1989 Toyota 4 Runner Classic Sr-5 V6 Only 148k Miles, Original Not Messed With! on 2040-cars
San Antonio, Texas, United States
CLASSIC TOYOTA 4 RUNNER ORIGINAL SURVIVOR If you're a fan of the first generation Toyota 4 Runner, than this should grab your attention. I always thought these were neat vehicles, and for years when I saw them locally for sale...I'd go take a look. But I always ended up disappointed, as most were messed with, modified or just plain rusty and beat up! I recently found this truck here in Texas. The man had bought it from a man claiming it stopped running in 2006. The thought was fuel pump and there was a brand new in the box fuel pump on the floor when I bought it. Upon going to install it...I found the old fuel had gone way bad. So I pulled the tank, had it professionally cleaned, installed the fuel pump and she fired right up after some cranking. I have driven the truck and it runs pretty damn good for sitting for seven years. The transmission shifts very smooth and the brakes stop good. The steering is not all sloppy either. The body is extremely nice and absolutely no rust through. The paint is fair but original. The wheels are still original. The back top is removable and there is a factory roll bar. The truck came with a V6, Automatic with Four Wheel Drive, AC, (not currently blowing cold) Power Windows, Tilt Wheel, Power Locks, Power Mirrors, Sun Roof, Cruise Control and it has leather seats. The truck has 148,000 original miles which for 1989 is super low. Inside the truck is fair...the dash has cracks and I have ordered a new dash mat that will look much better. The factory radio it gone too. Most the electronics work, the passenger and rear window are not powering down at the moment. The engine has good oil pressure and does not over heat! What you see is what you get. You could likely fly down and drive her home. If you have questions...please call Houston Wills at 210-548-1310 Many Thanks!!! PAYMENT AND STORAGE

Toyota Recalls 1.9 Million Prius Hybrids
Wed, Feb 12 2014TOKYO (AP) - Toyota is recalling 1.9 million hybrid Prius cars globally for a software glitch that could cause the vehicle to stall. Toyota Motor Corp. said Wednesday that 997,000 Prius cars in Japan, some 713,000 in North America, another 130,000 in Europe and the rest in other regions are being recalled for a problem in the software to control the hybrid system. No accidents or injuries have been reported related to the problem. The software could cause transistors to become damaged, causing warnings lights to go off, driving power to be reduced or the car to stop. The recalled vehicles were manufactured between March 2009 and February 2014. The Japanese automaker suffered massive recalls starting in 2009, affecting more than 14 million vehicles for problems including floor mats, gas pedals and brakes. Affected vehicles include: 2010-2014 Prius vehicles, 2012 Toyota RAV4, 2012-2013 Toyota Tacoma and 2012-2013 Lexus RX 350 vehicles sold in the United States. Suzuki will road-test EVs in India, start production with Toyota in 2020
Fri, Sep 7 2018NEW DELHI — Japan's Suzuki Motor Corp will start testing prototypes of electric vehicles in India by October, its chairman said on Friday. "We will start road-running tests using a fleet of 50 EV prototype vehicles in India from next month in order to develop safe and easy-to-use EVs for Indian customers," Osamu Suzuki said at the Global Mobility Summit at New Delhi. The company would then launch EVs in India around 2020 in cooperation with Toyota, he added. However, Suzuki said that for EVs to become popular in India, there had to be well-developed charging infrastructure. "In this regard, we look forward to proactive leadership from the Indian government," he said. The government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a plan to electrify all new vehicles by 2030, a target many experts call ambitious. EVs are expensive due to the high cost of batteries which are still not manufactured in India, and carmakers say a lack of charging stations could make the proposition unviable. Suzuki, parent of India's top-selling automaker, Maruti Suzuki, would start production of lithium-ion batteries for automobiles at its plant in western India from 2020, Suzuki said. India is one of the world's fastest-growing car markets, but EV sales are negligible compared with millions of petrol and diesel cars sold every year. Suzuki said to meet India's environmental challenges, the government would have to look at hybrid and CNG (compressed natural gas) vehicles also.Related Video:
Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel cell coming to US Northeast in 2016
Sun, 16 Nov 2014Looks like someone was able to read the future back in July. That's when rumors first circulated that Toyota's upcoming fuel cell vehicle will be called the Mirai. Today, Toyota president Akio Toyoda confirmed the name alongside plans to build out a hydrogen refueling infrastructure in the US Northeast.
In Japanese, mirai (??) means "future," which is a fitting name for a car that Toyota believes represents the direction the auto industry will go in the coming years. In a promotional video announcing the name, Toyoda said, "For [Toyota], this isn't just another car. This is an opportunity - an opportunity to really make a difference. And making a difference is what Toyota is all about."
To help that future come into existence, Toyota CEO Jim Lentz also disclosed the vague outline of a fuel cell infrastructure investment that Toyota and partner Air Liquide will make in a five-state Northeastern corridor that consists of Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island. The Mirai will be available there in 2015 and Toyota is going to build 12 stations in and around New York and Boston to support the launch. More details will be available later.
