Up for sale is my 1992 Subaru Svx LsL currently not running. Transmission will shift from 1st to 2nd but won't shift from 2nd to 3rd to 4th. Did some research and it maybe transmission sensor or something electrical between engine and trans. The rest of the trans seem fine, especially reverse. Car has been sitting for over a year, only being started up once a week before alternator failed and took the battery with it. Brand new alternator will go with car...Has an exhaust leak, not overly noisy, just a growl, the best I can describe it. Rest of exhaust system is in good shape. Wiper motor wasn't working when I bought the car from previous owner, so it will come with good used wiper motor. Need brakes but car will come with brand new zinc plated cross drilled/slotted rotors and pads. Also, the car will come with timing belt w/tensioners and water pump. There's some paint scraped of the front bumper but I bought a bra to cover it up and it looks nice w/the white car. Need tires, they hold air but need to be replaced. Has chip in windshield barely noticeable but just wanted to mention that. Rest of glass is fine. This started as a project for me but after some financial difficulties my priorities changed and i have to let the car go. This is a low miles car for the year and for these engines which ran fine before alternator and battery failed. Started up every time and idled perfectly, no leaks that I've noticed. I also replaced all the lights w/H.I.D Blue Xenon-Krypton bulbs 8500k. Big improvement over factory bulbs. I installed a white dash kit inside that matches the white exterior. Racing stripes can be removed, not painted on. Leather seats are in fair condition, driver seat showing wear and loose stitching, could use a leather conditioner treatment, carpet looks great, no stains or burns. All power equipment work, the sunroof works just need a little push up to get it started and then its fine after that. The car was black but the previous owner painted the car white because of the hot summers. Comes with extra fuses and relays for fuse box. This is a nice car just need a little attention to get her back in shape. Could be a nice project for someone mechanically inclined or for someone who needs a parts car. I would make more by parting it out but I can't bring myself to do that plus it's to time consuming. These cars are rare and have been going up in value, just do your homework. Car is sold as is, where is, without any warranty expressed or implied. A $200.00 non-refundable deposit due at end of auction. Vehicle also being sold locally so I reserve the right to end auction early. Thank you.....

Autoblog's ultimate holiday rides
Tue, Dec 16 2014Over the hills and through the woods, it's the time of year when many of us visit family and friends for the holidays. But getting there can be a chore. It's cold and snowy across much of the United States, and even if the climate is favorable, the drive to grandmother's house often is not. Think back to holiday road trips of yore: They probably included crying babies, antsy children, hungover adults and frequent bathrooms stops all around. Now, we're all at different life stages here at Autoblog, and the perfect car for one staffer might be as useful as a team of Budweiser Clydesdales to another. Some of us bounce from family event to family event with children and a labrador in tow, while others prefer a quieter, simpler holiday. But whatever the endeavor, we all need wheels. With that in mind, here is the unofficial Autoblog list of the ultimate cars in which to tackle the holiday season. 2015 Ferrari FF To borrow a chestnut from Top Gear presenter James May, "As you'd expect, I've done this properly." That oddly voluptuous ruby bolide in the photo above? It's a 2015 Ferrari FF – all 652 all-wheel-driven horsepower of it. What makes a Ferrari the ideal for holiday time in PaukertLand? My Midwestern winter breaks are wonderful, but they're typically frenetic and slushy, involving a lot of schlepping from house to house and even city to city, not to mention inevitable last-minute runs for forgotten presents and dinner ingredients. Needless to say, a powerful V12 is a welcome ally for such duties. And this one isn't just a friend when the road is clear. The FF has been gifted Ferrari's novel 4RM AWD system, and despite sitting lower to the ground than, say, an SUV, it's a pretty effective tool for real winter driving, especially when outfitted with a set of snow tires. Unlike other Ferraris, it's also a rather practical thing, with legitimate seating for four adults and 15.9 cubic feet of cargo space – that's precisely as much room as a Mercedes E-Class – and you can fold the rear chairs and cram 28.2 cubes-worth of holiday cheer in the back. Okay, so it's far from cheap and fuel economy isn't that great, but who cares? Just drop a paddle-shifted gear or two, bury the throttle and Repeat The Sounding Joy. Ain't the holidays grand? – Chris Paukert Executive Editor 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe My Mom gives out more presents than any other human being I've ever encountered.
Subaru nixes plans for US-built XV Crosstrek
Sun, Dec 28 2014Subaru is on a sales tear, with numbers up 21 percent through the end of November compared to last year. It's been investing in its Indiana factory, and having ended its contract to build the Toyota Camry there, the 400,000-unit capacity was once seen as more than Subaru needs. At some point Subaru had plans to build the XV Crosstrek here in the US, but Reuters reports that the company has changed its mind and will build the little crossover Scooby in Japan, in the same Gunma Prefecture factory where the Impreza, BRZ and Levorg are built. The report cites "the relatively high sales price," the weakening yen versus the dollar and capacity constraints at the Indiana facility. For a planned production run of 65,000 Crosstrek units annually, the new math – especially the yen valuation, which has declined against the dollar to a rate not seen since 2007 – makes Japanese production a viable option. Subaru isn't the only manufacturer taking its toys back home, either: the Reuters report says Toyota is considering shifting some Camry production back to Nippon, while Nissan plans to do the same with the Rogue. Our guess is that if Subaru sales continue the trend they've been on for years, the assembly decision will give them more local flexibility here for addressing it. Here's the story with the Chicken Tax
Fri, Dec 12 2014Quiz America's auto enthusiasts about the vehicles they most want to see in the US market, and for every one that doesn't respond with a French hot hatchback or some diesel-powered offering, there'd be at least three that ask for some small, imported pickup truck. That won't happen, though, and we have the Chicken Tax to thank. This damnable bit of legislation affixes a 25-percent tariff to any light truck not built in the United States. That's why Honda, Toyota and Nissan build all their trucks in the United States, and it's also why pickups like the foreign-built Volkswagen Amarok, shown above, or the long-rumored Mahindra pickup aren't offered here. Wired has the story on the roots of the Chicken Tax, including how one Japanese manufacturer got around it and even delivered a vehicle to one of our country's presidents. Head over and check it out.
