2003 SUBARU LEGACY WAGON "SPECIAL EDITION" for sale by owner! This ALL WHEEL DRIVE wagon has been very well maintained all it's life and has NEVER been abused. It has all the usual features - such as one of the world's best ALL WHEEL DRIVES, legendary reliability and longevity combined with a VERY REASONABLE fuel consumption for a car of this size and power. In order to pass the requirements for the certification, my mechanic installed BRAND NEW FRONT AND REAR BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS, they also changed the engine oil and filter less than 100 kms ago. Timing belt and water pump were done at 196 K and the head gaskets were replaced at the same time, using the thicker gaskets from the STI engines. This absolutelly eliminates any risk for future head gasket problems. The car is equipped with POWER SEATS - HEATED, POWER WINDOWS, POWER DOOR LOCKS, POWER MIRRORS - HEATED, AIR CONDITION, FACTORY AM/FM/TAPE/CD PLAYER, MULTIPLE AIR BAGS, KEYLESS ENTRY, REAR WINDOW WIPER/WASH SYSTEM, SPLIT REAR SEAT. Ther are 2 sets of wheels for the car, 1 set of steel rims with VERY GOOD UNIROYAL WINTER TIRES, and 1 set of ALUMINUM WHEELS WITH PIRELLI SUMMER TIRES, currently on the car. I took the car as "partial trade in" on a bigger deal and have too may cars as it is; I will be glad to answer any related question by e-mail and will show the car to serious buyers by appointment.

Subaru provides first glimpse at upcoming Forester STI

Mon, 27 Oct 2014

Have you been patiently awaiting an STI version of the Subaru Forester? Your wait may be over soon, good friend, as teaser images of just such a vehicle have surfaced online.
Set to debut on November 25, the 2015 Subaru Forester STI will reportedly feature more aggressive aero and cooling, upgraded rolling stock and brakes, and Subaru Tecnica International's signature bright-blue paint and red accents.
What we don't know is what will provide the motivation. There's a pretty big gap at present between the 250 horsepower offered in the top-of-the-line Forester 2.0XT and the 305-hp WRX STI, and we don't know where along the spectrum the Forester STI might fall. Nor do we know, for that matter, if it'll be offered Stateside. But we're looking forward to finding out.

Poor sales prompt Subaru to kill the Crosstrek Hybrid

Mon, Oct 3 2016

The Subaru XV Crosstrek is a major hit. It's high off the ground, offers enough seating for five, and has Subaru's iconic all-wheel-drive system, which is exactly what modern consumers want. As we pointed out last year, Subaru posted impressive sales figures thanks to its crossover lineup, which includes the Forester, Outback, and XV Crosstrek. It turns out, though, that Subaru owners aren't interested in the hybrid variant of the crossover, as Subaru plans to axe the XV Crosstrek Hybrid, reports Cars Direct. The discontinuation of the XV Crosstrek Hybrid is due to the crossover's poor sales figures, claims Cars Direct. Subaru introduced its first-ever production hybrid, the XV Crosstrek Hybrid, in 2013 and after just three years the vehicle is being killed. As we pointed out in our review of the vehicle, the hybrid's larger price tag and marginally better fuel economy made it a tough choice over the non-hybrid models. The XV Crosstrek Hybrid starts – sorry, started – at $27,245, while the base 2.0i model has - had - a price tag of $22,445. That's $4,800 more for a vehicle that gets seven mpg better in the city and only three mpg more on the highway at 30 mpg city and 34 mpg highway. We reached out to Subaru for a comment, but haven't heard back yet. We'll update the story when we hear back from the automaker. Subaru debuts tougher-looking Outback for Australia [w/poll]

Tue, 17 Sep 2013

If you're going to name a car after a specific location or region, you'd better make sure it's taken seriously in the place it's named for. You're not likely to see a Chevrolet Monte Carlo in Monaco, and the Alfa Romeo Montreal was never even officially offered in North America, but the Subaru Outback is another story.
Subaru apparently takes the Australian market, whose wilderness its jacked-up Legacy wagon is named for, very seriously. So it is apparently rolling out a revised version of the current Outback in Australia itself. The updated Outback, which arrives less than a year before the all-new model is expected to bow, answers Aussie customer feedback with a more rugged look. It's got new roof rails, body cladding, wheel arches, mud flaps, underbody protection plates and blacked-out headlight surrounds and grille trim.
The Motor Report reports that the AUD $2,500 worth of extra equipment - around $2,300 USD - comes with just an AUD $500 ($468) price hike. As far as we can tell, though, there are no plans to bring this latest look to our shores - Subaru has already detailed North America's Outback for the 2014 model year, and these changes aren't mentioned. Should this look be offered in our market? Vote in the poll below and then have your say in Comments.
