Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States

Hi to all looking at this posting and thank you for your time. I have decided to list my 2004 Subaru STI for sale, but first let me try to explain the history and situation of the vehicle. The car is located in colorado in the colorado springs area. I took it back home to my parents in 2012 and since then it has been parked in the garage the whole time. I live in california and have not been back to colorado since 2012. My dad who lives in colorado and works in california goes back and forth and starts it every now and then when he is back in colorado, however it has not been started since january I believe. Due to him having trouble turning the alarm off because I accidently dropped something on the clicker to deactivate the alarm so it must be done manually until the clicker can be replaced. Whenever it was started I was told it fired right up instantly and ran good. There has been a fuel additive put into the gas. Most of the rear of the car was repainted by a professional body shop due to someone keying it a long time ago. They did a perfect job and it looks very good job on it. I was going to have the whole front of it repainted by the same place but decided to sell it. It has normal knicks on it in the front from normal driving.
This is what has been done to the car, I purchased a axis port for it several years ago along with a downpipe. It has a Perrin cat back exhaust. It has all new radiator hoses as you can see that were installed by the dealer when the previous owner had the vehicle due to one of them leaking. It was under warranty at the time. It has a Intake as you can see in the pic. It has blue underglows that were installed by the previous owner and it has a sub woofer in the trunk along with new speakers. All done by the previous owner. I had put new tires on it when I was living in arizona but I cant remember what the last condition of them were. I had a new clutch installed also it is a aftermarket clutch that is pretty grippy, it sometimes however makes a chattering sound when the car is in neutral and the clutch is released. but then goes away when you depress the clutch. I took it in back in and they said it was "normal for that clutch", it shifts perfect and gave me no problems so I never really pursued it. The car WONT pass Smog due to it having the axis port tune on it and the down pipe, which is why I don't have it out here currently. I was told the ac blows cold and functions fine still. This car always ran good for me and never really gave me any problems. If this car sells I will have to arrange something where I will drive back so I will be present at the time of the sale and possibly put a new battery in it and make sure everything is good with it. I have the title in hand, it is a Arizona title but has my colorado address on it. That is how the dmv wanted to do it at the time when I was registering it for colorado. I believe the car has around 79- 80 thousand miles on it, I cant remember the exact number. And im not sure if the battery is still charged to check. The interior from what I remember was in good condition and I cant really remember anything out of the ordinary, the driver seat has some wear on it from normal use. I had the gauge pillar wired up when I was in Arizona its just some basic gauges, it was in there when I purchased the car but never was wired up. I will say that they are very cheap and bounce around a lot. I would just have it taken out. I will be more than happy to answer any questions and I will update this post if I can think of anything else that I have done or has been done to this car. Im not trying to leave anything out and will do whatever I can to be of assistance to anyone. Thanks for looking please ask questions if you have any. Here is the current KBB on the vehicle. 2015 Subaru Forester tS Quick Spin
Mon, Apr 6 2015When Subaru invited me to Japan and the famed Suzuka racing circuit to drive its BRZ tS, there was more on the menu than sporting coupes. The STI buffet also included the Subaru Forester tS. If you caught my BRZ tS review, the Forester follows the same idea: modified for better, more precise handling but without any increase in power. As I shared in the first tS review, and with Subaru's news at the New York Auto Show, the company plans to increase the awareness of Subaru Tecnica International – STI – over the next five years. In the case of the BRZ tS, a similarly-conceived car is coming to the US in the next few years. Such is not the story with the Forester tS. The JDM-only product was on hand to drive as further proof of what STI can do, but not as a preview to an upcoming model for sale in America. Subaru execs wouldn't go so far as to rule the idea out completely, but there was plenty of wink-nudging admitting the limited market for something like the Forester tS over here. Firmly ensconced in the "forbidden fruit" category, then, I still thought it'd be fun to report on the hot-ish, wagon-ish Forester. This one's for the other car nerds like me. Driving Notes So, what's new on this tS? Basically STI made the Forester stickier and less prone to roll under high cornering load. The same type of flexible tower brace previously found under the hood of the WRX is used here, and "flexible draw stiffeners" connect the body to the front and rear subframes for added body stiffness. The braces incorporate a very strong coil spring, and add lateral stiffness with enough give to allow the tires to stay in perfect contact with the road surface. The tires in question are 245-section Bridgestones, riding on attractive 19-inch STI wheels, both increases from the 225-section tires and 18-inch wheels that come standard in the US on the Forester 2.0XT model. The tS also has a more-powerful Brembo braking package; handy when hauling a 3,600-pound vehicle down from straightaway speeds. Subaru benchmarked the tS versus other 'sporty' SUVs and CUVs, including out and out performance variants. (Japanese professional modesty prevented Subaru reps from naming specific names, but suffice it to say that the Germans were involved.) In terms of roll rates, yaw response, slalom time, g-force and more, the Subaru's tS package shows massive improvements versus the standard Forester, and holds up to the competitive targets too.
Subaru recalls new Forester over pedal entrapment fears
Tue, 30 Apr 2013Pedal entrapment and unintended acceleration are hot-button topics these days, so automakers are always staying alert for potential problems. For Subaru and its newly introduced 2014 Forester, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall due to improperly manufactured floor mats that could become an obstruction for the gas, brake or clutch pedals. The good news, of course, is that even if drivers experience this problem, the 2014 Forester comes standard with brake override.
At issue with the floor mats on 10,137 Forester models built between January and March of this year is that the resin material used on the underside of the mats can curl when exposed to heat. If the leading edge of the driver's mat curls enough, it can come in contact with the pedals making acceleration, braking and shifting more difficult - possibly resulting in a crash. To fix the problem, Subaru is replacing the entire set of floor mats in all of the affected units. The official NHTSA recall notice is posted below.
Junkyard Gem: 2003 Subaru Legacy Outback H6-3.0
Tue, Apr 10 2018Living in Denver and spending a great deal of time in local wrecking yards, I see plenty of discarded Subarus. It's an unwritten law that every Denver resident must own a dog and a Subaru, which means you'll find dog water bowls in front of most businesses and Subarus in most parking spaces. When Outbacks wear out, they end up in local junkyards. With 2 million Outbacks sold, I don't photograph most of them, for the same reason I don't photograph Altimas or F-150s. But a rare H6-3.0 Outback is another story; here's a very clean '03 spotted in a Mile High self-service yard. The six-cylinder Outback debuted for the 2001 model year, and it wasn't cheap. For 2003, the list price on an H6-3.0 wagon started at $26,995 (about $37,000 in 2018 dollars), versus $23,770 for the four-cylinder version with five-speed manual tranmsission. You couldn't get a three-pedal version of the H6-3.0, but fewer and fewer Outback shoppers wanted manual transmissions by that time, anyway. With 212 horsepower, these cars were gratifyingly quick compared to the four-cylinder versions. I own a 2004 Outback with the 2.5-liter H4 and 5-speed manual, and it requires a great deal of patience on freeway onramps and steep grades. Subaru was very proud of the H6 engine at this time, so this car is covered with badges boasting of the six pistons lying sideways under the hood. There's one on the grille, one on the hatch, one on the center console, and a couple under the hood. This car was so clean that I considered buying the seats for my own somewhat battered '04. The original paperwork and manuals were still inside, showing that the original purchaser didn't go too crazy with the options. The car was sold just a few miles from its final resting place. The digital odometer made it impossible for me to determine total mileage, but I'm guessing this is a well-cared-for high-mile car that got traded in on a new Outback, then wasn't worth selling as a used car due to some expensive mechanical problem.
