Unlike other Subaru (or almost any) cars you will see under $1,500 this car is ready to drive as is and just passed inspection!

We purchased this car in April of 2009 with 211,000 miles because we wanted an affordable reliable station wagon with all wheel drive. We had the Dealer, Nate Wade Subaru, do the timing belt at 216K. The timing belt will be scheduled to be done again at 316k. We are now up to 288,000 miles, and still consider her reliable enough for road trips, most recently going to Denver this fall and again this winter.

We just got her safety and emission inspection in April. My understanding is the new owner will be able to use this safety and emissions, and will not need to go again until next year. For the inspection this year we did some exhaust work, replaced the front windshield and did the front brakes. The summer tires that are on now will need to be replaced. Emissions passed with no problems, so she is runs clean.

NOTE: We have an extra set of rims mounted with winter tires along with a Yakima roof rack that are not included in the $1250 price, but we are happy to offer them for sale very reasonably with the car.

We have maintained the car with standard oil changes, along with synthetic or synthetic blend oil. This car will come with a fresh oil and filter change with full synthetic oil. She does drip a little bit of oil, and burns a bit more so you will need to keep an eye on the oil levels. She is a little slow going up Parley's to Park City but she gets there.

Most everything in the car works, like the AC, cruise control, etc, etc. We have a lot of documentation with the car. The drink holder in the dash is cracked and holds drinks precariously, and there are probably a few other things that are funny on the car that we are just used to by now, so we welcome your inspection and test drive. This is standard transmission.

From the inspection report we know that the tie rods will need to be replaced eventually. Besides the dents and dings that you see, the body has significant rust issues. This is not a car that you will plan to drive for another 20 or perhaps even 5 year, but if you are looking for a good AWD car for $1250 for the next year or two, than come check this car out.

For questions, or to test drive and buy this car today, email, call or text Travis or Esther.

Subaru punches out 15 millionth Boxer engine

Wed, Feb 18 2015

It's a small milestone for our favorite manufacturer of gold-wheeled, all-wheel-drive sedans and crossovers, as Subaru announced that it has built its 15 millionth Boxer engine – a mere 49 years after it installed a tiny, horizontally opposed, four-cylinder mill in the 1966 1000 sedan. The milestone engine powers something a good bit larger than the 1000, which was (ironically considering Subaru today) the brand's first front-drive vehicle. Today's boxer, the so-called FB25 2.5-liter four, was built for the current Legacy and Outback. The 15 millionth Boxer hasn't been the brand's only accomplishment in 2015. The company built its 14 millionth Symmetrical all-wheel-drive system just last month. Subaru has only been at its trademark AWD system for 43 years, and with sales going the way they are, it seems only a matter of time before the Boxer engine is surpassed. Related Video:

2015 Subaru Legacy prototype caught testing in Michigan

Tue, 30 Jul 2013

The current Subaru Legacy is only three years old, but compared to rival midsize sedans like the Mazda6 and Ford Fusion, which have recently received thorough redesigns, it might as well be a million. In other words, a reworking is in order. Caught in these spy shots, the 2015 Subaru Legacy appears to be about the same size as the current model, but it appears that Subaru is looking to push the sedan a little more upmarket in terms of styling and luxury.
Despite the heavy camouflage, some elements of the new Legacy's design are still visible. The new headlights still have a scalloped shape but are much narrower, and we can also see the deep body creases that run the full length of the sedan. At the rear of the new Legacy, the taillights should get some added depth with a C-shaped brake light design similar to what we saw on the WRX Concept earlier in the year.
Showing that Subaru is aiming a little bit higher for this Legacy, this car is being benchmarked against all-wheel-drive luxury vehicles like the current Infiniti G37 and the Audi Allroad - the latter is likely for comparison with the Legacy's wagon version, the Outback. Following the XV Crosstrek Hybrid, we expect the 2015 Legacy to be the next Subaru product to get a gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain, which we hear will be paired with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a CVT and, of course, all-wheel drive.

Subaru looks back on record-setting WRX STI from 2011 Isle of Man

Fri, 27 Dec 2013

In what we can only presume/hope is a precursor to the launch of the next-gen WRX STI, Subaru has released three videos now giving us a look back at the history of the STI-badged WRX models. In this third video, Dominick Infante, national manager of product communications at Subaru of America, got ahold of the automaker's 2011 WRX STI that broke records for the Isle of Man TT Challenge a couple of years ago.
In 2011, rally driver Mark Higgins piloted this car to a lap speed record of 115 miles per hour and a lap time record of 19:56.7 around the 37.8-mile course. The race-prepped STI, which Infante refers to as an "STI on steroids," features a beefed-up suspension, a wonderful-sounding open exhaust and the removal of the speed limiter to go with full roll cage and racing seats and harnesses.
Scroll down to see - and hear - new driving footage of this 2011 WRX STI with Infante behind the wheel as well as some race footage from 2011 - including a near-disaster Higgins averted at 150 mph. Also, be sure to check out the previous videos from Subaru for the 1998 Impreza 22B STI and a 2004 WRX STI.
