] this Subaru has auto and AWD, leather and full power equipment. ] runs and drives great. an older car but it is like slipping into your favorite jeans and jacket. fits right, drives well, clean, comfy and confident. ] drives super with no issues. stops, starts, steers and brakes great. all gauges and full function. no lights on or off, everything works. ] 4 like new-er tires. belts, oil, filter, fluids, battery, and more all up to date. please see all photos. ] I have over 35-40 pages of repairs and receipt records. tires, oil services, head gaskets, timing belt(s), more oil changes, more this and that. previous owner was very service prone and kept all records. ] I use the car for work, school, kids, shopping and all errands. I drive anywhere, anytime and with total comfort and confidence. Which is quicker in the standing mile, a Subaru WRX STI or a Porsche Cayman?
Thu, 26 Jun 2014The 2015 Subaru WRX STI and 2014 Porsche Cayman are both saddled with unfair reputations. The STI with its huge wing and gold wheels has the title of the ultimate boy-racer. On the other hand, Porsche brand snobs look down on he base Cayman as just a wannabe 911. In reality, they are both pretty fantastic performance cars. But what would happen if the two of them lined up at a stoplight, and maybe the guy in the suit in the Cayman started throwing some revs at the young man in the STI? Automobile decided to find out in a recent video pitting the two stereotyped hot rods against each other in a standing-mile drag race.
In terms of raw numbers, they are surprisingly close. Both use flat engines and six-speed manual transmissions here, but the Subaru has more power and torque. However, the Porsche makes up for it with 300 pounds less weight. Neither should have a problem with traction either thanks to the STI's sophisticated all-wheel-drive setup, and the Cayman's mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout.
The comparable specs certainly show themselves in the real world for the race. We're not going to give away the winner here because it's too exciting, but let's just say the finish is very, very close. Mazda MX-5 Miata goes Head 2 Head with Subaru BRZ
Wed, Aug 5 2015It's a battle that's been in the making for some time now: the Subaru BRZ versus the Mazda MX-5 Miata. And now that the new Miata has arrived – and in Club spec to boot – that's exactly what Motor Trend has lined up for its latest episode of Head 2 Head. Now before you go screaming that one's a coupe and the other a convertible, take a few commonalities into account. Roofs aside, both feature a 2.0-liter four mounted up front, driving the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. Both are made by Japanese automakers and cost around $25-30k, give or take. Both produce around the same amount of torque, and while the Subaru may be more powerful, the Mazda's considerably lighter. To create a more even contest, then, you'd have to line a BRZ up against a Scion FR-S, or the MX-5 against the upcoming Fiat version of the same. Of course, being that close on paper doesn't mean that it's a draw. One has to come out on top. And after taking both along country roads and the Streets of Willow racing circuit, our friends at MT have picked one over the other. You'll want to watch the 22-minute video above (or at least skip ahead to the end) to see which came out on top, but if you're as enthused by a purist driver's car as we are, you'll enjoy every minute of it.
