I am selling my 1998 Subaru Legacy GT Wagon. The car is in excellent shape runs and drives great. It has your normal wear and tear for a 1998 but there is no rust and the interior is in excellent shape with no rips. There is however a stain in the back right behind the center console other then that it is excellent. This car started out as a project car and now that the project is as far as I want to take it I have to sell this one before I start another one. Here is a list of what is done and what needs done still.
- JDM ej25 NA motor (approx. 65k miles on the motor the body has 168k) Since Subarus are notorious for having the stock head gaskets go wrong I purchased and had all new gaskets from the heads up put on.
-slotted brakes installed 1 year ago
-exedy oem replacement clutch (installed about 1700 miles ago)
-lowered on B&G lowering springs stock struts
-17 inch wheels (tires still have alot of tread on them .Car will also come with stock 16 inch snowflake wheels with all season tires on them which have less then 1200 miles driven on them)
-JDM front grill
-JDM projector headlights with 55w 8000k hid conversion
-3 inch obx rear section
Now on to the bad.
-The rear passenger struts seems to knock sometimes when you go over a bump I believe the top strut mount needs to be snugged up (everyone else tells me they can't hear it but I can)
-The shifter has alot of side to side play when its in gear so the shifter knuckle needs replaced
-Since I live in PA I only have a visual emissions inspection and since this is a JDM engine there is no EGR valve so this causes the CEL to stay on . There is a fairly simple way to fix this you just need to have the USDM intake manifold installed (which it already is) Then drill and tap a hole in the block the spot is already marked with a dimple so you know exactly where to drill. Then install the EGR and the CEL will go away. Like I said I don't need to bother with this since I'm in PA so I haven't.
-When all the gaskets were installed some oil was spilled on the motor itself so when it warms up you will sometimes get a faint smell. At first I thought it was leaking so I took it back to the shop where the work was done and they checked over it and there are no leaks that was about 6 months ago and I just got a oil change and things are still good and I check my fluid levels frequently and nothing is disappearing.
I believe I have covered everything but if there are any questions feel free to contact me and good luck bidding. I will also have the car completely detailed before the new owner receives it

Subaru prices 2015 XV Crosstrek from $21,595*
Sat, Nov 22 2014Less than a month ago, Subaru announced a series of minor revisions for its ruggedized Impreza, the XV Crosstrek. And now it's revealed US pricing for that updated model. For 2015, Subaru has introduced a new entry-level model, the XV Crosstrek 2.0i, that starts at $21,595 (*plus an $850 destination charge). That's $400 less than it used to charge for what was the base 2.0i Premium, which has grown $300 more expensive but includes a new multimedia system. (The destination charge has also increased by $25.) Go for the CVT instead of the five-speed manual that comes standard and you'll be looking at $23,295 for the Premium model, and step up to the top-of-the-line Limited trim (which comes with the CVT) and you'll shell out $24,795 – again, those prices not including delivery. The hybrid version holds the same pricing as the previous model year at $25,995 or $29,295, depending on trim (plus the new $850 destination charge). The EyeSight system that earned its place on our Technology of the Year shortlist, bundled with the multimedia system, adds another $1,295, the moonroof another $1,000, but if you tick all the options (moonroof, nav, keyless entry, push-button start and EyeSight) it all comes bundled at $2,795. Certain trim levels encompass some of those options though, so prospective buyers will want to thumb through the full press release below. SUBARU ANNOUNCES PRICING ON 2015 XV CROSSTREK® MODELS - Well- equipped XV Crosstrek begins at $21,595 - Subaru-developed driver assist technology, EyeSight® now available - XV Crosstrek Hybrid pricing holds the line at $25,995 - New multimedia systems with rear vision camera standard Cherry Hill, N.J. - Subaru of America, Inc., which has posted record-breaking sales every year for the past six years, today announced pricing on the enhanced 2015 XV Crosstrek models. The 2015 XV Crosstrek models will arrive into retailers in December. Pricing on the newly added XV Crosstrek 2.0i begins at $21,595. With just a $300 increase over previous year, the new Premium and Limited trim levels feature the updated Subaru STARLINK Multimedia system. The XV Crosstrek Hybrid pricing remains at $25,995. The versatile, fun-to-drive XV Crosstrek combines bold five-door design, a highly capable chassis, best-in-class fuel economy and updated multimedia features. Standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, 8.7-inches of ground clearance, 17-inch alloy wheels and ample room make Subaru XV Crosstrek a high-capability crossover.
Jalopnik and Consumer Reports see who can pull off the best snow drift
Fri, Feb 20 2015The weather throughout much of the United States is pretty awful at the moment with some combination of extremely low temperatures, inches of snow and maybe some ice underneath it all. The folks at Jalopnik and Consumer Reports are making the absolute best out of a difficult situation by heading to CR's snow-covered test track and attempting to make the longest drift in a quartet of very different performance vehicles. Jalopnik brought along a Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S Wagon, a Subaru WRX STI, a BMW 228i and a 1973 Volkswagen Baja Bug (heck yeah!) for the challenge. Also, the track was perfect for this group, with a mix of packed snow in places and still a few inches of unsullied powder in spots too. Ostensibly the goal was to get the tail to step out through a particular corner, but in reality this was more about having hilarious fun in the snow with fast cars. The result just looks like the best time humanly possible in this weather.
Evo shakes down Subaru WRX STI on Swedish tarmac
Mon, 19 May 2014The Subaru WRX STI has never let anyone question its intentions. With a gaping hood scoop up front, massive rear wing at the back and often found with gold wheels spinning all four corners at the ground, there was never anything subtle about this Subaru. The latest 2015 version is made up of many new parts, but the formula certainly hasn't changed. Evo's Henry Catchpole aims to find if it all still jives together on some misty, Swedish backroads in a new video.
Surprisingly, the movie eschews Evo's standard shtick of big, smoky powerslides in favor of a legitimate review of the new STI. However, this isn't Consumer Reports. As the screenshot above implies, Catchpole isn't afraid to chuck the car around a little and put two wheels off the road all in the name of testing the severe sedan's limits. He just puts an equal amount of focus into how it actually drives.
Autoblog's Steven J. Ewing fell in love with the Subie when he did our First Drive. Does Catchpole concur? Scroll down to watch the STI snaking through Sweden and find out.
