Condition: Excellent, with little evidence of wear and tear. Seats are clean, no tears - although it did help me raise two kids, so not perfect. Completely smoke-free environment - my daughter has allergies and asthma, so I have been very careful. No mechanical problems - car runs like a dream. Small region in front decoloured because of tree sap (in front, at hood scoop area, shown in photograph #7)
Features: Replaced factory cassette player with a completely functional CD player. Player also has USB-inputs for your iPhone/iPod. Bluetooth compatible. Radio does not work - but who listens to radio anymore?Tires are relatively new - have at least 50K miles remaining on them.
History: I am the original owner, with every piece of paperwork about every piece of servicing done. I am getting rid of this car after a great deal of consideration, and a lot of anguish. I don't need it anymore, since my kids have moved after school//college. Have been using it for about 5K miles per year for the last 4 years. Regular oil changes done every 2.5 -3 K miles. Motor Trend pits Subaru WRX vs. Ford Focus ST
Thu, 23 Jan 2014The Ford Focus ST has enjoyed a relatively calm, if brief, reign in the world of hot hatches. With nothing else in the class (in the States, at least) but the aging Mazdaspeed3 and Subaru Impreza WRX and the slow-selling Volkswagen Golf R, the Blue Oval's 252-horsepower five door has been the go-to vehicle for those that don't need the high-octane lunacy (and expense) of the rally bred Subaru Impreza WRX STI and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X.
Now, though, as the new Subaru WRX (it's not an Impreza anymore, though, neither is it a hatchback...) starts to arrive at dealers, the Focus ST appears to be under threat for the first time. Naturally, Motor Trend is here to figure out which one is the best, with another one of its Head 2 Head videos. Host Jonny Lieberman puts both cars through their paces, going above and beyond, quite literally, at the very end of the video.

Subaru planning modular platform, seven-seat SUV, plug-in hybrid
Fri, 09 May 2014Fiat Chrysler Automobiles isn't the only big name in the auto industry releasing details on its future plans. Subaru, and its parent company Fuji Heavy Industries, is aiming to bump its North American sales up from 478,000 to 600,000 by 2020. Now, that seems pretty reasonable, especially in the face of FCA's hugely ambitious goals for Alfa Romeo and Maserati. It's how Subaru will go about increasing the sales, though, that has us intrigued.
A focus on more fuel-efficient, direct-injection engines will complement a new platform, while the company is contemplating expanding capacity at its Indiana factory, which will now have more room since Toyota Camry production will be ending there.
As for that new platform, it's called the Subaru Global Platform. Original, we know. It's a modular deal and will eventually underpin a vast range of future Subies following its debut in 2016. The new platform may also end up underpinning a seven-seat SUV, which would serve as the successor to the Tribeca and debut between 2016 and 2020, according to Automotive News.
