1.      Before You Bid
 
1.1.   Read the Vehicle Description and Ask Questions.  I spend a lot of time creating my listings, and I make every effort to thoroughly, accurately and fairly describe the vehicles I offer.  If you have a specific question or concern, or if I missed something, please feel free to ask.  Please keep in mind that I sell pre-owned vehicles.  As with any pre-owned vehicle, minor cosmetic flaws may be visible under close inspection.
 
1.2.   Inspect the Vehicle.  I encourage you to inspect the vehicle personally or through an inspection service prior to bidding.  If you would like to inspect the vehicle, please call to make arrangements.  Most of my vehicles are kept inside.
 
1.3.   Be Aware That Vehicles Are Offered As Is/No Warranty Unless Stated.  Unless otherwise stated in the vehicle description, the vehicle is being sold “as-is”, with no warranty.  I try to accurately and fairly describe any known mechanical or cosmetic issues.  However, as with any vehicle, mechanical or other failures may occur from time to time, and I cannot represent or warranty that they will not.  You are responsible for any repairs made after the sale.   
 
1.4.   Mileage May Vary Slightly.  I indicate the mileage of each vehicle at the time of listing.  Please note that actual mileage may be slightly higher at the time of the end of the auction and/or delivery as the vehicle may be driven while the auction is underway. 
 
2.      Bidding on the Vehicle
 
2.1.   Ready to Bid?  If you’re ready to bid, great!  Please keep in mind a few requirements and courtesies.  Please intend to, and be ready & able to (financially and otherwise), complete the purchase of the vehicle within the timeframes set out herein.  Participating just for sport without the intention to complete the transaction is unfair to me and to other users, and it wastes a lot of time and money.  I may obtain the registered information of users participating in my auctions, and may filter or cancel any bids in my discretion.
 
2.2.   I May End An Auction Early.  "Buy it now" auctions may end at any time if the buy it now feature is exercised or a "best offer" is accepted.  I seldom end "no reserve" auctions early.  However, I reserve the right to end any auction without notice at any time for any reason in my sole discretion. 
   
3.      Completing the Transaction
 
3.1.   Contact Me.  If you are the winning bidder, congratulations!  You must contact me within 24 hours of the end of the auction to make arrangements for the completion of the transaction.  Many of my auctions end well after normal business hours, so sending me a message through eBay is generally the best way.  
 
3.2.   Pay a Deposit.  You must also pay a non-refundable $500.00 deposit via PayPal within 24 hours after the end of the auction to secure the vehicle. 
 
3.3.   Pay the Balance Due.  You must pay the remaining balance due (plus applicable fees and taxes – please see 3.5, below) within 7 days after the end of the auction.
 
3.4.   Payment Methods.  I accept wire transfers, cashier's checks, and cash in person (under $10,000 only). I accept PayPal for the payment of deposits only.  All funds must be in US dollars.
 
3.5.   Fees and Taxes.
 
    3.5.1.  Dealer Fee.  I charge a $250 dealer fee, which will be added to all transactions.  This includes winning bids, buy it now prices, and best offers accepted.  I don't make exceptions for other licensed dealers.. 
 
         3.5.3.2.  Out-of-State Buyers.  I will provide you with the vehicle's title, and you will be responsible for handling the tag and title work in your state.
 
3.6.   Exchange Documents and Signatures.  There are, unfortunately, paperwork requirements for completing the transaction, which vary depending on whether you are from out-of-state or not.  These will be discussed when you contact me initially. 
 
3.7.   If You Fail to Pay or Communicate with Me.  I expect the transaction to go smoothly.  However, if you fail to (i) make contact with me, (ii) pay the deposit, (iii) provide me with required signatures/documents, or (iv) pay the remaining balance (including applicable fees, taxes, and charges), within the timeframes set forth herein, I reserve the right to keep your deposit and re-list the vehicle or otherwise sell it as I see fit, without notice, in my sole discretion.  I also reserve the right to report the issue to eBay in my sole discretion. 
 
4.      Take Delivery of Your New Vehicle
 
4.1.   Shipping.  It is frequently less expensive to have a vehicle shipped to your location than it is to fly in and drive it back, and certainly more hassle-free.  I can assist you in finding a shipper and can get very competitive shipping quotes.  You pay the shipper directly and are responsible for delivery arrangements.  I assume no responsibility for damage to the vehicle incurred after it leaves my premises.  Your vehicle will be available to ship out once full payment is received and has cleared; I send out titles once payment has cleared and all other paperwork requirements of the transaction are completed

Subaru pairs with Liberty Mutual for built-in driving monitor app

A new app for Subaru's Starlink infotainment will give owners easy access to Liberty Mutual's RightTrack usage-based insurance program later in the year, and those that take part will be able to save up to 30 percent off their bill. Users will also get nearly realtime feedback about their driving that could make them safer behind the wheel. "RightTrack is designed to benefit drivers," Jeff Wright, vice president of usage-based insurance at Liberty Mutual, said to Autoblog. The program monitors a participating driver's behavior and looks for factors like hard acceleration or deceleration, the number of miles driven, and a journey's time of day. Users then receive a report after a trip on their smartphone or the infotainment screen about these events behind the wheel. Everyone gets a five-percent discount just for signing up for the usage-based insurance, but after 90 days the safest drivers can get the maximum discount. Liberty Mutual also doesn't increase RightTrack client's insurance rates. "This partnership combines Liberty Mutual's extensive experience and reach in usage-based insurance with Subaru and Clarion's cutting-edge connected car technology to bring RightTrack savings to consumers in new ways," Hamid Mirza, auto product manager at Liberty Mutual Insurance, said in the announcement. A 2015 study indicated that 27 percent of older drivers had privacy concerns about usage-based insurance programs, but younger people had a growing willingness to try them. The industry says that showing clients how they drive can make them safer because folks realize what they're doing wrong. Plus, many people are attracted to the potential monthly savings. The RightTrack app should be available in late spring on any Subaru with the Starlink infotainment system, company spokesman Anthony Landamia told Autoblog. Liberty Mutual plans eventually to update the software to support other helpful features like severe weather alerts, accident scene assistance, and roadside assistance. Subaru partners with Magellan for smartphone-based navigation

With tech in the air this week at the Consumer Electronics Show, Subaru announced that it named Magellan SmartGPS as its mapping partner in future Subaru vehicles – without putting an exact date on when that "future" will be. The appointment means that Magellan's smartphone-based cloud navigation, which works on both Apple iOS and Android, will port fully voice-guided navigation using constantly updated maps to the head unit in the car. Magellan already sells a standalone SmartGPS unit that you can buy from major retailers, and it can communicate with other wireless devices to find destinations and transfer directions. However, with the rise of smartphones and with major tech players becoming baked-in fixtures inside vehicles, the sales of portable navigation devices have gone into freefall - from 15.1 million units in 2008 to around 4.3 million units in 2019. The deal with Subaru helps Magellan continue to focus on its core strength. The caveat is that your car will need to have the Subaru Starlink system. It is included in some of the brand's vehicles, like the Impreza and the Crosstrek. On others it is a cost option - it's part of a $1,795 package on the Legacy, a $2,295 package on the Outback.
