2005 Subaru Legacy Gt 5spd Manual 2.5l Turbo Blue on 2040-cars
Fort Collins, Colorado, United States
for sale is my 2005 atlantic blue pearl Subaru Legacy GT Limited all wheel drive 5 speed manual 2.5L turbo with 167k miles on it. It's currently being used as a daily commuter but it could use some work. It has been a great commuter car for me for the past 40 thousand miles that I have had it. This car is great in the snow. It has a clear title with no red flags on the carfax history(I looked at the carfax when I bought the car). I have decided to get a car with an automatic. The clutch was replaced by the previous owner right before I bought the car. The clutch that the previous owner put in was a performance clutch and is fairly stiff. It is to stiff for my liking but it didn't bother me to much because I was commuting on the highway a lot and didn't use the clutch much. The previous owner claimed to have replaced the turbo at 100k miles with a more reliable 16g cartrige but didn't have a receipt and I have no way to tell if it was actually done by looking at it. The exterior of the car, body and paint is in really good shape. The interior is in great shape too.
Maintenance and new parts: I had 4 new tires installed last fall, 9/2013, and they still look fairly new. 4 new break rotors with new pads installed 9/2012 @ 143k miles, along with break fluid change. Timing belt & water pump service 6/2012 @ 136.9k miles along with an accessory belt replacement and all new coolant. The A/C compressor was replaced in may 2012. Only full synthetic oil used along with high quality oil filters used. Imperfections: There is one good scratch on the front left bumper. The windshield has a really long crack in it. It has the power heated seat option but the heat on the drivers seat doesn't work and i'm not sure the passenger side does. The plastic power seat adjustment control for the passenger side was broke off, the seat can still be adjusted. It runs very rough when it is cold and will stall when engine is cold especially when it is cold outside. When it warms up it run good and strong. It doesn't have any check engine lights on and it passed emissions when I renewed my registration last year. There is a rattling sound like something is loose when you are coasting, let your foot off the gas. The right rear power window doesn't work. I have a replacement window motor for it, I never use the rear windows so I haven't bothered to pay to have it put in. None of these items stop the car form being used and I have been using it as a daily commuter car for a while. I routinely put several hundred miles a week on this car and wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. It has the following features/options/parts: - Power sunroof - Power windows - Power door locks with keyless entry - Power heated side mirrors - Heated wiper option - Compass - Outside temperature, miles per gallon, clock & trip time indicator - In dash 6cd changer, am/fm radio, & i-pod connector aux (non oem that plays through the cd option) - Power heated seats(non working) - Leather interior - Cruse control - Antilock breaks - HID - Clear bra - Spare tire, jack & tow hook - Subaru rubber floor mats This car has been very reliable and I'll be happy to deliver the car within 150 miles of northern colorado, may be willing to go further. Otherwise pickup is the responsibility of the winning bidder. All sales are final Full payment required withing 3 days of auction closing unless otherwise arranged. |

2013 Subaru WRX STI Special Edition
Wed, 05 Jun 2013Despite my best efforts to convince myself otherwise, I think I'm finally getting too old for this car. I remember the days when I would go ga-ga over the winged Subaru WRX STI sedan, my inner boy racer caring only about its turbo thrills and not taking into account things like price, packaging or interior quality/comfort. Even now, as someone who generally appreciates offbeat color choices, I'm having a hard time getting behind the Tangerine Orange paint of this Special Edition tester, a unique version of the STI sedan limited to just 100 cars. (West Coast Editor Michael Harley recently spent time in the Special Edition WRX sedan, which will see a production run of 200 units.)
To give it The Full Halloween, this limited-edition Subie comes with black accents on its mirrors and fender badges, not to mention black alloy wheels and special graphics on the rocker panels. Special Edition cars also come standard with foglights, and there are orange accents found throughout the interior. All in, this flashier Subaru will set you back $34,795 plus $700 for destination, or $500 more than the standard version.
No, $35,000 isn't chump change, and many will argue that there are far better vehicles to be had at that exact same price point. And while my aging brain is beginning to think more toward that side of the rational thought spectrum, there's still a lot about this car that makes my more youthful self endlessly happy.

Subaru details BRZ tS, stops short of full-on STI
Mon, 19 Aug 2013Fans of the sweet-handling Subaru BRZ awaiting some performance enhancements got their hopes up earlier this month when parent Fuji Heavy Industries dropped some teasers hinting at an apparent STI version, but as was subsequently suspected, the model in question - now revealed in full - stops short of being a full-on STI model.
What we're looking at here is the new Subaru BRZ tS, which incorporates a series of enhancements but leaves the engine alone. Available exclusively in the Japanese Domestic Market, the BRZ tS package includes a thicker driveshaft, a front lip spoiler, Brembo ventilated brake discs packed inside 18-inch wheels and a smattering of STI logos inside and out. STI has also upgraded the suspension components, retuned the stability control and exhaust note and enhanced the interior with some carbon and Alcantara touches. An additional GT package includes further upgrades, most noticeably the giant rear wing (made of carbon fiber) shown above, black-painted alloys and Recaro bucket seats.
Only 500 examples of the BRZ tS will be offered in Japan, with no more than 250 of those outfitted with the supplementary GT package. Here's hoping Subaru gives us a taste on this side of the Pacific as well - or better yet, maybe they'll quit joking around and give us the full-on STI already.
