1955 Ford Country Sedan. This has a bit of a rad rod look on the mostly original exterior. Lowered in the front with modern disc brakes and 2 chamber master cylinder (not power). Explorer mag wheels. Had to list "OEM" options in the listing, but real specs - Mild 302 with aluminum intake and new 600 Holley. 1980's style SROD 4 speed overdrive floor shift. 9" rear end. All new 12v harness, bulbs, etc. heating system redone (original). All correct dash. Extra parts included - Radio, clock, trim, misc. Originally a V-8 car, 3 on the tree.
Most everything about this car is stock or stock appearance. Slight lowering gives the car a great look. Smooth riding and drives easy. Overdrive allows for highway driving at very comfortable revs. All around great ride that really turns heads. Interior side panels need to be redone. Modern radio head unit installed with bluetooth hidden under seat with custom steering wheel type controls to the One-Year-Only round dash radio (must experience, cool feature done myself - details included with car). Extra original Radio included. Extra clock included. Has a few things that need attention but it's a driving project car. You can get in and drive it home. Everyone stops to look! Changing interests and just too many projects puts this one for sale. Hate to sell - It's a Fun Car! For Sale locally, I reserve the right to end the listing at any time. Email with any questions or to talk on the phone. Clear title, running and driving, Sold AS IS. ********************* Updates ********************* A few people have obviously asked about rust, underneath, engine bay, Etc. Email me and I can send more pictures of the car or parts of it. Additional info: - Small gas leak near the tank needs to be tended too. It's a brand new tank, I think it is the line, but unconfirmed. Time permitting will try to fix. - Rear passenger floors have glass cloth repairs on the lowest portions of the floors. They feel solid under foot, but would want attention at some point. - Front floors have had some small spot repairs. Again, not soft under foot anywhere. - Front drivers rocker has 2 small holes, but nothing else through any where. Appear pretty solid. - Lower tailgate has some rust and was partially repaired. - This car was Pennsylvania State inspected expiring 7/13 when I got it in late 2012. I put antiques on it which don't require inspection so it wasn't reinspected. - The speedo gear in the (modern) trans is loose on the shaft so the speedo isn't currently working. You have to take off the tailshaft housing to fix so while apart I was going to rebuild the transmission. I never got to taking it out and working on it, but I did get a new full transmission rebuild kit with bearings and syncros which is included with the car. - There is also a NEW set of air shocks for the rear end purchased a few months ago, but never installed included. Any other questions, just let me know. Thanks! |

New investor allows Suzuki to fend off VW
Tue, Aug 4 2015After years of legal wrangling, the long-soured partnership between Volkswagen and Suzuki looks finally to be coming out of arbitration, according to Bloomberg. As a sign of the Japanese brand's improved fortunes, hedge fund Third Point LLC recently bought an undisclosed stake in the company. The investor reported seeing a major opportunity in the successful Maruti Suzuki business in India. As an investment, the only major problem that Third Point found with Suzuki was its legal battle with VW. "The company's greatest asset is its low-cost manufacturing process for vehicles for the emerging market consumer," the fund said in a letter, according to Bloomberg. Third Point reportedly also wants a seat on Suzuki's board, despite being a minority shareholder. The alliance between Suzuki and VW goes back to late 2009. In the deal, the Japanese brand was meant to get access to cutting-edge tech, and the German firm got a helping hand towards better establishing itself in India and Southeast Asia. Things didn't go as planned, though. Less than two years later, Suzuki's boss publicly derided the deal. Eventually, the allegations started going back and forth, and the two have been working out a way to untangle practically ever since. Among the biggest issue has been how to get back the 19.9 percent stake that VW purchased. According to Bloomberg, the arbitration is now technically over. With the divorce nearly final, the two sides are just waiting on a decision on how to split things up. Suzuki may even just buy VW's stake to get the shares back.
Suzuki's Paris display is a sad reminder we don't get quirky little Japanese cars anymore
Thu, Sep 29 2016The fun thing about foreign auto shows is getting to see all the cars we don't get at home. In the case of Suzuki, it's a reminder that the brand withered in the US and withdrew due to a lack of product a few years back. What makes it even tougher is that Suzuki's stand in Paris is full of little all-wheel-drive things that would probably do really well in the US now. Talk about bad timing. Take the Ignis above. This thing is about the size of a Mazda CX-3, offers all-wheel drive, and manages to look cute and sophisticated at the same time. Americans would buy it. The SX4 S-Cross, which evolved from the SX4 that did surprisingly well a decade ago in the US, gets an update this year and looks a lot more like a crossover, an improvement on the original funky tall-hatch design. If only Suzuki could have held on a little longer the brand might be taking some sales from Subaru and the many makers of little crossovers. We can't leave here without mentioning the wonderful beigeness of the Cervo hatch that Suzuki brought out to tie the Ignis in with its heritage. It's a rear-engined three-cylinder two-stroke with a Giugiaro-designed body. Yep. The model was never sold in the US, but it was known as the Whizzkid in the UK, which is just fantastic. And its adorable tiny wheels – they looked like 12s or so – are pretty highly stylized. They're actually mirrored by the five-pocket wheels available on the Ignis, which is a nice touch. Suzuki recalling 101,000 Forenza, Reno models over faulty headlamps
Tue, 21 Aug 2012
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a recall of over 100,000 Suzuki models. The NHTSA recall extends to certain 2004-2006 Suzuki Forenza models and 2005-2006 Reno vehicles, These were vehicles produced from September 2003 through March 2006.
According to the announcement, the recall pertains to potentially faulty headlight assemblies. A poor contact in the headlight terminals can result in the splice pack melting, resulting in partial or complete loss of headlamp functionality.
