2002 Subaru Forester - White - Low Mileage - 113,674 - 28 Mpg - Great Condition on 2040-cars
Lexington, Kentucky, United States
2002 SUBARU FORESTER - WHITE - VIN # JF15F635X2H734365 - Mileage - 113,680 28 MPG - $6,200 This is one of the most dependable vehicles of all time according to Consumer Report's 'Frequency of Repair' & 'Most Reliable Used Cars' Categories! LOCAL PICK-UP ONLY - NO SHIPPING! This car gets excellent gas mileage, is super clean, very dependable, and with the extended maintenance performed & installed it should take you another 250,000 miles with no problems if similar services are maintained . . . This car drives like new and tracks down the highway at high speeds perfectly, with zero road noise or vibrations. The car has been kept-up over and above the average maintenance cycles. Exterior body had a couple of dings or small dents. Otherwise paint is in excellent condition. Front Grill is a bit rough. and there was a 2" spot of glue spilled on passenger seat. The seat is clean but the spot shows somewhat. Under-body is in excellent condition with no rust or road damage. The front fenders & grill were damaged due to the previous owner rear-ending someone. She didn't want the car after that and I bought it from a dealer in Nicholas, KY. I bought the car from them and had the damage fixed with new parts and a like new OEM hood purchased from eBay. The hood was only slightly buckled in the front but I was advised it would be difficult to repair properly with that type of buckled damage in the front. There was absolutely zero damage to the vehicle frame, suspension, struts, etc. Only front fender, hood, and grill damage, with all parts replaced by BBB Rated 'Bluegrass Auto Body' in Lexington, KY. The Free & Clean Title reflects the vehicle as having been 'Rebuildable'. This Forester was equipped with a Heavy Duty Transmission Cooler, Full Towing Package, & External Towing Mirrors, to haul my 2005 Aliner Expedition Camper out West this summer. I was afraid it just might not be able to pull the High Rocky Mountains with the heavy load I seemed to acquire of hunting, golf, hiking, and fly-fishing equipment, so I purchased a 2002 Toyota 4Runner which will better serve my needs which is why I'm selling the Forester. 2013 Subaru Legacy and Outback recalled over potential steering loss
Wed, 15 May 2013Subaru today announced a recall that affects 5,379 Legacy sedan and Outback wagon models in the United States. All of the affected 2013 model-year vehicles were built between February 15 and June 15 of 2012.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, "the inner and outer shafts of the steering column assembly may become disengaged from one another" in these vehicles. If that happens, the driver can lose the ability to steer the vehicle, which could obviously lead to all sorts of harmful things.
Subaru will notify owners of the problem, and affected models will have their steering columns replaced at dealerships, free of charge. Scroll down for the official NHSTA report.
Hyundai, Genesis, Subaru warn their dealers about markups
Mon, Feb 28 2022Six weeks ago, word got out that Ford's VP of sales for the U.S. and Canada wrote one of those "It has come to our attention..." e-mails to the automaker's dealer body. The VP's problem was dealers trying to get reservation deposits for the Ford F-150 Lightning well above the official $100 fee. The tomfoolery resulted in interactions "with customers in a manner that is negatively impacting customer satisfaction and damaging to the Ford Motor Company brand and Dealer Body reputation." Two weeks later, GM told its dealers to cut out the reservation gaming and the markups on the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, banditry that's been going on for two years. Two weeks ago, Ford was back at it, this time about markups on the Bronco. Last week, Asian automakers swept into the melee, with Hyundai and Genesis, Subaru, and Infiniti writing letters to their dealers to deliver some variant of, "Stop pissing off the customers." Automotive News reported an SVP at Hyundai Motor America and the COO at Genesis Motor North America sent letters to their dealers expressing disappointment at "certain pricing practices which, if left unchecked, will have a negative impact on the health of our brand." One of the practices mentioned was dealer markups, another was the bait-and-switch, with dealers advertising one price then charging a higher price once the customer showed up at the lot. The letters acknowledged that dealers are separate companies to the automakers and have the right to set their own prices. The automakers cannot interfere with that; their leverage is distributing allocations and perks such as advertising support and financial incentives. So, like a movie boss letting the protagonist go on a technicality, the brands wrote, "we cannot stand idly by watching the actions of the aforementioned dealers undo all the efforts we collectively have put into making these brands what they are today." Jalopnik got tipped to a letter Subaru of America CEO Thomas Doll sent to that brand's dealers. Doll's polite yet insistent tone was the result of a letter a loyal Subaru owner sent to the automaker's VP of Customer Advocacy. In the market for a third brand-new Forester, the owner said they encountered a "tax" labeled a "Low Inventory Surcharge" of as much as $6,000, putting the Forester out of reach.
WA woman wins $90M Powerball, plans to buy Subaru Forester
Fri, Dec 5 2014This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Lisa Quam recently hit the Powerball jackpot to win $90 million. Like many folks lucky enough to win, Quam says one of her first stops will be a car dealer for a new set of wheels. Her first thought isn't to choose high luxury with a Bentley Mulsanne or Mercedes-Benz S-Class, though. Nope, she plans to buy herself a Subaru Forester, which is an eminently practical (if predictable) choice for someone residing in Washington state. Hopefully, Quam will decide to spend a few extra bucks for the turbocharged XT trim; she can definitely afford it. For our money, Quam's Subaru isn't nearly as cool of a choice as the guy who decided to buy himself an used Acura NSX from Craigslist with his $448 million Powerball jackpot last year. They're both keeping things modest with their newfound fortunes, though, and that strikes us as a smart move.
