Hello ,

Up for sale is my 1999 subaru forester s,
First let me say that the car is just about mint like new inside. No stains, rips or wear marks at all, the only cosmetic flaw being the small light that lights the heat dial is burned out. other than that the drivers side visor is missing the right holder. it doesn't affect its use at all. the exterior has the normal dings. all from other people opening their doors on it, you know that deal. there is only one small rust spot that is on the passenger side wheel well and is about 2 inches. the paint is in great shape and has the normal chips from highway driving. overall the car runs pretty good. it does have a slight hesitation issue with the idle but it never bothered me enough to fix it. Mechanic told me the throttle cable is a bit worn so the car throws off the engine light for overspeed sensor.  the car gets great gas mileage and rides very good on the road. This car is the S model which means alot, basically it has all the bells and whistles. Like Heated Seats, Heated mirrors and so on. So heres a list of what has been done in the last two months.
new ported throttle body
head gaskets
ngk spark plug wires
ngk iridium plugs
k&n filter
rear shocks
front and rear brake pads
fuel filter and pcv valve
idle air control valve
mass air sensor
exhaust mid pipe from cat to muffler
radiator anti freeze
front end alignment, electronic
new overhead clock
pioneer bluetooth headunit stereo with sub woofer hook up  in trunk
As you can see i have spent quite a bit on this car. it would make a great first car or commuter for someone. I am selling because i need a to buy a truck for work and farming reasons. other than what i have listed there are no other known issues to my knowledge.. these cars are known for running two to three hundred thousand miles. very reliable and safe.  thanks for looking and good luck bidding, any questions feel free to ask , have a great day !!! almost forgot . I am selling at clean trade in value 2900.00  retail is still at 4600.00  . I just want to be fair and sell this so i can get my truck. I have invested over 1100.00 in this to make sure it was perfect and because i drove a long way to work.

Subaru recalling 660k vehicles in some states for possible brake line corrosion

Thu, 03 Jul 2014

Subaru is recalling 660,238 vehicles located in 20 US states that use salt on their roads. It's possible that salty water could splash onto the rear brake lines, and it could eventually cause corrosion and potentially perforation, leading to a fluid leak.
The recall covers the 2005-2009 Outback and Legacy, 2008-2011 Impreza, 2008-2014 WRX and STI and 2009-2013 Forester. However, only vehicles currently or formerly registered in the following snowy US states or districts are covered: Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia. The company previously recalled the 2005-2009 Legacy and Outback to repair this problem, and now it's added the additional models, plus any of the original cars it missed the first time.
According to the defect notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Subaru found a total of 24 cases of corrosion in US leading up to the recall. There was a single case of actual brake line perforation, but it happened in Switzerland, according to the document. The company believes that it would take seven or more seasons of winter driving on salty roads before any corroding would begin.

Evo shakes down Subaru WRX STI on Swedish tarmac

Mon, 19 May 2014

The Subaru WRX STI has never let anyone question its intentions. With a gaping hood scoop up front, massive rear wing at the back and often found with gold wheels spinning all four corners at the ground, there was never anything subtle about this Subaru. The latest 2015 version is made up of many new parts, but the formula certainly hasn't changed. Evo's Henry Catchpole aims to find if it all still jives together on some misty, Swedish backroads in a new video.
Surprisingly, the movie eschews Evo's standard shtick of big, smoky powerslides in favor of a legitimate review of the new STI. However, this isn't Consumer Reports. As the screenshot above implies, Catchpole isn't afraid to chuck the car around a little and put two wheels off the road all in the name of testing the severe sedan's limits. He just puts an equal amount of focus into how it actually drives.
Autoblog's Steven J. Ewing fell in love with the Subie when he did our First Drive. Does Catchpole concur? Scroll down to watch the STI snaking through Sweden and find out.

Honda, Subaru airlifting parts to bypass port labor diputes

Fri, Feb 6 2015

It should be abundantly obvious that a vital element in building cars is actually having the components on hand to assemble them. A labor dispute on the West Coast between the International Longshore and Warehouse Union and management is not making that quite so easy for some Japanese automakers. Work slowdowns at the ports have pushed Honda and Subaru parent Fuji Heavy Industries into flying some parts into the country. The two automakers began shipping by airplane late last month to avoid production delays, according to Bloomberg, but it has been an expensive solution. Subaru's chief financial officer said the decision cost around $60 million more per month than sending components by cargo ship. They aren't the only companies dealing with the problem, either. Toyota reportedly stopped overtime assembly at some of its factories here because of the delays in getting parts, according to Bloomberg. The dockworkers have been negotiating on a new contract since May 2014, and the current offer on the table to them has offered a 3 percent raise, according to Bloomberg. Although, the union is reportedly considering another slowdown at 29 ports along the West Coast in the coming days.
