2002 Subaru Outback H6 3.0L LL Bean Edition
Title This car has a SALVAGED title. If you don't know what this means are or uncomfortable with a SALVAGED title, then simply please do not bid. As to the salvaged title, this car was in a fender-bender in 2003. The damage was mostly cosmetic but because the radiator had to be replaced, it was issued a salvaged title. There was no structural damage, the body damage was repaired at a body shop, the radiator was replaced with a new OEM radiator, and since then the car has been driven for over 85000 miles without any major mechanical issues. Accident History Since the above mentioned incident, the car was side-swiped while parked on the street in our neighborhood. The damage was all cosmetic and was repaired by a local body shop. Condition The paint on the hood and around the front of the roof is oxidizing. The interior is in generally good condition, but the driver's side seat shows wear in the leather. The interior could probably use a good cleaning and shampooing of the carpets. Mechanically the car starts and runs fine, however I am not a mechanic nor have I taken the car to a mechanic for any kind of thorough mechanical inspection. I am unaware of mechanical problems with the car that might or might not be revealed during an inspection. As such, the car is sold AS IS. Test Drives I am available for potential local buyers to test drive the vehicle. My availability is primarily in the evenings of week days. The Car This car has been reliable for me, and has served as a family car as well as a car to take to the snow on weekends for snowboarding, etc. The AWD is very handy. A favorite feature of the LL Bean Edition is the dual sun roofs, one over the front seats, the other over the rear seats. |

2020 Subaru Outback gets new-and-improved roof rack
Thu, Apr 18 2019The next-generation, 2020 Subaru Outback introduced at the New York Auto Show is quite obviously an evolution of the vehicle it replaces. Actually, we wouldn't be surprised if many folks can't tell the difference between the new and previous ones on the outside. There are many improved elements, however, and one of them is the Outback's unique roof rack system that returns for a third generation. As before, the roof rails swing inward to be their own cross bars. There's therefore no need to mount and remove separate crossbars, or alternatively, keep them on the car where they'll create noise and hurt fuel economy. Considering that so many Subaru owners mount things to the roofs of their cars (bikes, kayaks, gear boxes, skis, tents, etc.), this is one of those things than can really make the Outback stand out from the hordes of compact SUVs out there, including the Forester. The fact that the Outback's roof is lower, and therefore easier to lift thing upon, certainly helps. Again, the swing-in roof rails were there before. For the 2020 Outback, Subaru added sturdy arches at the edge of the roof rail assembly. Besides looking cooler than the rather bulky old set-up, these serve as large, easily accessed tie-down points for especially large items like kayaks. It seems like a simple thing, but it can actually make a difference in the way people actually use their cars.
Subaru offers glimpse of Viziv 2 Geneva concept
Fri, 21 Feb 2014Subaru clearly sees something special in its Viziv crossover concept. After debuting it at last year's Geneva Motor Show and evolving it for the Tokyo Motor Show, the Japanese brand is bringing a Viziv 2 concept to this year's Geneva show on March 4. It also has a few other cards up its Swiss sleeve, too, as it has plans to display its new WRX STI road car and racecar for the Nürburgring 24 Hours this summer.
The third iteration of the Viziv gets reshaped boomerang headlights and new LED foglights, but that's all we know for the moment, because Subaru has only released a single teaser rendering along with a tantalizing claim that the showcar "signifies a future path" for the brand's next models.
The powertrain for the Viziv 2 is also still a secret. Both previous concepts used three-motor hybrid systems matched to continuously variable transmissions. In the first concept, primary power came from a diesel engine, while gasoline power was said to motivate the second evolution in Tokyo.
