Vehicle is in great condition. I love this car, but currently have 3 cars and am moving out of state. Unfortunately, the Baja has to go. If your interested, email me and we can set up a visit or a phone call so I can give you more information. This vehicle has been very well maintained, and has a lot of recent maintenance. I made every effort to replace any system or part that was worn so that the future owner could enjoy a trouble free vehicle.
The Baja Turbo is the ultimate functional vehicle - fast, sporty, able to carry 4 people, has a truck bed, and can tow. Rides like a sports car, hauls like a truck. The bed is made larger by a flip down door behind the rear seats (see picture). This car can carry 20' 2x4's without a problem. Mobil 1 Full synthetic oil changes every 3,000 miles. Tires have plenty of tread (at least 75%). See my additional pictures for more information, including the full CarFax report.
Asking Price:
Kelly Blue Book is listed at $13,181. I have reduced the buy it now price to $12,550, and this Baja will move quickly. Don't miss out! I also have this listing on Autotrader.com, and I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells elsewhere.
Upgrade Parts:
I installed a hitch on the back, but have only towed one time. I installed a turbo boost pressure gauge on the steering column. The turbocharger was replaced at 79,000 miles, and at that time the up-pipe was replaced with a high flow unit. This reduces turbo lag time and exhaust back pressure without any change to drivability or reliability. I hard wired a Garmin GPS unit to the car, so it automatically turns on when the car does. It's tucked up at the top of the A-Pillar so thieves won't take notice. The Thule roof rack bars are awesome for putting your surfboard or luggage on top without scratching your cargo or the car!
New maintenance parts: (I have receipts for all of these brand new parts)
Water pump
Timing belt
All timing belt pulleys
Timing belt tensioner
Thermostat
Spark plugs
Alternator belt
Ac compressor belt
Brake discs
Brake pads
Clutch disc
Clutch pressure plate
Throw out bearing
Pilot bearing
Air filter
Oil changed with Mobil 1 and new filter
Exhaust and turbo gaskets
Windshield wipers
New Battery
This car is ready to rock and has all the major systems refreshed...This means just put gas in and drive, no hassles! Email with any questions and I can respond via email, or leave your phone number and I'll call you and answer any questions. Thanks for looking.

2018 Subaru Crosstrek still gets a manual transmission in the US
Mon, Apr 3 2017When Subaru revealed the next generation Crosstrek, known as the XV in Europe, at the Geneva show, the company only announced the inclusion of a CVT. Fortunately, American Crosstrek buyers will still have the option to operate a clutch and shifter for themselves. It even comes with an extra gear compared with the previous generation, for a total of six cogs. The 6-speed manual will be standard equipment on base and Premium Crosstrek 2.0i models. Subaru's offering of a manual will also allow drivers to make the most of the 152 horsepower the direct-injected 2.0-liter engine makes. However, if you do still desire an automatic option, the European CVT is available as an option on base and Premium trim. It's also standard on the Limited model. The CVT can be manually shifted, too, with seven set ratios to choose from. Only the CVT is available with Subaru's "X-Mode," which incorporates hill-descent control. Regardless of configuration, every Crosstrek comes with standard alloy wheels and a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Moving up to Premium adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, along with an option for a sunroof. The decked-out Limited model comes with LED headlights that illuminate corners, power leather seats, keyless entry and start, and a larger 8-inch infotainment screen. Subaru also offers various driver assists on different trims including the EyeSight system with adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning. Pricing for the Crosstrek hasn't been announced, but the model will arrive at dealers this summer and will be on display at the New York auto show. Related Video:
Junkyard Gem: 2000 Subaru Legacy GT Limited Sedan
Sat, Mar 7 2020Due to the runaway success of the Subaru Outback wagon based on the third-generation Legacy, which appeared in North America for the 2000 model year, nearly all of the discarded 2000-2004 Subarus I find in my local Denver junkyards are these dime-a-dozen longroofs, mostly with H4 engines and automatic transmissions (though I do manage to run across the occasional rare H6 model). For a discarded example of the super-rare non-Outback Legacy GT sedan with manual transmission, I had to travel all the way to a Northern California car graveyard. Here it is! The GT Limited came with bigger brakes, faux-wood interior trim, and a bunch of winter-weather extras that probably weren't very useful in coastal California. All Legacies, wagon or sedan, had all-wheel-drive at this point. The "wood" didn't come from trees, but the leather did come from cows. I have a 2004 Outback wagon of this generation, complete with 5-speed manual transmission, and I must describe the driving experience and fuel economy as truck-like. Still, it has been very reliable during its 140,000-mile career and— when shod with proper winter tires— laughs off any kind of winter driving conditions Colorado can throw at it. If you're building a car-parts homemade boombox, be sure to get one of these weather-band-equipped Subaru radios. It's not a boombox party until you can listen to the robotic weather broadcasts. Although Americans seem less interested in sedans with each passing minute, Subaru still offers the four-door Legacy. Remember, the Outback wagon has always been based on the Legacy, not the other way around. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. 2015 Subaru WRX: July/August 2014
Wed, 13 Aug 2014Literally minutes after snapping the photo you see above, I was soaked - hit by the third round of storms that brought absolutely insane rainfall to Detroit this week. Amateur mistake, right there; if it looks like rain's a-comin', it's a-comin'. So if you're going to take pictures of the car, do it before it's too late.
But the thing is, I was having way too much fun driving around the suddenly empty streets of Detroit to worry about handling my photo shoot in a timely manner. Folks had been cautioned to stay off the roads ever since the rain first hit. Floods had shut down several of our major freeways, not to mention many surface streets. The threat of more severe weather had put caution in the air, forcing folks to batten down the hatches and settle in for even more horrendously wet weather.
The long-term 2015 Subaru WRX, however, eats this stuff up with a passion. Inclement weather? The turbocharged, all-wheel-drive, endlessly grippy Subaru just wants to play. And after getting to know our WR Blue WRX since its delivery in June and solidifying my belief that it's a total riot, even around town, I was not about to ignore Rex's desires to go play in the rain and make mischief on the deserted streets. Empty on-ramp antics were great fun, and tossing the car around corners in the wet showed no signs of slip. Ever. Wet hair and a damp t-shirt? Worth it.
