1989 Toyota 4 Runner 2 door factory removable top. 4x4, auto, V6 (179k)

-Great mechanical condition, upper end rebuilt including head gaskets, timing belt plugs, wires, h20 pump, etc done in 2012 then driven to Colorodo and back with no issues what so ever!No leaks or spots marked in driveway.

-Driven daily, A/C works well. Upgraded Stereo with cd/aux/ usb for ipod. Upgraded speakers ( kenwood or polk?). Everything works including cruise control. Runs and drives good.

-Upgrades done in 2010-11 include a :4 inch suspension lift with Rancho shocks, ARB front bumper with rough country lights (working), Custom rear bumper with D-ring mounts , 5 inch fender flares and very cool "glowing" IPF headlamps.

-33" BFG mud terrains with about 1/2 tread left mounted on Black steel wheels (2010) 15k miles (roughly)

-Nitrogen Bump stops on rear axle ( 4 "). Awesome for pulling any light trailer or cargo 9 (see last pic).

-Unfortunatley there is the usual rust on the rear quarters and  the hardtop (tried to take good pics). FLOOR, FRAME and rest of truck look good. In my opinion its the only problem with the truck.

-The exterior was originally Grey, but has been repainted some time ago with a teal which is pretty much flat.

-The interior is  clean and presentable for its age / mileage. Minor stains and or wear ( no obvious holes).

-Good, clean KY title in my name.

-Reserve is way less than what I have in the truck. I really enjoy the truck and would love to keep it but need to sell soon. Message me,  I'll be glad to answer any questions via e-mail, text or phone.

-Truck is located in Louisville, KY 40222

- Thanks for looking!

Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race Scion FR-S [w/video]

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

Toyota has been hosting its Pro/Celebrity race at the Toyota Grand Prix on Long Beach since 1977. The charity event, which has raised millions of dollars over the years, traditionally pits Hollywood celebrities against professional athletes (including race car drivers) on the full Grand Prix course in modified street vehicles. The short, sprint-style race is popular with the crowds as the amateur drivers race uninhibited - the result is an action-packed race with plenty of excitement and automotive... er... carnage.
Over the decades, the drivers have raced a variety of Toyota products including last year's front-wheel-drive Scion tC. But this year, Toyota announced at the Chicago Auto Show that the new rear-wheel-drive Scion FR-S would be stepping up to the plate. The good news only became better when Toyota Motorsports invited us out to Southern California's Willow Springs Raceway (the same circuit where the drivers train and practice) to be one of the first behind the wheel.

Toyota GT86 CS-R3 rally car presages for-sale customer racecar

Thu, 31 Jul 2014

Rallying may enjoy a very strong association with all-wheel drive, but it wasn't so long ago that the World Rally Championship was populated by cars that slipped and slid across gravel and tarmac using rear-wheel drive. One of those was the Toyota Celica. While the little Celica eventually joined the gravel-spewing masses with an all-wheel-drive rally car, Toyota is returning to its rear-drive rally roots with a modified version of the critically acclaimed GT86.
Called the CS-R3, the new model boasts all the necessary changes to turn the diminutive twin of the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ into a car capable of tackling the tough, twisting paths that are so routinely conquered by the world's rally cars. That means, of course, the CS-R3 has gotten a power bump.
Expected output sits between 240 and 250 horsepower, thanks to a new racing exhaust and manifold, as well as other changes. The ECU has been replaced with an item a bit more suited to racing, while the compression ratio has also been adjusted to boost the output.

Reprising The Recipe For A Perfect Slice Of Toast
My toaster broke the other week. Halfway through the process of cooking my gourmet Pop-Tart breakfast, the thing crapped out with a small bang, leaving my delicious morning treats trapped inside. To rectify the situation, I ventured out to a big box store, located the toaster aisle, and ran a couple of questions through my mind. Do I need two slots or four? Do I need to spend more than 20 bucks on this thing? Should I just buy a toaster oven to give me a wider range of bachelor-pad cooking functionality? After no more than two minutes of contemplation, I grabbed the cheapest one on the shelf, paid and left the store. The new toaster works just fine.
This sort of unemotional shopping experience is how I suspect people decide to purchase the Toyota Corolla. It's a perfectly fine appliance, and to a good number of people in the world, the bond between a car and a driver is no more important than the connection I feel to my toaster. Does it seat four people relatively comfortably? Does it get decent fuel economy? Is it easy to drive? Reliable? Safe? The Corolla checks all of these boxes, and because of that, Toyota managed to move just under 300,000 examples of the tenth-generation car in 2012 (though that number does include sales of the Corolla-based, now-deceased Matrix) - a vehicle that, at the time, was already six years old.
