1983 Suzuki Sj410 Base Sport Utility 2-door 1.0l Samurai on 2040-cars
Woodstock, Vermont, United States
Super rare Suzuki SJ410 Jimny. These Suzuki "jeeps" are awesome because they have all the character of the early LJ models (narrower wheels and tires, fold down windscreen, vertical grill), but the practicality of the later model Samurais. This truck came from South Carolina and was never driven in the northeast (it's been stored in our barn since purchase). It's bone stock with new tires and it runs like a top. 4WD works great and the transmission shifts smoothly. Body is in excellent shape with no dents or major dings besides one small indentation on the top of the roll bar. No rust besides some very minor surface rust on a few parts of the underbody. Interior features original seats which are in good condition with some minor wear and cracks on the driver seat bottom.
Just an excellent example of one of the best products Suzuki ever produced. Shipping is at buyer's expense, but I'm glad to help arrange it. $500 deposit upon conclusion of the auction. Truck is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. |

Suzuki will road-test EVs in India, start production with Toyota in 2020
Fri, Sep 7 2018NEW DELHI — Japan's Suzuki Motor Corp will start testing prototypes of electric vehicles in India by October, its chairman said on Friday. "We will start road-running tests using a fleet of 50 EV prototype vehicles in India from next month in order to develop safe and easy-to-use EVs for Indian customers," Osamu Suzuki said at the Global Mobility Summit at New Delhi. The company would then launch EVs in India around 2020 in cooperation with Toyota, he added. However, Suzuki said that for EVs to become popular in India, there had to be well-developed charging infrastructure. "In this regard, we look forward to proactive leadership from the Indian government," he said. The government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a plan to electrify all new vehicles by 2030, a target many experts call ambitious. EVs are expensive due to the high cost of batteries which are still not manufactured in India, and carmakers say a lack of charging stations could make the proposition unviable. Suzuki, parent of India's top-selling automaker, Maruti Suzuki, would start production of lithium-ion batteries for automobiles at its plant in western India from 2020, Suzuki said. India is one of the world's fastest-growing car markets, but EV sales are negligible compared with millions of petrol and diesel cars sold every year. Suzuki said to meet India's environmental challenges, the government would have to look at hybrid and CNG (compressed natural gas) vehicles also.Related Video:
Suzuki teases production C-segment crossover, could it have saved them in US?
Wed, 06 Feb 2013Suzuki may be retreating (amidst booming sales) from the US market, but its efforts to woo European buyers are still going strong. Witness as proof these shadowy teaser images of the automaker's new C-segment crossover that it plans to unveil at the Geneva Motor Show next month.
Until the official debut, we've got just a few tidbits of information to report about the upcoming Suzuki. We're told, and can see, that the car has been modeled on the S-Cross concept car from the 2012 Paris Motor Show. Quite a bit of translation has happened, however, from show car to production form, as we see that the sweeping greenhouse of the S-Cross has been ditched in favor of a traditional pillared setup, large LEDs have moved from the lower front fascia to under the headlamps, and the grille is now much more in line with the rest of Suzuki's current range. The crossover is still painted in a faintly froggish shade of green, though, so the weirdness hasn't been completely leeched out.
We're also informed that the new C-segment offering will have an available a four-wheel-drive powertrain and one of the largest luggage areas in the segment. All of which strikes us as good stuff, but we're still not convinced that this unnamed entrant could have turned the Japanese automaker's fortunes in North America - even if it would have competed in one of the industry's fastest-growing segments. Feel free to read over Suzuki's brief press release below and look at the images before speculating for yourself in Comments.
