2000 Subaru Impreza Rs Coupe 2-door 2.5l on 2040-cars

BEAUTIFUL 2000 Impreza RS Coupe! This car has been my pride and joy for almost a decade. I've taken extraordinarily good care of it and maintained it meticulously. It's gotten new synthetic oil (Royal Purple or occasionally Castrol Syntec) and a new Subaru factory filter every 3000 miles. I just had the timing belt and water pump changed. It has a new transmission, new clutch, fork, pressure plate and flywheel, new AC compressor, new cruise control unit, new radiator and thermostats, new air filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires and a new battery. I upgraded the front seats with (more comfortable, more stylish) ones from a WRX. I also put in an in-dash CD changer from a WRX. This car has never been raced or abused. It's hard to tell by looking at the picture, but the engine is (and always has been) very, very clean. Like I said, I take GREAT care of this car!
The body is in great shape for a car that's 14 years old, and has only fairly minor issues here and there. The front bumper has the usual tiny chips from garbage on the freeway. The rear bumper has a scrape on the left rear corner from where some wanker brushing it with his car. There are a few chips on the right side rear bumper and a few other miscellaneous dings here and there. The biggest issue with the body is that the clearcoat is blotchy on the spoiler. The paint is great, but the clearcoat needs to be re-applied. Overall, this thing is GORGEOUS! Please note that it needs new tires (especially fronts). Look at the condition notes for complete description. Email me with any questions. |

Subaru confirms new Outback to debut in New York
Thu, Apr 3 2014Performance enthusiasts may think of the WRX and BRZ when the name Subaru comes to mind, but for many others, the brand is best associated with the Outback. The soft-road version of the Legacy (and the Impreza-based Outback Sport that preceded the XV Crosstrek) is a vital product for the Japanese automaker, which has now confirmed it's bringing the latest version to the New York Auto Show in just a couple of weeks from now. There's little to go on from the teaser image above (which you can click to enlarge) and the press release below, which says only that "The all-new Outback is Subaru's flagship crossover model which blends Car-like handling and SUV capability." And that much we knew already. It's safe to assume that, like previous versions of the Outback, the new model (which we recently spied undergoing testing) will be based closely on the latest Legacy, albeit upgraded with a higher ride height, lower body cladding and other off-roading enhancements. Watch this space for more. All-New Subaru "Outback" to Make World Debut at 2014 New York International Auto Show Tokyo, April 3, 2014 – Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (FHI), the maker of Subaru automobiles, today announced that the all-new "Outback" (US specifications model) will make its world debut at the 2014 New York International Auto Show (Press day: April 16 and 17; Open to the public from April 18 through 27, 2014). The Outback will be unveiled at the press briefing scheduled for 10:55 AM EST on April 17 at Subaru booth following a speech to be made by FHI President & CEO, Yasuyuki Yoshinaga. The all-new Outback is Subaru's flagship crossover model which blends Car-like handling and SUV capability. The special site opens today at 22:00 (Japan time) on the Subaru Global Site. http://www.subaru-global.com/2014ny.html The site will feature information updates relating to the New York International Auto Show including Subaru's press conference.
Are you the Subaru WRX Concept for New York?
Tue, 26 Mar 2013When Subaru dropped a hint about bringing an "all-new performance concept car" to the New York Auto Show this year, we immediately started hoping and praying that a conceptual iteration of the next WRX was in the offing. Looks like that might have paid off. While no official word has yet been written or uttered from Subaru, a French website called Blog Automobile has released a gallery of images that would seem to spill the beans about the WRX Concept.
If the leaked images are correct - and they look awfully complete and well done if they're not - WRX styling is taking a turn for the handsome. The sleek sedan in these images has all of the cues that we've come to expect from our rally-ready Imprezas: a dominating hood scoop and very wide stance with beefy wheels, and seems to miss only the rear wing to fit the perfect WRX stereotype. (And, yes, it should have gold wheels.)
There's no press release to be found, but the source is citing specifications as if it knows what it's talking about. We're told that 275 to 300 horsepower are the likely output of the turbocharged boxer four-cylinder engine, and that brakes with ventilated discs and six-piston calipers are there to haul the all-wheel-drive Scooby down from speed. If our earlier reporting is correct, we might expect to find an electric turbo under that imposing hood, too.
WRX Concept gets walkaround with Subaru design boss Osamu Namba
Mon, 08 Apr 2013The Subaru WRX Concept was the only concept car to be mentioned among our Editors' Choice favorites for New York Auto Show debuts this year - snagging the No. 3 spot nonetheless - due to what it could mean to the future of Subaru if it indeed becomes a reality. Now that we've caught our breath from walking countless miles through the Javits Center, Subaru has released a brief video of design boss Osamu Namba describing some of the exterior styling elements of the sporty concept sedan.
While this video is just your basic walkaround that gives no mention of the concept's inspiration or what we can expect from the next-generation WRX, it is still fun to watch Namba explain many of the car's design elements including the more aggressive face, the quadruple exhaust outlets and the signature flared wheel arches and side outlet fender vents. If you liked the WRX Concept as much as we did, scroll down to watch this short video.
