For your consideration is this gorgeous 2004 Toyota 4Runner Limited 4WD. This vehicle was purchased new by my in-laws and they have been the only owners. It has always been garage kept and used sparingly. They spend six months in Florida each year so it has only accumulated 46,203 miles, which makes this one of the lowest mileage 4Runners available today! This 4Runner is loaded with options and has been very well maintained with every service done at the Toyota dealership. The 4.7L iForce V8 starts instantly and runs strong. It is very smooth and powerful and fuel efficient at around 20mpg depending on city/highway mix. The transmission is the 5-speed automatic mated to a full-time 4wd transfer case. It has a locking differential feature and high and low ranges which both function perfectly. The interior has heated leather power seats, JBL stereo and speakers, sunroof, power windows, locks, mirrors, and dual front airbags and side airbags throughout the interior. It also has traction control, hill decent control, 115V outlet, and much more. The exterior has fog lights, running boards, roof racks, tow package (never used), 17" alloy wheels, and factory privacy glass. This 4Runner runs and drives like new. It handles and brakes perfectly and has no known issues. The body is in excellent condition. There are no dings or dents. Besides a few minor scratches or stone chips, it is perfect and looks like a new vehicle. The CarFax report shows 1-owner, lots of dealer service history, and one accident which occurred in a parking lot where someone backed into the left rear wheel and scuffed it. It was replaced with a new OEM wheel and there was no other damage. The only reason for selling is that the owners (my in-laws) are moving to Florida full time so they no longer require a vehicle in New York. I did not even clean the vehicle before taking the photos. I simply pulled it out of their garage. The photos show the condition in which it has always been kept. Both the exterior and interior show virtually no wear and tear. The interior has never been smoked in. This is a very rare opportunity to purchase a luxurious and rugged 4Runner Limited 4WD with only 46,203 original miles. In doing research, this was the lowest mileage 4Runner of this generation that I have found to date. I am located 10 minutes from the Buffalo International Airport and Depew Amtrak Station. Payment must be made by certified bank check, wire transfer, or cash within 5 days of auction end. Call Joe at (518) 577-5659 with any questions. Thanks

Consumer Reports no longer recommends Honda Civic
Mon, Oct 24 2016Consumer Reports annual Car Reliability Survey is out, and yes, there are some big surprises. First and foremost? The venerable publication no longer recommends the Honda Civic. In fact, aside from the walking-dead CR-Z and limited-release Clarity fuel-cell car, the Civic is the only Honda to miss out on CR's prestigious nod. At the opposite end there's a surprise as well – Toyota and Lexus remain the most reliable brands on the market, but Buick cracked the top three. That's up from seventh last year, and the first time for an American brand to stand on the Consumer Reports podium. Mazda's entire lineup earned Recommended checks as well. Consumer Reports dinged the Civic for its "infuriating" touch-screen radio, lack of driver lumbar adjustability, the limited selection of cars on dealer lots fitted with Honda's popular Sensing system, and the company's decision to offer LaneWatch instead of a full-tilt blind-spot monitoring system. Its score? A lowly 58. The Civic isn't the only surprise drop from CR's Recommended ranks. The Audi A3, Ford F-150, Subaru WRX/STI, and Volkswagen Jetta, GTI, and Passat all lost the Consumer Reports' checkmark. On the flipside, a number of popular vehicles graduated to the Recommended ranks, including the BMW X5, Chevrolet Camaro, Corvette, and Cruze, Hyundai Santa Fe, Porsche Macan, and Tesla Model S. Perhaps the biggest surprise is the hilariously recall-prone Ford Escape getting a Recommended check – considering the popularity of Ford's small crossover, this is likely a coup for the brand, as it puts the Escape on a level playing field with the Recommended Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Nissan Rogue. While Ford is probably happy to see CR promote the Escape, the list wasn't as kind for every brand. For example, of the entire Fiat Chrysler Automobiles catalog, the ancient Chrysler 300 was the only car to score a check – there wasn't a single Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Maserati, or Ram on the list. That hurts. FCA isn't alone at the low end, either. GMC, Jaguar Land Rover, Mini, and Mitsubishi don't have a vehicle on CR's list between them, while brands like Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Nissan, Lincoln, Infiniti, and Cadillac only have a few models each. Toyota Aygo stars in 'invisible driver' prank
Sat, 14 Jun 2014We love a good automotive-themed prank. Rémi Gaillard remains a favorite, although maybe we should take a closer look at MagicOfRahat, another online prankster. Rahat, who has developed a bit of a reputation for blending in with car seats, giving the impression that there's no one behind the wheel, has taken his talents to Europe, in a new video for Toyota.
Dressed to look like the seat of the new Toyota Aygo, Rahat goes about town freaking out tollbooth operators, valets, fast food servers and even receiving a bit of unwanted attention from the police. The result is, as is usually the case with this prank, pretty darn amusing. We were kind of hoping he'd pop up and give his victims a fright, as he did in his Halloween video, but alas, that wasn't to be.
Take a look below for the full video.
Toyota to buck engine downsizing trend, may go larger and turbo-free
Mon, 14 Oct 2013Turbocharging isn't really Toyota's specialty, and the Japanese automaker isn't being shy about acknowledging it. Koei Saga, a senior managing officer in charge of drivetrain research and development, says that eschewing turbos and increasing displacement of engines using the Atkinson cycle can produce better power gains without sacrificing fuel economy, Automotive News reports.
Toyota is investing heavily in larger-displacement Atkinson-cycle engines in addition to turbocharged engines, but Saga doesn't think the automaker will use turbocharging across many product lines. He apparently remains unconvinced that the technology "makes the world better."
In Toyota's eyes then, Atkinson cycle engines do make the world better, and here's how. Their pistons complete four processes - intake, compression, power and exhaust - in one revolution of the crankshaft, and the power stroke is longer than the compression stroke. Traditional Otto cycle engines require two crankshaft revolutions to accomplish those same four operations and have equal-length compression and power strokes. Atkinson cycle engines are more efficient, but less power dense, though increasing displacement can offset that shortfall.
