1988 Suzuki Samurai Turbo Diesel 4x4 manual 5 speed
This is our second Samurai we've had they are blast to drive. We bought this one last year and tow barred it from Georgia here to Michigan Its been a great little vehicle this past year. My husband has driven it to work everyday which is 40 mile round trip. The only problem it had is that the wipers didn't work but we just bought one here on eBay he just hasn't installed it. He did put on a new door handle, but other than that it's been great. The fuel mileage is excellent he said at least 30 mpg which is better mileage the the gas engine we had. We love this little truck but husband is selling this and his ford truck to buy a vintage truck. The engine is from a mid 80's Volkswagon Jetta. We did not put it in but previous owner said it came out of his buddys wrecked Jetta . The owner said that he put in the hobbs meter which reads somewhere over 300 hours I don't know that that tells a story. It has a mechanical injector pump. Husband put a cold air intake in it it helps the turbo breathe and supposed to boost mpg. It has dual batteries and a new glow plug relay and fuel cutoff solenoid. We just got the hard top it has the rear hatch door on it much better for our Michigan wintertime. Two people can easily remove and put it on its not that heavy. The soft top is in pretty good shape it has some loose stitching in one of the corners. Big difference in the way the two look on it. The body is solid, the paint is poor, the tub and under carriage has been rhino lined. The doors are easily removable. We put on Rock Sliders and a Brush guard. There is a dent in the center if the tailgate, It has the Rocky Road Outfitters suspension and adapter kit so that lifts it 4 inches. There are 4 inch lift shackles on the front. It has a soft type ride to it. The previous owner did a good job on the conversion. The brand of matching tires is Buckshot Maxxis Mudders the size is 30 x 9 50 R 15. They have about 5,000 miles on them. We did get a spare for it I don't know size or brand, but its a spare. It has a mechanical injector pump Its a manual 5 speed and shifts perfect. The transfer case shifts perfectly 4x4 works perfectfly shift nicely and smooth. manual lockout hubs. Top speed is about 55 because of stock gearing. So its not a freeway flyer but will get you where you're going. It got all the perfect characteristics of a Sammi only with a Vw Turbo diesel engine. If you want to call Robert for more details his number is 734.657.2868 We have it for sale on Craigslist so if someone were to buy it before an eBay bid has been placed then I will cancel this auction. If you have placed a bid then your bid is a bid. We just want to sell it either avenue $500 Paypal or in person deposit required with in 24 hours of winning auction. If you are picking it up from here and want to tow it behind you vehicle than you can have our tow bar If you have a shipping company handle it we will be as helpful as we can. |

Japan's Suzuki, SkyDrive sign deal to develop, market 'flying cars'
Tue, Mar 22 2022TOKYO — Japanese automaker Suzuki Motor Corp and 'flying car' firm SkyDrive Inc said on Tuesday they have signed a deal to team up in research, development and marketing of electric, vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. In a joint statement, the two companies said they will also work to open up new markets with an initial focus on India, where Suzuki has a roughly half share of the auto market. Suzuki announced on Sunday it plans to invest 104.4 billion rupees ($1.37 billion) in its India factory to produce electric vehicles and batteries. The companies didn't disclose details of investments in their partnership, nor outline any production timetable or target. Founded in 2018, Tokyo-headquartered SkyDrive counts big Japan businesses like trading house Itochu Corp, tech firm NEC Corp and a unit of energy company Eneos Holdings Inc among its main shareholders. In 2020 it raised 5.1 billion yen ($42 million) in total in Series B funds, according to its website. SkyDrive is currently engaged in the development of a compact, two-seating electric-powered flying car with plans for full-scale production. The statement did not say whether Suzuki would be working on this specific vehicle. The company, which is also developing cargo drones, aims to launch a 'flying car' service in Osaka in 2025 when the Japanese city hosts the World Expo. For Suzuki, the partnership will add 'flying cars' as a fourth mobility business, in addition to automobiles, motorcycles and outboard motors, the statement said. Suzuki recalling 184k GM-built models for fire risk
Fri, 23 May 2014Suzuki is recalling 184,244 total units of the 2004-2008 Forenza (pictured above) and 2005-2008 Reno manufactured under contract by Daewoo, now General Motors Korea, between September 1, 2003, through July 30, 2008, for a risk of fire. The exact split in terms of number of each model isn't available yet.
In the vehicles, the heat generated in the headlight switch or daytime running light module could cause the parts to melt and cause a fire. If this sounds somewhat familiar, it's the same reason that 218,000 units of the 2004-2008 Chevrolet Aveo are being recalled. According to General Motors spokesperson Alan Adler: "It's the same issue."
Adler explained that as the contracted manufacturer, GM is responsible for finding a remedy to this problem and providing it to Suzuki. It's a similar situation as Toyota recalling the Matrix and giving the automaker the repair parts to fix the Pontiac Vibe, which shares the platform.
Suzuki brought a retro hybrid coupe and an autonomous van concept to Tokyo Motor Show
Tue, Oct 1 2019Update:Â More photos and details of these Suzuki concepts have surfaced since their official reveal at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. Turns out, the Waku Spo coupe can also be a wagon. We love it. When you swap in the wagon rear end, the rear seat slides back and automatically reclines. All of a sudden, the sporty coupe has turned into a somewhat roomy wagon kei car. Its interior features a fully digital dash that will actually simulate wood grain on the passenger side when in the Normal drive mode. When sport mode is selected, the "wood grain" transforms into a massive screen of dials and vehicle information. The Suzuki Hanare is the van pictured in the gallery and further below. Its drive wheels feature in-wheel electric motors, and the interior is all about customization. The folks in Suzuki's press photos look happy to be hanging out by their Hanares, and we think we'd be pretty happy too. One of the vans has a bar; the other has a massive screen with a map, and the middle van is full of storage for outdoor activity supplies. Lastly, Suzuki showed us the Hustler Concept. It's essentially just a Hustler made to look like an off-road kei car. We're picking up the Jimny vibes Suzuki is laying down. It's wonderfully boxy and features a bevy of neat accessories. Suzuki is celebrating its 100th anniversary at this year's Tokyo Motor Show. To mark the occasion, the company has created two unique concepts that look to the past for style, and the future for powertrain and use cases. One is called the Waku Spo, and the other is the Hanare. The Waku Spo is pictured above, and it's a plug-in hybrid with styling rooted in '60s Japanese cars. It's simple and squared off save for the wide fender flares and charming round headlights. There are dashes of chrome trim around the car and two-tone paint. The fender-mounted rearview cameras are a high-tech twist on a classic Japanese car feature. But if this design doesn't appeal to you, Suzuki says body and interior parts can be quickly switched out so each driver can have a car that's personalized to their tastes. While the Waku Spo is a more traditional, driver-oriented car, the Hanare is more of an autonomous pod. According to Suzuki, Hanare translates to "cottage" and the theme of the van is to be your home away from home. It's meant to be a mobile room to do whatever you want. It also looks like it's intended to be private and secluded, as the only windows are slender pieces that wrap around the roof.
