On the hood there are a few scratches that have been painted over (please see photo). The front passenger door has a small tear in the upholstery (please see photo). The rear window has been sealed with silicone sealant, I have no idea why as it was done before i bought the car and has never leaked (please see photo). the front lower spoiler has a crack on either side (sorry for the poor description, but please see photos). There is a small dent in the front right fender (please see photo). Drivers side door has a slight four line hair line paint crack (see photo)."

Please take a good look at my photos which explain a great deal. So, up for sale is my very well looked after 2007 Limited STI, its # 793 out of only 800 made (and has the badge below the radio, showing of the fact). Only two colors were made, 400 silver and 400 white. I purchased the car from a Subaru dealer here in Las Vegas about 1 1/2 years ago and when I did I also purchased an extended warranty (that is still good until 81851 miles, or 11/26/2014, which ever is sooner). The car has full Subaru service history and buy with confidence knowing that nothing has been short changed, with an extended warranty and a $50 deductible why would you! The warranty is transferable, I believe for $50 fee at the dealership.

I've never had any issues with the car and it was always been an absolute joy to drive. I drive a lot of miles and recently bought a motorbike to save putting excessive miles on my car, but the miles may change by the end of the auction (but not by much).

This STI comes stock, no modifications, no tweaking or messing around with her. She runs great, handles like a dream and sounds amazing. Suggested Kelly Blue Book resale value of: Excellent Condition $30,550, Very Good $29,850, Good $29,050 and Fair $26,450. I would rate my car as Good to VeryGood, especially with the extended warranty on your side, she's a great car!

Please ask any questions and I will reply as soon as I can.

Subaru's latest infotainment update is for birdwatchers (and the rest of us)

Fri, Jan 6 2017

Subaru definitely knows its audience, as evidenced by its dog-centric commercials and charitable contributions. So we weren't shocked to learn that its latest infotainment upgrade allows drivers to better track bird sightings from behind the wheel, but we are a bit curious. The eBird integration is one of eight new cloud-based apps being added to the Starlink infotainment system for 2017. Subaru drivers can use the infotainment system to display info from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology through eBird, info on sightings and an interactive coach to help get to where the birds are. (There's a cloud-based joke in there somewhere.) Most of the other new apps involve location tracking or proximity to some degree as well, including Yelp (to find food and business reviews), Glympse (which lets you share your location with friends), Best Parking (to find somewhere to put your car), RightTrack (a product from Liberty Mutual to track drivers for insurance discounts), eventseeker (which steers you toward local happenings), and Magellan NAVI (a cloud-based navigation system). There's also a digital version of the car's owner's manual available in the Quick Guide app. All are free to use, with the exception of the Magellan app, which is included free with the 2017 Impreza for three years. That car's infotainment system comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capability, so unless you really prefer the Magellan interface, it's probably best to stick with whatever's on your phone. The new Starlink apps are available on 2017 Imprezas as well as 2016 and 2017 BRZ models, and they'll show up on other Subaru models soon. The functionality requires an iOS or Android phone running Subaru's Starlink app and paired with the vehicle to provide the data connection. Put it all together and you can find some birds, get a parking spot nearby, let your friends know where you've gone off to, grab a bite to eat nearby (not poultry, of course), attend a local event, then hop back in the car and figure out how to tune the radio and find your way home, all the while lowering your insurance payment. Isn't the connected world wonderful? Related Video:

Scion rules out roadster, turbo versions of FR-S

Tue, Nov 25 2014

Ever since Toyota and Subaru released the sports car alternatively known as the GT86, 86, BRZ and Scion FR-S a couple of years ago, rumors have circulated that even more exciting variants could be in store. But at least as far as Scion is concerned, those rumors are apparently nothing more than wishful thinking. Speaking with WardsAuto at the LA Auto Show last week, Scion chief Doug Murtha said that the prospect of an FR-S roadster has been taken off the table entirely. Apparently Scion lobbied parent company Toyota to produce just such a model, but after failing to find other markets interested enough in the model to put it into production, corporate HQ said no. "I think we were pretty aggressive on our (submitted plan), but we looked at what we would have conceivably lost on the product and said, 'We're not going to even push it further,'" Murtha said, going on to note, "Nobody was more disappointed than we were." Murtha further shot down the idea of a turbo version of the FR-S, dismissing it as a prospect the blogosphere (that's us) wanted to happen but "that's not something that's coming." Either variant might have helped Scion and Toyota boost sales of the model (which are predictably dropping after their first two years on the market), but the investment also might not have paid off their development, tooling and marketing costs. Of course, Murtha can only speak for Toyota, but we'd be surprised to see Subaru go it alone on either model, as costs would be that much more prohibitive without a partner. Bummer.

Are you the Subaru WRX Concept for New York?

Tue, 26 Mar 2013

When Subaru dropped a hint about bringing an "all-new performance concept car" to the New York Auto Show this year, we immediately started hoping and praying that a conceptual iteration of the next WRX was in the offing. Looks like that might have paid off. While no official word has yet been written or uttered from Subaru, a French website called Blog Automobile has released a gallery of images that would seem to spill the beans about the WRX Concept.
If the leaked images are correct - and they look awfully complete and well done if they're not - WRX styling is taking a turn for the handsome. The sleek sedan in these images has all of the cues that we've come to expect from our rally-ready Imprezas: a dominating hood scoop and very wide stance with beefy wheels, and seems to miss only the rear wing to fit the perfect WRX stereotype. (And, yes, it should have gold wheels.)
There's no press release to be found, but the source is citing specifications as if it knows what it's talking about. We're told that 275 to 300 horsepower are the likely output of the turbocharged boxer four-cylinder engine, and that brakes with ventilated discs and six-piston calipers are there to haul the all-wheel-drive Scooby down from speed. If our earlier reporting is correct, we might expect to find an electric turbo under that imposing hood, too.
