93 score on Autocheck.  Which I was told is extremely high.  Clean Carfax.

This is a real sale here.  I have set the reserve at wholesale blue book.  (do your homework and you can figure it out wink wink) I will sell to the highest bidder above that amount.  I have sold one other car on ebay, and I still email the guy occasionally.  I am a National Sales Manager in my work life for a very well respected company, and I know how to complete a transaction.  So all that being said, go ahead and bid.  This is a real ebay auction.  Hope you win!

About outbacks:  Subaru's are considered to be one of the finest engineered cars made.  The outback rides smooth on the highway, is very quiet at cruising speeds.  They handle very nice and tight due to the low center of gravity of the Subaru engine.  The outback is very versatile due to the very competent AWD and the additional cargo space.  The second row of seats fold down completely flat. The outback is also 5 star safety rated (the highest) for all govt. tests. It has dual front airbags, and side impact airbags as well. The outback is designed to go 250,000 miles, and Susie is ready for her next owner to go the distance.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone from The Northeast or even The Midwest bought Susie.  I would think it would make sense. This car has never seen Snow or Salt, and has no rust, near mint paint and body and is as close to new as you are going to find.  I will be available to help in any way I can.  If you want to arrange shipping no problem.  There are numerous companies that will ship cars at a reasonable expense.  Much cheaper than buying a Subaru Outback in those markets - Guaranteed.

This Outback has had a very nice life and would make a great Car for the lucky new owner.  We call her Susie. A typical weekday for Susie would be to wake up at 8, drive .3 miles down to my Son's school.  Come home.  Take a nap till 2.  Go down the .3 miles and come back.  Hence the very low miles.  The weekends are more fun.  Usually a run to home depot and sometimes even the market.

Please call with any questions. 954-551-8096.  - Charlie

I will accept cash or wire transfer.

$500 deposit due with in 12 hours of Auction ending.  Balance due 48 hours afters Auction ends.  People that have BID may make appointment to see vehicle.

How Subaru saved itself by marketing to the gay community

Mon, Oct 17 2016

Almost everyone who's in the car community, and even people that aren't, have probably heard the stereotype that lesbians drive Subarus. What you may not realize is that stereotype was fostered by Subaru, and it helped make the company relevant again in the '90s. This is the story told by NPR's Planet Money podcast. Apparently, as the company was trying to figure out who was buying its cars, the marketing folks discovered that gay and lesbian people were a large segment – along with all those outdoorsy types. The discovery led to subtle advertising directed specifically at what we now refer to as the LGBT community, which in turn led to more sales to gay and lesbian consumers. There were other components to Subaru's sales strategy in the '90s, but this particular campaign was an important part and quite successful. Thanks to that success, today we still have Subaru around building reliable, all-wheel-drive transportation, as well as rally-inspired sport compacts. There are of course many more details, but we don't want to spoil them for you. For the whole story, you need to head over to the Planet Money site and listen in. Six 'shut up and take my money' cars

Tue, 11 Nov 2014

Any time you see this iconic moment in pop culture - Shut up and take my money! - posted in response to a new car reveal, rumor for an upcoming model or even lip-service to a vehicle that should exist, you can bet there's some intrinsic good in the idea. Though depending on the person offering up the cash, that good could take the form of extraordinary form, functionality, weight savings, power, handling, etc. You get the idea.
In fact, when I first proposed this list, I reached out to the Autoblog staff to help me brainstorm. Here are some of the ideas they offered up that I ultimately didn't use: Jaguar XE Coupe, Pagani Huayra Roadster, Mercedes-Benz S-Class "parade car" (cabriolet), Morgan 3-Wheeler with Ducati V-twin, Ford Transit Connectamino (pickup), Mercedes CLA63 AMG, Ford Fusion 5.0, BMW i8 Spyder, Lexus RC-F Shooting Brake, Volvo XC90 Polestar. Oh, and things we collectively wanted to stick Dodge's Hellcat in were almost as numerous as models that Fiat Chrysler Automotive currently makes (though none quite so compelling as the Grand Cherokee you see above.)
Ultimately though, while I used a couple of ideas from my colleagues, the list of cars I'd shell out for unquestionably is very personal. Though it isn't complete, what follows is a selection of cars whose very existence would prompt me - or the trust-fund-baby versions of me - to utter without hesitation: "Shut up and take my money."

This Subaru BRZ has a snowmobile engine and gets 104 mpg

Wed, Apr 20 2016

A hybrid powertrain didn't win the Honda CR-Z numerous fans, but it might be the magic ingredient in making the Subaru BRZ more potent. This is the "Car of the Future" as envisioned by Mississippi State University's Center of Advanced Vehicular Systems – the result of a two-year project, which married a front-mounted 850 cc snowmobile engine with two electric motors powering the rear wheels. The battery pack accounts for 12.7 kWh, which enables the car to go 50 miles on just electric juice. The two-liter boxer engine is no more, but what the car loses in cubic inches it gains in MPG. According to MSU engineers, the re-engineered car gets 104 mpg equivalent, and it only weighs 2,904 lbs: about 60 lbs more than an unmodified Sportshift BRZ. It clocks a 0-60 mph run at around 5.7 seconds, too, which beats a stock automatic BRZ by a second. The electric brain of the car improves the range by calculating optimizing algorithms, based on earlier driving. The guys from MSU's Bagley College of Engineering call this Predictive Engine Control. The most likable thing about this project might be that it's still clothed in a sports car body. Future-proof car designs are often focused on mobility instead of the driver, and choosing a BRZ as the basis shows how there's still room for petrolheads in the future.
