Grammas Well Loved, Well Kept Outback Limited... on 2040-cars
Denver, Colorado, United States
This car has been owned by my mother-in-law since 2008 when it was purchased from the dealer as a demo vehicle with 7050 miles. She has maintained it as a Gramma would... everything/anything needing attention has immediately dealt with, first by the dealer when under warranty and then by a highly reputable independent Subaru shop since then. She has maintained the car impeccably. In July of this year she had the 90,000 Mile Service completed. On the same day she had the windshield replaced and did a 4-wheel alignment. Prior to listing the car she had it fully detailed at the carwash shop.
The car includes a Thule rack and 2 bike gutters, as well as 2 wheel fork holders (not pictured in photos - but included). The car also includes the mud/snow carpet protector in the rear cargo compartment. The car looks immaculate, save a few cosmetic issues outlined in the Condition Section. The only mechanical issue since 2008 was a rebuilt front CV joint in April of this year. That's it. What you see is what you get. It's been a great vehicle for her. She has a free and clear title in hand. (She has never sold a vehicle on Ebay, so I promised that I would assist her with this.) Feel free to ask questions... if I don't know the answer, I'll find out for you. |

Subaru says Forester logs 8,000 JDM orders in first month, 4x expectations
Fri, 21 Dec 2012The 2014 Subaru Forester is not on sale yet here in the US, but it has been on sale in Japan since the middle of last month. In that time, Subaru says that the 8,149 customer orders it has received have more than quadrupled the original expectation of just 2,000 units.
To go along with these impressive orders so far, Subaru has also provided a breakdown of exactly what initial customers are ordering, and based on the numbers provided, it would appear that early customers are choosing well-equipped models. This includes almost 90 percent of all models being ordered with the new Subaru EyeSight system, and while close to two-thirds of the Forester models are equipped with the base 2.0-liter engine, the turbocharged Forester 2.0XT is the most popular individual trim level accounting for almost 40 percent of the orders out of four available trim levels. It will be interesting to see if this trend continues as more Foresters hit dealers, but this is definitely a good sign for the compact crossover right out of the gate.
There's a brief press release after the jump that gives a full breakdown of customer orders so far in Japan.
Subaru confirms 2015 WRX STI to grace Detroit show stand
Fri, 03 Jan 2014Now that we've seen and driven the 2015 Subaru WRX, it's time to set our sights on the car's more powerful and traditionally massively winged counterpart: the STI. And while a few rumors about the new STI have already leaked, Subaru today confirmed that we'll be seeing the hotter 'Rex at the Detroit Auto Show later this month. Hot diggity.
Last we heard, the new STI will still use a turbocharged, 2.5-liter boxer-four (remember, the standard WRX uses a version of the 2.0-liter engine found in the Forester) producing something like 300 horsepower and 290 pound-feet of torque. What's more, don't expect the STI to hatch a five-door variant - Subaru recently told us that there are no plans to offer anything beyond a sedan bodystyle for both versions of the WRX. Sad trombone, we know.
That said, if our time with the 2015 WRX sedan is anything to go by, this new STI should be pretty rad. The new WRX is significantly sharper than the outgoing model (in terms of driving dynamics, anyway - it's still a pretty ugly little thing), and we fully expect the STI to be a bulgier, harsher, more powerful and aggressive version of the already awesome street-legal rally car. We're just hoping it will be offered with WRC-correct gold wheels, too.
Should Subaru stay niche or go mainstream? [w/poll]
Sun, 11 Aug 2013
Out of all the automakers doing business in the US, Subaru is the one that has carved out the most interesting niche for itself in the minds and lifestyles of buyers. Outdoorsy types, dog lovers and active families alike flock to Subaru's rugged nature and all-wheel-drive utility - and they're fiercely loyal, which is probably why Subaru has become a success story.
But Subaru is still a relatively small player in the US market, and with recent profits surging, parent company Fuji Heavy Industries is facing a dilemma: continue on with the successful niche market Subaru has carved out for itself, or attempt to go mainstream and give big players like Nissan and Toyota a run for their money. According to Carscoop, Japan Times and Bloomberg News are reporting that Fuji Heavy is beginning discussions this month to determine which direction Subaru will take.
