers a whole range of models we'll never see in North America. Models like the Crown sedan, Noah minivan and this, the new Passo hatchback.
Sold in various markets as the Daihatsu Boon, Daihatsu Sirion, Perodua Myvi and (for a time) the Subaru Justy, the Toyota Passo is a compact hatchback that slots in size-wise between the Yaris sold in America and the Aygo offered in Europe (except the Passo is taller than either).
Power comes from a 1.0-liter engine with 69 horsepower that can be had in front- or all-wheel drive, or a 1.3 driving 95 horses to the front wheels alone. A continuously variable transmission is on duty regardless of engine choice. Front-drive models get a stop/start system, but even all-wheel-drive versions are eligible for government tax credits. That's because, though the new Passo only appears to be mildly updated, the engines have been thoroughly reworked to deliver 30-percent better fuel economy than the previous model, coming in 20-percent better than the standards being enacted by the Japanese government for next year.
