For Sale: 2011 Subaru STI GRB Sedan with over 100K invested VIN: Private message Miles: 14,190 on the body, a little more than 7,000 on the build Price: First $42,000 takes everything. That's right, you could make money parting it out if you have the time, but I got a baby on the way, and I need to sell her. I've been offered 32 31 and 27 by dealerships locally. I have owned this car since 50 miles, I know everything about it, and I was there during every transformation, upgrade, mod, show, etc. I am the driver and the person responsible for the complete build coordination therefore I can explain the fabrication, installation, suspension alignment, motor build process, balancing, parts purchases, whatever you want to know about it, I can tell you. Please ask specific questions with regard to something you want to know, if you ask me to itemize every little thing, I will kindly refer you to Rallysport Direct or Full-Race's website orVividRacing.com to look at prices, The cost of this car was 37,500 when I bought it from the SOLON AUTO Dealership in Pueblo Colorado in August 2011. The cost of parts has been well over $50,000 alone and I'm not including the cost for dyno time, tuning, any installation, fabrication, etc, therefore I have estimated that over $100,000 has been invested. includes both sets of wheels 19" Advan RZ's Gunmetal with Nitto Invo's AND Brand new 19" VOLK TE37 Tokyo Time Attack Diamond Cut with Brand new Advan Neova tires three sets of suspension, currently installed is Air Lift Performance Air ride, but will include OEM Struts and coils, as well as the suspension used in most of the photographs which is Tein Flex Coilovers My heart and soul went into making this car what it is. I have spent so much time and money making my car what it is that it is hard to imagine life without her. Unfortunately, my family needs me more than my car and I'm hoping that another Enthusiast can enjoy what I've been blessed with putting together. This is a turn key, completed project, take it to the track, next big show, or drive it to work like I did, all in the same day. My STI has won 2nd place at SPOCOM 2012 and 3rd place at SPOCOM 2013 Hawaii. Various magazines have also requested to feature it, I can discuss that with potential buyers. Also if you have a question about a part, please feel free to ask, I will answer you, and I can take a picture if you need to see something specific, it's not a problem and I'm glad to help anybody considering this purchase with evidence of the high quality and pride I have taken building this outstanding machine. There is so much I may have missed something when I wrote up the description, but I do keep receipts and all of the parts have been purchased from Reputable dealers like Full Race and RallysportDirect so you can verify the cost on your own. Some of the items, like the HKS Exhaust which I bought from RSD for almost $2,000 I have never seen again. So I will make sure that the receipts are retained for the next buyer so they can have the same confidence in the quality of everything that I have. Jarrad from PDX did all of my tuning, the car has spent about 3 and a half hours combined on 3 separate occasions to get the tuning where it is right now. Before switching to E85 when I got back to california, I was running premium pump gas and with about 23lbs of boost at peak, over boost was set for 24 on the eboost2 and I was hitting a solid 478 awhp, and 410 awtq, this was prior to the most recent charge piping my friend and I designed and tigged up. I really just need to sell her now for medical reasons and I'm at that point where I may have to accept the high offer from a local dealership because I'm in a tough spot. I never thought I would let her go for less than 60k, but here I am ready to take about half of that, there is no catch, nothing is broken and even if it was, I could build an engine for a lot less than this is costing me in the long run, feel free to do a compression check or whatever but I need a serious offer in the next day or so or the stealership is gonna rape me. Also, I've got most of the receipts for the parts, and if I don't RallySportDirect, Jarrad, and Geoff at Full Race can vouch for my legitimacy. If I was looking at this I would think it's to good to be true and something must be wrong, but it's completely the opposite. New Subaru concept crossover EV shown in walkaround video
Wed, Jan 22 2020Subaru held a technology briefing this week in Tokyo where it announced ambitious sustainability goals, but nearly lost amid the discussion of converting its fleet over to electricity was the unveiling of what appears to be an early concept version of a forthcoming battery-electric crossover. Thanks to the Japanese YouTube account LoveCars!TV!, we get a walkaround look. It appears to be Subaru’s version of the crossover EV it is jointly developing with Toyota, to be built atop a flexible platform that can accommodate multiple production vehicles from both brands. What weÂ’re shown is an athletic-looking crossover with its wheels pushed to the corners that borrows design elements, for better or for worse, from Cadillac, the Pontiac Aztek and the Tesla Cybertruck. Up front, the crossover borrows and exaggerates CadillacÂ’s signature squared-off corners and deep fog-light scoops that also reminds us of InfinitiÂ’s Q Inspiration concept from the 2018 Detroit auto show. It opts for narrow LED headlamps, and it notably omits any aesthetic concession to even a faux grille, save for a hexagonal shape outlined by the panel seams. Coupled with the black cladding on the lower bumper, the crossover's face has a certain Batman-logo shape to it. Moving around to the side, we see heavy black cladding — it doesn't appear to be standard plastic, since it reflects light — around the wheel wells, lending them a semi-octagonal shape that evokes the strongest comparison to the polarizing Cybertruck. Coupled with some interesting side creases, the cladding also gives the appearance that the wheel wells bulge out, and that the doors pinch inward, more than they probably do in reality. There are also no door handles or brakes, the side mirrors are rearview cameras and the windows are blacked out, so thereÂ’s nothing to divine about the interior and how far along that is in conceptualization. In back is where things get especially weird and Aztek-like, with a blunt and upright rectangular body panel making up the tailgate underneath a generously long, sloping rear window. ItÂ’s beveled at the top to tuck underneath the rear LED light bar, which stretches the length of the glass, and curved on each end to integrate with the sides. The LED treatment also dives down 90 degrees from the horizontal rear bar and then makes another sharp 90-degree jag to bracket the rear panel in hard-angled brake lights.
2015 Subaru WRX: July/August 2014
Wed, 13 Aug 2014Literally minutes after snapping the photo you see above, I was soaked - hit by the third round of storms that brought absolutely insane rainfall to Detroit this week. Amateur mistake, right there; if it looks like rain's a-comin', it's a-comin'. So if you're going to take pictures of the car, do it before it's too late.
But the thing is, I was having way too much fun driving around the suddenly empty streets of Detroit to worry about handling my photo shoot in a timely manner. Folks had been cautioned to stay off the roads ever since the rain first hit. Floods had shut down several of our major freeways, not to mention many surface streets. The threat of more severe weather had put caution in the air, forcing folks to batten down the hatches and settle in for even more horrendously wet weather.
The long-term 2015 Subaru WRX, however, eats this stuff up with a passion. Inclement weather? The turbocharged, all-wheel-drive, endlessly grippy Subaru just wants to play. And after getting to know our WR Blue WRX since its delivery in June and solidifying my belief that it's a total riot, even around town, I was not about to ignore Rex's desires to go play in the rain and make mischief on the deserted streets. Empty on-ramp antics were great fun, and tossing the car around corners in the wet showed no signs of slip. Ever. Wet hair and a damp t-shirt? Worth it.
Man posts dashcam video of epic crash over cliff
Wed, Jan 6 2016YouTube user TurboFoz uploaded dashboard camera footage Monday of a terrifying crash that occurred last year as he was driving the popular Angeles Crest Highway in California. Last January, TurboFoz was zipping through the San Gabriel Mountains in his 2004 Subaru Forester XT. The engine sound was so alluring, TurboFoz opened up his Forester in the tunnels that dot the scenic highway for the full effect. "As an auto enthusiast, when you have a nice relatively fast car with a loud exhaust you tend to like tunnels," he wrote. "They make your exhaust sound that much better, sort of like singing in the shower." What he didn't know was that the road curved sharply just outside of one of these tunnels. A bystander tried to wave him down, but TurboFoz wasn't sure why the man was signaling to him. It was only when he saw the angle of the road up ahead that he realized the man was trying to tell him to slow down. He applied the brakes, but it was too late. The Subaru slid across the road and tumbled off the cliff. He rolled several times before coming to rest on a large drainage pipe jutting from the steep mountainside. If it wasn't for that small ledge on the sheer cliff the accident could have been much worse. "It was the only horizontally level piece on an extremely steep sloped hill," he wrote. "Had I spun off a few feet before or after, I'd be dead. TurboFoz says driving too fast on an unfamiliar road cost him his beloved Subaru and almost his life. Luckily TurboFoz was unhurt, but unluckily his beloved Forester was a total loss. TurboFoz hopes he can save other enthusiasts from the same, or worse, fate. "This is a reminder to be safe, pay attention and KNOW THE ROAD before you try to have "fun" on it," he said. "I failed on all 3 of those accounts and it nearly cost me my life. I've more than learned my lesson and would hope some others do by my example." News Source: YouTube Subaru Driving Ownership Safety Autoblog Minute Videos
