2005 Subaru Impreza 500hp Wrx Sti No Reserve!!! Great Condition!!! on 2040-cars
Fort Huachuca, Arizona, United States
Up for sale is my 2005 crystal
grey metallic. This is the best year for the STI in both looks and performance
in my opinion. The first thing that might pop out at you is the miles. I bought
the car in early 09 when it was a little over 4 years old with about 108,000
miles. I drove it for a little while and then build the motor when it had about
115,000 miles. Since then I have only driven it to break the motor in and get
it tuned. All of the original miles were mostly highway from a person who
commuted to work. This STI still drives very nicely and does not rattle around
and sounds very tight. I have garaged it since I have owned it, washed it, clay
barred it, and wax it regularly. There are a lot of modifications that I will
list but being that this car was the first car I ever bought and financed I
have taken very good care of it in the years that I have owned it. It is a very
fast, powerful, and fun to drive vehicle with all the mods and I am sad to let
it go. It made 360whp/311wtq on the virtual dyno on pump gas with stock
injectors and maf housing. I started having it tuned on speed density so the
tuning will have to be continued to get the most power out of it as possible. I
switched from MAF to SD to not have to worry about boost leaks and have a better
performing car without mechanical limitations. It has 1000cc injectors now with
corresponding fuel mods. It also comes with flat foot shifting and launch
control using SD. If you have any questions please feel free to ask them. It
has a clean title with no lien and is ready to go. I am selling to get
something a little more family friendly. I love this car and am sad to see it
go. I have never tracked it or dragged it. Like I said this car was very well
taken care of and has no hard miles on it since the rebuild. Interior: Full black suede on the A, B, and
C pillars as well as the headliner. ATI gauge pod Neo Chrome shift knob Modified driver and passenger

On May-15-14 at 22:02:16 PDT, seller added the following information: Correction on the wheels. They are Enkei RPF-1's with blue VIS racing allen lugs wrapped with Federal RSR racing Tires. They only have about 10,000 miles on them. Rear diff and tranny had fresh fluids about 8,000 miles ago. Also timing belt was replaced. This car should be maintenance free for a long time to come. |

Ever wonder how to really pronounce Japanese automaker names?
Thu, 25 Sep 2014People tend to get very set in their ways when it comes to the pronunciation of words. Just look at the endless debates over whether or not to say the final 'e' in Porsche (which you should in terms of correct German enunciation). Or the argument about whether to follow the British convention and give the 'u' in Jaguar a special delivery or to say the 'ua' diphthong as more of a 'w' sound, as usually happens in the US.
This short video doesn't answer either of those automotive questions, but it does allow a native Japanese speaker to demonstrate the accepted pronunciations for several, major automakers from the country. One benefit is that it clears up the occasional debate over whether Nissan should be said with a long or short 'i' sound. Also, listen closely to how the female host says Mazda as Matsuda, the way it's actually said in the language. Even if this doesn't change the way you enunciate these brands, at least now you know the accurate way in Japanese.
Nissan exec Andy Palmer derides Toyobaru coupes as 'midlife crisis' cars
Mon, 28 Oct 2013Andy Palmer, Nissan's executive vice president, does not like the Scion FR-S or Subaru BRZ. To us, that's like saying you enjoy barbecuing puppies, but we'll let him slide, because his statements about the Toyobaru twins are much, much more than just idle trash talk.
Speaking to Motor Trend's Nate Martinez, Palmer said, "Do we have any competitors [in the small, rear-drive coupe segment]? Are you talking about the Subaru [BRZ]? It was a car designed for a 50-year-old. It's for a midlife crisis. That's not what we do." Strong words, but what followed was even better.
"Are you coming to the Tokyo Motor Show? You'll see the answer to the midlife crisis. Except it won't be for the midlife crisis." So, if you were wondering whether Nissan is working on a competitor to the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ, the answer seems to be a resounding "yes."
Subaru BRZ STI teasers added to Japanese website
Sun, 04 Aug 2013Coming Soon. With those two words, Subaru has officially dropped a confirmation bomb on our expectations for a higher performance version of the much-loved BRZ coupe, known, of course, as the Subaru BRZ STI. Two teaser images are being shown on the Japanese web-side home of STI along with the promise of 'coming soon,' and there's also a rather lovely looking set of twisty roads with the words 'Purity of Handling.'
There's not much we can glean from the two teaser images, but we're expecting an aggressive body package to go along with a significant increase in horsepower from the BRZ STI. We're also not totally clear on what 'coming soon' really means - the auto show season will be kicking off in full swing this fall, and we wouldn't be surprised to see a debut in Los Angeles. That said, you'll know more just as soon as we do.
