1990 Suzuki Samurai Jl Sport Utility 2-door 1.3l on 2040-cars
Denton, Texas, United States
I am selling my 1990 Suzuki Samurai. It's in great condition over all, no rust, and it runs great. I have a clean Texas title in my name, 111402 miles, current tags, and inspection till next year. This is the first year model with fuel injection. Here is a list of what has already been done.
*New fuel pump and tank cleaned. *Rebuilt throttle body *New Optima battery (1000cca) *New Alternator *New gator-back belts *New Valve cover gasket *New oil pan gasket *New brakes front and rear *clicky starter fix *ECM was rebuilt by Petroworks *New NGK plugs and wires *New spray in bedliner The original front seats are pretty worn, but I have a set of new seats from a 2007 chevy aveo in perfect condition that I am including. Also included are all the records I have that date back to 2000 for this vehicle, a tote full of parts that came with it (og KC lights, mesh headlight covers, etc), a white bikini top, bicycle rack, reese tow bar, a full black soft top (with new snaps), and whatever else I can find. I will be working on repainting the hood this week, and also replacing the front crank seal. As it is now, it leaks a little oil from the front crank seal, so it will be receiving a new front seal, and a new timing belt by this weekend. If you want to take it before then and do those things yourself, then we can possibly work a better deal. I have all the parts though. I am selling the zuk so I can continue grad school, so serious buyers only please.Buyer is responsible for shipping/local pick up only. |

Japanese motorcycles moving into forced induction
Sat, 30 Nov 2013While turbocharging and supercharging may be nothing new in the automotive industry, motorcycle engines are almost always naturally aspirated. But even that's beginning to change. At the Tokyo Motor Show last week, two major Japanese companies showed off new forced-induction motorbike engines.
Kawasaki rolled in with a supercharged four-cylinder motorbike engine. It offered little in the way of details, disclosing only that the turbine blades were developed in-house to withstand the heat and vibration of spooling up at motorbike speeds.
Suzuki is taking a different approach, however. Its Recursion concept bike packs a turbocharged 588cc two-cylinder engine with a turbocharger and intercooler. The compact package churns out just under 100 horsepower and 74 pound-feet of torque, packaged into a motorbike that weighs just 384 pounds dry.
Spiders Force Suzuki To Recall Midsize Cars
Wed, Aug 27 2014Spiders have forced Suzuki to recall more than 19,000 midsize cars. The automaker says spider webs can clog a fuel vapor vent hose in some 2010 to 2013 Kizashi cars, cutting off air flow. If that happens, it can cause the gas tank to deform, causing cracks, fuel leaks and possible fires. The recall was prompted by seven reports of the problem. Service centers will replace the vent line with one that has a filter on the end. They'll also replace gas tanks if necessary. The problem hasn't caused any accidents or injuries in the U.S., Suzuki said in documents posted Wednesday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Owners will be notified this month. Those with questions can call Suzuki customer service at (800) 934-0934. American Suzuki Motor Corp. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in November of 2012 and stopped selling automobiles in the U.S. The recall is the second caused by spiders this year. In April Mazda recalled 42,000 Mazda6 midsize cars in the U.S. with 2.5-liter engines for a similar problem. The recalled cars were from the 2010 through 2012 model years. Suzuki considering Cappuccino revival?
Tue, 13 Aug 2013It's not a secret that a few of us here at Autoblog have a crush on Japanese Kei cars. The diminutive sizes and cheeky looks of most of the segment are certainly endearing factors, but it was the sporting Kei cars of the 1990s that made for the most delicious forbidden fruit.
Suzuki's entry in that time and market space was the Cappuccino, a rear-wheel-drive coupe with a removable roof and roll bar, powered by a 657cc three-cylinder motor. The car hung around the Japanese market until 1997 (and was booted up in Gran Turismo form for years after that). Now, rumor has it that the little coupe could be getting a reboot around 2016.
The reports are still a bit short on detail; some indicate that a new Cappuccino could be built up on an existing Kei platform from Suzuki. If the new car were to keep the RWD layout of the original, however, that would mean building up the model on the live-rear-axle bones of the Suzuki Jimny or Carry.
