Well Maintained 05 Wrx Sti on 2040-cars
Houston, Texas, United States
Selling my 05 STi due to having a baby on the way and money being tight.
I don't want to part with it but I can always get another one down the
road. The asking price is what is left on the loan and I wont take
anything more or less than that. An exception to that is an Acura TL
between 2005-2010 preferably with the "Sport auto transmission." I've
put blood, sweat and tears into this car and have always performed any
and all necessary maintenance into it to ensure its up keep.
As far as what I put into it -Cobb AcessPORT Stage 2 -Grimmspeed Electronic Boost Control Solenoid -Two brand new Bridgestone Torenza Serenity Plus tires on the rear (the fronts still have life left) -Enkei 17x7.5in rims (black) -Cobb silicone intake pipe -APS big top mount intercooler -Competition Clutch Stage 3 full face, segmented kevlar W/ Lightweight flywheel -AMR Performance unequal headers -Grimmspeed ceramic coated up pipe -TurboXS Titanium 3in high flow cat. turbo back exhaust (4.5in tip) -Whiteline 22mm front and rear sway bars with heavy duty end links and bushings -Whiteline strut tower bars in front and back -King lift springs (1.5in lift over stock) makes for a great ride on Houston roads -Subaru 4/2 pot brakes (was going towards a rally build and small rims wouldn't fit over the Brembos) -Stainless steel braided brake lines -DBA "group n" rotors Non performance stuff -Pioneer DVD head unit -Memphis audio front 3-way coaxial speakers/JL audio rear 2 way coaxial speakers (200w RMS total) -Two Kenwood 12in subs (800w RMS) -Two amps, One for the door speakers and one for the subs -Perrin Wing stiffies (3 black) -Fresh cabin air filter There's more that I can't remember I'm sure. |

Subaru provides first glimpse at upcoming Forester STI
Mon, 27 Oct 2014Have you been patiently awaiting an STI version of the Subaru Forester? Your wait may be over soon, good friend, as teaser images of just such a vehicle have surfaced online.
Set to debut on November 25, the 2015 Subaru Forester STI will reportedly feature more aggressive aero and cooling, upgraded rolling stock and brakes, and Subaru Tecnica International's signature bright-blue paint and red accents.
What we don't know is what will provide the motivation. There's a pretty big gap at present between the 250 horsepower offered in the top-of-the-line Forester 2.0XT and the 305-hp WRX STI, and we don't know where along the spectrum the Forester STI might fall. Nor do we know, for that matter, if it'll be offered Stateside. But we're looking forward to finding out.
Subaru weighing Outback vs Forester approach for seven-seater
Tue, Mar 24 2015Subaru is gearing up for a return to the seven-seat crossover segment, and it's focusing the new model on the US market, but just which approach it will take has yet to be decided. One possibility, according to Automotive News, would be to position it as a larger counterpart to the Outback wagon, with rugged off-road styling. The other would be to sell it as a big brother to the Forester, with cleaner styling. One thing Subaru most definitely does not want to repeat is the Tribeca fiasco, so we wouldn't expect the new model to carry that same nameplate. Introduced in 2006, the Tribeca's divisive front-end styling kept it from being a serious player, and it underwent a facelift only two years later. It was withdrawn from the market altogether after 2014. The company had targeted moving 36,000 units of the Tribeca each year, but sold fewer than 2,800 in America in 2011, barely over 2,000 in 2012, less than 1,600 in 2013 and just a few hundred in 2014. The new seven-seat crossover will go after the likes of the Toyota Highlander, Nissan Pathfinder and new Honda Pilot among three-row Japanese crossovers. Like those rivals, it will be built in the US for the US market – namely at Subaru's assembly plant in Indiana, the same state where the Highlander is produced. The new crossover's arrival will, according to reports, mean that the Levorg wagon offered in Japan and Europe won't be offered Stateside. Related Video:
Upcoming Subaru WRX STI rumored to get hybrid drivetrain
Tue, Dec 8 2015Subaru might electrify the next-gen WRX STI. According to a rumor from Motoring in Australia citing an unnamed Subie insider, the brand's engineers reportedly have two hybrid systems under development for the future model. The move would allow the STI to boost power output and improve fuel economy and lower emissions to keep up with US regulations. According to Motoring's speculation, the next STI might use an electric motor at the back to power the rear axle and an upgraded version of the FA20 turbocharged 2.0-liter at the front. A new dual-clutch six-speed gearbox would help the power get to the road, and the total system could allegedly offer around 322 horsepower versus 305 hp from the current US model. This rumor also claims the next-gen STI would continue as a sedan when it arrives in 2017. Like previous iterations, the four-door will share underpinnings with the Impreza, which will mean a move to Subaru's new modular platform. The standard hybrid might only be the beginning of electrification for the future STI. Motoring's source also claims the company has a plug-in hybrid variant under development, but it might not debut until the 2018 Tokyo Motor Show. A hybrid STI could be exciting, but until there are solid facts, this rumor joins a long history of powertrain speculation about the high-performance Subaru. In 2008 and 2010, reports emerged about a diesel version, but it never appeared. We once even heard that the current-gen WRX might boast an electric turbo.
