1986 TOYOTA 4 RUNNER...I PURCHASED THIS TOYOTA IN MARCH OF 2006. ON EBAY . IT HAD 87,000 THEN. HAD ANOTHER USED TRANSMISSION INSTALLED IN 2007. HOWEVER THIS TOYOTA IS NOT RUNNING... KEEP IN MIND IT WILL HAVE TO BE TOWED ..IT WILL RUN BUT I HAVE TO KEEP JUMPING IT. IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE UNTIL THE GAS LINES AND FUEL TANK ARE REPLACED. THE FUEL TANK IS LEAKING BAD FROM THE TOP OF THE TANK.( THE TRUCK IS COMPLETLEY RUSTED ) AND WOULD NEED MAJOR RESTORATION...THE ENGINE IS THE ONLY THING VALUABLE..IT HAS 121,857 MILES ON IT..VERY LOW FOR THE YEAR. BACK WINDOW DOES NOT GO UP...NEEDS FUEL LINES AND GAS TANK..AND PERHAPS AN ALTERNATOR..IM NOT SURE WHY IT WONT START WITH OUT JUMPING IT...IT WAS USED TO HAUL MY HORSE MANURE..I WOULD BAG THE MANURE UP IN BLACK PLASTIC BAGS AND PUT THE BAGS IN THE BACK AND DRIVE DOWN TO THE FIELD AND DUMP..SO IT SMELLS LIKE HORSE MANURE...THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE DOES WORK GREAT..I USED IT IN THE WINTER TO GET INTO THE FIELDS IN DEEP SNOW...IM BASICALLY SELLING IT FOR THE MOTOR...YOU CAN FIGURE OUT IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO RESTORE IT.. THE CAP DOES COME OFF BUT I HAVE NEVER TAKEN IT OFF..HAS ROLL BAR.. PLEASE MAKE SURE THIS IS THE ITEM YOU WANT BEFORE YOU BID..THE TRUCK IS LOCATED IN WILMINGTON, ILLINOIS. I DO NOT ARRANGE FOR TOWING OR SHIPPING OF THE VEHICLE... CASHIERS CHECK OR CASH UPON ACQUISITION OF VEHICLE.

Toyota moving US headquarters to Plano, Texas
Mon, 28 Apr 2014It's official, Toyota is relocating its US operations to Plano, TX. And it won't be a symbolic 'all ranch and no cattle' gesture - the Japanese automaker, whose headquarters have been in California since 1957, has decided to base nearly all of its operations in the Lone Star State, including much of its engineering, finance and sales and marketing teams.
The move, which will see the establishment of a new headquarters campus in the Dallas suburb will not only affect employees at the company's current Torrance, CA Toyota Motor Sales USA campus, it will also touch the lives of thousands of employees at the company's other operations, including 1,000 workers at Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America in Erlanger, KY and some New York-based staff as well. The Toyota Technical Center in Ann Arbor, MI is not facing relocation, however, and it actually stands to gain responsibilities as Toyota overhauls its US org chart. Toyota says that its reorganization will affect about 4,000 employees in total.
According to Automotive News, while Toyota is adopting an "'everyone is invited' stance for the relocation," some attrition is expected from employees who aren't interested in relocating southward from the Golden State. For its part, the automaker is reportedly making expenses-paid visits to Plano available to full-time staffers and spouses to help them make the relocation decision, as well as a lump-sump payment if they decide to go through with the move.
Toyota GT86 convertible on 'indefinite hold'
Sat, 05 Oct 2013Bad news, sportscar fans. According to a new report from What Car?, Toyota has cancelled plans to produce a GT86 convertible, a model based on the FT-86 Open Concept that debuted at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. In truth, Toyota never actually confirmed it would produce the budget-friendly droptop in the first place, but rumors have been flying since last year and Toyota reportedly showed its embattled Scion dealers a FR-S version of the convertible in August. Presumably, this means that a lidless variant of the Subaru BRZ is not in the cards, either.
The reason for the move is unknown, though What Car? reports "one possible cause is weight; Toyota did say that further work would be required on rigidity before the convertible could be launched, and that could have added extra bulk that conflict with the regular GT86's ethos of light weight and agile handling." It doesn't look like that work will happen anytime soon, as "sources now say that the car has now been delayed indefinitely, with no place in Toyota's product plan in either 2014 or 2015." Still holding out hope? What Car? says the project could be "fast-tracked" if management decides it wants to reboot the program down the road.

First live photos and impressions of Toyota's 2014 Corolla
Fri, 07 Jun 2013After releasing official pictures and a press release about an hour earlier, Toyota chose an aircraft hanger at the Santa Monica airport as the venue for the global introduction of its highly anticipated 2014 Corolla. Following an extended aerial acrobat show, which included performers running along the walls, swimmers romping in a massive overhead clear plastic pool and angry dancers destroying their cardboard stage in a glittery fit... the all-new C-segment star of the show was lowered on cables from the ceiling. (After the strobe lights and pounding sound that preceded it, the final vehicle reveal was almost anticlimactic.)
Face-to-face with the eleventh-generation sedan, we liked what we saw. Compared to last year's Corolla, the new model appears smaller in person - yet that is mostly an optical illusion. By the tape, it is four inches longer and slightly wider than its predecessor, but a bit shorter. The wheelbase has been stretched nearly four inches, yet the front and rear overhangs only give or take about an inch in the conversion. With the exception of the enormous wheel/fender gap (the new Corolla seems to ride too high), its overall proportions are very pleasing.
The fresh styling is modern and stylish, with sculpted lines that add character to a formerly bland sedan
