flywheel was resurfaced when clutch was installed. Married access port with v3 access port included which gives option to change fuel from either E85 or 93 octane. Will need some tuning to complete it. Currently in indoor storage until sold. It is a 10 year old vehicle so wear/tear should be expected such as scratches, dings, chips, scuffs. 'Baby Driver' stunt Impreza WRX sells for nearly $70,000
Sun, Aug 27 2017Well that escalated quickly. When we reported that the 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX used for driving stunts in the movie Baby Driver was being auctioned on eBay, bidding had taken the car up to over $40,000. Now the car has sold, and the price rocketed up to $69,100, and there were 71 bids on the car when it sold. That may seem like a large sum of money for a banged up Impreza WRX with a few prior wrecks. But the price starts to make sense considering how unique the car is. Besides starring in a great movie with superb stunts, it's one of the few WRXs out there converted to rear-wheel drive. As stunt driver Jeremy Fry told us, this was done to make it easier to perform some of the stunts. This Impreza isn't the only Baby Driver movie car to sell, either. The same Subaru parts and car dealer selling the WRX was also selling a wrecked, but drivable, Dodge Charger police car. That one didn't attract nearly as much attention though. Tue, Jan 13 2015The 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek Special Edition is an easy model to spot thanks to its bright Sunrise Yellow paint. However, under the lights at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, the shade actually looks a bit darker than the blazing tone from the original photos. Subaru is only making 1,000 of these shining models, and appropriately, they hit the market in the spring when the sun starts shining. Beyond the bright paint, buyers get a Crosstrek with a power moonroof, body-color folding mirrors and blackened headlight bezels. Inside, there's Subie's Starlink infotainment system with a seven-inch touchscreen and two USB ports. The all-weather package should make things easier on cold days, too, with heated seats and side mirrors, plus a windshield wiper de-icer. The whole package based around the 2.0i Premium trim rings up for $25,290, plus $850 destination and delivery.
Subaru beefs up new Exiga Crossover 7 in Japan
Thu, Apr 16 2015While we wait for Subaru to roll out a replacement for the troubled Tribeca crossover here in North America, in other markets the Japanese automaker continues to introduce other wagons of varying heights and capacities. Like the Levorg wagon offered in Japan and soon to be introduced in Europe, or the new Exiga Crossover 7 announced for the company's domestic market. We first caught a glimpse of the Exiga in concept form way back at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show, and the seven-seat wagon entered production the following year. What sets this version apart is its higher stance, transforming it into a pseudo-crossover in similar fashion to how the Outback transformed the Legacy or the XV Crosstrek builds upon the Impreza. It's based on the same platform as well, and retains the existing Exiga's seven-seat cabin, with three rows of seating that fold down to make the interior volume adaptable to whatever needs might arise. The crossover version also rides higher on 17-inch wheels, with reinforced lower bodywork, a larger front grille and roof rails to give it a more rugged look. Power comes in the form of a 2.5-liter boxer four, mated to a continuously variable transmission and driving 171 horsepower to all four wheels in typical Subaru style. Fuji Heavy figures it will sell around 600 of these every month in Japan, but it looks unlikely to export it to other markets - least of all our own. Jacked up and ruggedized though it may be, our sources at Subaru tell us this vehicle is too small to have anything to do with the Tribeca replacement we've been waiting for and which promises to be a fair bit larger to suit American tastes.
