05 Subaru Wrx Sti In Show Condition, Very Low Miles, Modified on 2040-cars
Southbury, Connecticut, United States
2005 SUBARU IMPREZA WRX STI with 34,559 miles! This car is in perfect condition! Clean title, no accidents. No dings, dents or scratches. You will not be disappointed. If you test drive it, you will be sold. I have never taken this car out and not received a compliment about its sound, appearance and or power. To truly appreciate this machine it must be driven. I bought this car used with 3,300 miles on it. This car has never been rained on and of course never seen the snow. It's garage kept and only driven during the summer months. If fact, I will not drive the car until the streep sweepers have come through. Because of last year's weather, I put a mere 700 miles on it the entire year. This vehicle has been modified and includes a number of after market parts. Modifications have been made to all of the following:engine, transmission, suspension, tires and brakes. I have debadged the exterior of the vehicle which provides for a clean look. Car was dynoed to have 414.3WHP and 463 FT lbs torque. The speed of the vehicle will take your breath away. I have added a 4 point harness to each of the front seats and a 6 point bolt-in roll cage. All the car's original safety equipment and air bags are 100% untouched. The car handles better than a track car with NITTO NT01 tires and a stage II clutch. It ran a quarter mile in 11.89 seconds at 116.95MPH (Time sheet included in pictures). This car includes a water/methanol injection system and a rotated mount Greddy 20G and runs 24lbs of boost. Aftermarket parts include: header APS turbo-back exhaust 3" external wastegate rotated mount Gretty 20G turbo APR short ram intake springs by Tien 6 pt bolt-in roll cage dual stage boost control gages by Autometer 4 pt strap safety harnesses water/methanol injection system by Snow Performance Rota wheels NITTO NT01 tires strut tower brace front mount intercooler 850CC injectors fuel rails by Perrin fuel pump, Walboro 255 shift light stage II clutch by Exceedy cross drilled rotors brake bads by Hawk after market front lip and more...... Time Sheet and Dyno Sheet included Asking price: $31,000. Please contact Ryan with any questions at wrxspencer@gmail.com. Car is available for local pick up. Subaru celebrates 4-millionth vehicle built in Indiana
Mon, 02 Sep 2013Subaru has produced its four-millionth vehicle at its Lafayette, Indiana factory. The Deep Indigo Blue 2014 Outback is pictured above, alongside the very first Subaru to leave the Lafayette facility, a first-generation Legacy. Formally known as Subaru of Indiana Automotive, SIA opened its doors in 1989 and currently produces the Outback, Forester and Tribeca for Subaru, in addition to the Toyota Camry.
The plant, which was originally a joint venture between Subaru and Isuzu, has produced nine different models for four different manufacturers over the years, and is getting ready to add a tenth as Impreza production will be coming to SIA. Subaru announced plans to move Impreza production to Indiana when it made a $400-million investment in the facility earlier this year. As production continues, the Lafayette Journal-Courier reports that SIA will produce another million units by the end of 2017.
Pontiac Aztek enjoys rebirth thanks to Millennials
Fri, Sep 11 2015Apparently, Millennials – those between 18 and 34 – aren't afraid to look different on the road, and they like performance, too. A new study by Edmunds is discovering some surprising vehicle choices by this group. Among them, the long-derided Pontiac Aztek is getting a new day in the sun with 25.5 percent its buyers coming from this generation in the first half of 2015. For comparison, Millennials represent an average of 16.8 percent of used car purchases. The Aztek is slowly shaking its reputation as a styling abomination, which seems tied to its appearance on Breaking Bad. The show premiered in 2008, and the Pontiac has been on this list for four of the past five years, according to Edmunds. It even led the pack in 2010. A recent Retro Review from MotorWeek also showed that the crossover wasn't always so hated. While it's still a shock to see the Aztek on any popularity list, the awkward-looking crossover only ranks sixth among Millennials. The vehicle with the biggest portion of buyers from the generation is the Dodge Magnum with 27.6 percent. According to Edmunds, the bluntly styled wagon is especially popular in Detroit and Chicago. The Chrysler Pacifica comes in a close second at 27.3 percent. When it comes to used cars, value and utility appear to trump just about anything else for many Millennial buyers," Edmunds analyst Jeremy Acevedo said in the report. Young buyers aren't afraid of sporty rides, either. The Subaru WRX has 26.4 percent Millennial buyers to rank third place on the list, and the Volkswagen R32 takes fifth at 25.7 percent. Just a few points lower in seventh place is the Nissan GT-R at 25.4 percent, and the final performance machine in 10th place is the Lexus IS-F with 24.7 percent. Related Video:
Climb to the Clouds returning thanks to Subaru title sponsorship [w/video]
Wed, 31 Jul 2013The Mt. Washington Hillclimb, otherwise known as the Climb to the Clouds, hasn't been done since 2011. That year, Subaru Rally Team USA driver David Higgins set a new record for the event first held in 1904, running the 7.6-mile vertiginous course in 6:11.54. The race will be return in 2014 with the help of that very carmaker, Subaru of America having stepped in to the title sponsor role for what will be the Subaru Mt. Washington Hillclimb.
Taking place from June 26-29, 75 modern and vintage cars will spend three days racing up the 6,288-foot-high mountain. It's not as long nor as high as Pikes Peak, but it does have something that the Colorado competition doesn't: gravel; about 13 percent of the Mt. Washington Carriage Road still hasn't been paved.
If you want to know what a record-breaking run up the northeast's highest peak looks like, check out Higgins behind the wheel in the video below.
