This is a 1988 and a half Suzuki Samurai.  It is in excellent condition.  This is my third Samurai and it is by far the nicest (not only the nicest I have ever owned but the nicest I have ever seen).  I bought this a couple of years ago off of a certified mechanic.  The Samurai runs fantastic, no noises, smoke, or leaks of any kind.  Everything functions as new.  It has been the perfect little vehicle and has never let me down (ever).  It is inspected and has no problem doing 65 to 70 mph.
Specs:
-Rebuilt Transmission.  This was rebuilt by the certified mechanic I purchased it from.  I have pictures of the rebuild if needed.
-31x10.5 all terrain tires (90% tread or better) on a 5 inch spring over axle lift (SPOA).  All of the work was done by After Market 4x4 who specializes in Samurais.
-Rocky Road outfitters front bumper (brush guard) with hitch.  And a triangle easy-tow-bar which is not pictured, but just makes it a dream to pull behind a motor home (which is what I used this vehicle for).
-Tuffy Box center console (nice lockable armrest with 2 cup holders).
-Rear tow hitch with rack.
-Diamond plate side panels (running boards), door panels (interior), panels above rear tires (interior), and tail gate panel (interior).

Body
-The certified mechanic that I purchased the vehicle from painted it and did a very good job.  The paint is thick and has orange peel texture to it but it looks fantastic and is practically scratch resistant.  There are not scratches on the vehicle at all.  There are a few small dings on the passenger side that are about penny side but they were too small to come out in photos and really are not noticeable at all.  The biggest imperfection on the vehicle is a small ding below the driver side head light (this is covered up by the front bumper and it is just a small ding, about 1 inch by 3 inches.  Sorry about all the details, I just want to be thorough.  The vehicle looks amazing, it is truly a beauty.

Engine
-Engine runs great, no noise, smoke, or leaks and has plenty of power.

THE BAD:
The seats do have a few rips but still function well.  I have seat covers on them that look great so I have never worried about getting them re-upholstered.

Hope this is enough to give you guys a good idea on how nice this Samurai really is but if you have any questions please feel free to call me at 540-Seven One Eight-0192.  Any time after 5 PM Monday-Friday and anytime on the weekend (East Coast Time).

I will ship the vehicle at the buyers expense or you can simply fly in and DRIVE IT HOME.  I drive the vehicle to a hunting lease about once a month (3 hour round trip).

Junkyard Gem: 1991 Geo Metro LSi Convertible

Sat, May 14 2022

Americans lost the ability to buy a new Detroit-made convertible starting in the 1977 model year (unless you count aftermarket conversions), not regaining it until drop-top Chrysler K-Cars showed up in showrooms in 1981. This gave convertibles a certain magical quality that lasted for quite a while here, and so it seemed to make sense for GM to offer an open-air version of the Geo Metro. Here's one of those cars, spotted in a self-service yard in northeastern Colorado. The Metro was really a second-generation Suzuki Cultus, successor to the 1985-1988 Chevrolet Sprint. While a four-cylinder engine became available in the later Metro (which got Chevrolet badges when the Geo brand got the axe in 1997), all Chevy Sprints and early Metros got this 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine. You're looking at 55 Suzuki horsepower here. The XFi version of the Metro (not available with a convertible top) managed to get better than 60 highway miles per gallon with an engine rated at 49 horsepower. There was an automatic transmission available… for 465 bucks (about $993 in 2022 dollars). That would have added nearly 5% to the cost of this $9,740 car ($20,805 today) and killed the fuel economy, so nearly all Metro buyers got their cars with three pedals. Do you like simple instruments in cars? You'll love the Metro! This one is good and rusty, with some really scary corrosion underneath. I think it sat in a field, buried to the axles, for many years. However, the bra tells us that it once had an owner who loved their then-shiny red convertible. No 1991 competitor could offer a new convertible with a price tag even close to that of the $9,740 Metro LSi. Oh, sure, a ragtop version of the wretched Yugo was available in 1990 and maybe 1991, but that doesn't count. A new Miata cost $13,800 that year, with a Mazda-based Mercury Capri going for $12,588. The 1991 VW Golf Cabriolet cost $16,175, and prices for convertibles just got higher with other competitors. This content is hosted by a third party. Suzuki back in MotoGP for 2015

Tue, 18 Jun 2013

It had been planned for 2014 but it's going to be 2015 instead - that's when Suzuki returns to the manufacturer ranks of MotoGP after quitting the series at the end of 2011 because of The Great Recession. When Suzuki stopped after 37 continuous years of racing, it said it intended to return three years later and it has been in talks with MotoGP's rights holder, Dorna Sports, since last year. No doubt, though, that fan anticipation of the team's return outdoes any dismay at the delay. It will join Yamaha, Honda and Ducati in the premiere league.
Its bike has already been testing in Japan and was with the official MotoGP tribe in Barcelona, Spain on Monday when Suzuki announced its return. It's said the development bike is called the XRH-1, being ridden by official tester Randy de Puniet (who currently races in MotoGP on an Aprilia-based bike with TeamAspar). and after a day of testing de Puniet got the new Suzuki to within seven-tenths of a second of the top time posted by other MotoGP teams. Davide Brivio, who once ran the Fiat-Yamaha team and has been close with Valentino Rossi, will be the team manager.
Speaking of Rossi, The Doctor is back with Fiat-Yamaha after a bad run with Ducati but is only contracted to the end of 2014. Brivio is the man who got Rossi to join Fiat-Yamaha, then got him to Ducati. Until he took the head of Suzuki's works effort, Brivio was working with Rossi's VR46 management company, heading areas like merchandising. The rumormill has already begun its work, with folks wondering if Rossi will head to Suzuki in 2015 if his second stint at Yamaha doesn't prove fruitful before then. Scroll down below for the official press release from Suzuki.

Suzuki Swift gets a motorcycle-inspired wide body for Tokyo Auto Salon

Mon, Jan 6 2020

Tokyo Auto Salon is just around the corner, and companies such as Daihatsu and Mitsubishi have announced a slew of impressive custom cars. Suzuki has also announced its custom lineup, which is a bit humble this year at just three. They range from the wild Suzuki Swift Sport Katana to the mild Hustler Street Base. The Swift is the most impressive of Suzuki's show cars. Its name, and supposedly its looks, are based on the Katana sports bike. We're not sure they have that much in common beyond the silver and red paint job, but that's all right because this Swift still looks excellent. It features aggressive fender flares and a reworked front fascia. Bigger, wider wheels fit underneath those flares, and it has side-exit exhaust to cap off the extreme design. Next up is the Suzuki Jimny Sierra Marine Edition. Suzuki started with the wider Jimny Sierra model and fitted it with equipment for a day in and around the water. It has storage for fishing rods on either side and an interior covered in wetsuit material. The roof has been raised for extra interior space. The exterior also gets a garnish of visual upgrades such as custom wheels, chrome trim, paint scheme, auxiliary lights and tow rings. The third and final custom vehicle is the Hustler Street Base. It's fairly basic with a matte gray paint scheme, a few decals, and an upgraded audio system inside with some flashy lighting. Apparently it's designed for hip young people who live in the city and might be interested in extreme sports and an active lifestyle. Related Video:   Â
