St. George, Utah, United States

Up for sale is my 02 4Runner.  She has been a joy to have and I don't want to sell but a growing family makes it a necessity.  I am the second owner of this car and it has been babied it's whole life.  The original owner was an older gentleman who babied it as much as me.  It has lived it's life in the dry climate of Southern Utah so it has not been exposed to the salt, snow, or humidity of anywhere else.  I have never had any mechanical issues with it and I have been religious about preventive maintenance and regular Full Synthetic oil changes.  As mentioned in the description there is a small scratch on the front bumper (2"x1/16").  Other than that it has a great, straight body and the paint looks amazing.  It has been garaged, and kept OCD clean and detailed.  Gets great gas mileage because of the intake and exhaust (18-22 mpg). These old body style 4runners are hard to find in this great of condition!

Extras:
Cold Air Intake
Aftermarket Exhaust & Chrome Tip (Not annoyingly loud, more deep and throaty)
New Rancho RS5000 Shocks and Struts front and rear
265/75/R16 BF Goodrich Wranglers with lots of aggressive tread left
Tinted Windows, front and rear
New Windshield
Clear Front Marker Lights (they look a lot better than the yellow stock ones)
Brand New $150 Interstate Battery (as of 5/23/14)

Shipping:
Local buyers are always welcome.  If you would like it shipped I am happy to meet up with a shipping company for pickup here in St. George, UT per your arrangements and on your dime.

Payment:
Cashiers Check or Cash Preferred.  Payment must be received in full within 7 days of auction close.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.  Thanks for looking and happy bidding!

Toyota recounts past Supra glories

Mon, 29 Jul 2013

It could just be a slow start to the news week around the Toyota offices, but its UK blog has posted a brief history on its legendary Supra sports car. Read into however you'd like, but there has been plenty of speculation as to the return of the Supra nameplate in recent years (including last month from incoming Toyota chairman Takeshi Uchiyamada).
Built from April 1978 through July 2002, Toyota's sports coupe made quite a name for itself as both the Celica Supra (shown above) and the Supra, and the blog post charts many of the changes and highlights through the years. Head on over to the Toyota UK blog to read more about this Supra's history, and then be sure to check out the gallery of images from Toyota spanning all four generations.

Consumer Reports calls on Toyota to recall older Camry Hybrid models

Thu, 31 Jul 2014

Consumer Reports is calling on Toyota to issue an official recall of 178,000 Camry Hybrid sedans from model years 2007 to 2011, claiming that a pair of issues affecting the brakes are so dire they demand a more official action than what the company has undertaken so far.
The first issue, as CR tells it, relates to a clog in the brake-fluid reservoir filter, which if left untreated could lead to a number of dashboard warning lights. The "front brake assist could be temporarily lost," too, according to Toyota's own notice to dealers and owners of affected models. The company has issued a "service campaign" that will fit a new brake-fluid reservoir free of charge to any affected model brought to a dealer by June 30, 2017.
The other issue plaguing the fuel-sipping Camrys is being treated via a warranty extension, and focuses on the ABS brake actuator, a particularly expensive (both in terms of parts, at $1,000, and labor, around $3,000) item that is necessary for the anti-lock braking to function. There's also a related issue with the brake pedal's "stroke sensor," which like the actuator can lead to a very difficult-to-depress brake pedal. The warranty extension increases the coverage of the actuator to 10 years or 150,000 miles (whichever comes first).

Toyota nears $40B cash reserve as calls grow for new investment, payouts

Wed, 05 Feb 2014

With the April 15 tax deadline just a few months away, our US readers will be faced with a decision should they get a refund: save or spend? It seems this issue is one many of us face whenever there's a windfall, trying to decide whether we should set the money aside in an account of some sort or use it as a down payment on a new car or a trip to the Apple store. Unsurprisingly, major corporations face a similar, albeit more complex, issue.
Take Toyota, for example. With President Akio Toyoda at the helm, the Japanese manufacturer has gracefully weathered recalls and natural disasters, all while turning beaucoup profits. Last quarter, profits quintupled to 434.4-billion yen ($4.3-billion USD), according to Bloomberg. Toyota also upped its forecast for the end of fiscal year 2013 (which ends on March 31 for Japan), to a record 1.9-trillion yen (about $18.8 billion). Now, the Japanese brand is reportedly sitting on a cash pile of nearly $40 billion, leaving Toyoda-san in an envious predicament - what should the company do with all that money?
Some think Toyota should be doing something, anything with that big stack of cash.
